The Natural Order
1. Stockport - Nothing has ever been more certain.
----------------
2. Wrexham - Lose in first playoff match 1-0 at home.
3. Grimsby (promoted) - Hurst factor alone secures them playoffs.
----------------
4. Torquay - Johnson factor alone secures them playoffs.
5. Chesterfield - They'll continue to spend dodgy money throughout the season.
6. Notts C - Based on Callum 'Cal' Roberts being fit all season. If not, move them down to 14th.
7. Bromley - Everyone is saying they've got a chance but nobody even knows who their manager is.
----------------
8. Solihull Motors - Solid enough manager and they seem to be Going For It a little bit again.
9. Dag & Red - They are always in about 9th in my mind. Nothing more to be said.
10. Barnet - They've decided they are playing again this season, so will probably be top 10.
11. Southend - Brown gone by November and sadly a Brother who have a long road ahead of them.
12. Yeovil - Solid enough under Darryl Searle.
13. Borehamwood - They need to go down but they'll always be stinking around in mid-table.
14. Woking - Probably go down actually, it's all they ever do but there's some shocking teams here.
15. Halifax - Hovering around waiting to join Woking in a year or 2 I suspect.
16. Eastleigh - Another club that refuses to go down and are always around there.
17. Maidenhead - Devonshire factor saves them every year.
18. Alty - Dunno
19. Wealdstone - Dunno
20. Aldershot - Always lurking about waiting to go down. Danny Sarll should just about keep them up.
-----------------
21. Weymouth - Dunno
22. Kings Lynn - Count Cleeve, vampires etc. Be prepared to have 3 points taken off if you beat them.
23. Dover - Nobody will ever forget What They Did. Dead last and goodbye forever.

Stockport County.
The top 5 (not necessarily in this order):

Chesterfield
Notts Co.
Stockport
Wrexham
Grimsby

6th - 18th (again, in no particular order):

Yeovil
Solihull
Boreham Wood
Southend
Maidenhead
Aldershot
Woking
Halifax
Barnet
Bromley
Torquay
D & R
Eastleigh

And the bottom 5 (not by coincidence, I suspect the 5 clubs with the smallest budgets)

Wealdstone
Weymouth (he wrote in hope, rather than expectation)
Dover
Altrincham
King's Lynn
Altrincham seem to be shopping in a slightly different market this summer. Ben Pringle, AJ Leitch Smith, a few others. Looks like a budget increase. Kept hold of Colclough too

After today’s “ team photo reveal”, this Aldershot team is totally ill-equipped to compete in this, the strongest Conference league ever.
We’ll be relying on some excellent loans, and I’m not confident Danny Searle has the connections.
Hope I’m wrong.

We finished fifth without Roberts last year and have definitely strengthened in the summer on the quiet. If we finish 14th our own message board will have 100 page threads on manager out, owners out, sack all the players and basically change everything but the Pukka pies.

It will have that if we lose the friendly at Solihull tomorrow.

Wow, didn't realise they had Ryan Colclough. He was arguably Scunny's best player for a bit, albeit when they dropped from L1. Didn't get along with Hurst though* and couple that with his assault charge indicates he's probably got attitude problems, but imagine when he's on form he's a top asset down here.

*could be confusing him with Adam Hammill actually there?

Colclough looked excellent when we played them last year. Sounds like he's got a screw loose though. A bit like Ricky Miller, has to be in the right environment?

This is typical of fans in our predicament (used to disappointment) so very few people want to tip their own team. Well to hell with it I'm bucking the trend and putting my neck on the block, I THINK THAT WE WILL WIN THE LEAGUE! and I don't really care who comes second, third, fourth etc.

OMG missing the word 'WIN' out (now corrected) really must have been a Freudian slip of the highest magnitude.

Feels to early for this. I will do my full 23 nearer the start date. I think there's a strong 6 who will think they can win the league. Wrexham, Notts, Stockport, Chesterfield, Grimsby and Southend. I think one if not both Southend and Grimsby may under estimate this level though. I'm not well versed in their squads but at a glance, I don't see it awash with players I'd like here for example. Dagenham are strong and under performed last year. Torquay did great but their squad has been gutted- can't rule them out though, Johnson is a smart operator. Solihull, Boreham Wood and Bromley are well backed and will aim to get their names in the frame as they have done in recent seasons. Yeovil are a good sized club at this level but not sure where they're at really- they had a tough seaosn last year with what went on with their captain. Halifax and Eastleigh were solid outfits had good seasons last year. Barnet, Aldershot, Woking and Maidenhead seem to know this level and the markets well, if they slip up they could end up in a battle but they'd also take inspiration from Sutton. Alty, Weymouth, Wealdstone, King's Lynn and Dover do look like strugglers but you never know.

I hope I've not missed anyone.

Chesterfield are going to go well. They look the most made for this league of the favourites. That James Rowe is a smug twat, but I reckon he's got a good hold on this league and what it requires.

We'll be up there but we're going to have to go up a level from last season. Rusk will be gone by Christmas if we're a fair few points off 1st.

This fella knew his onions at times he really did. Few mistakes but the gist was right. I didn't predict Rowe getting his todger out to the physio which in hindisght was my undoing.

Few bad shouts. Well done Wealdstone, glad they proved me wrong, I like them. Halifax have surprised everyone tbf, there's always going to be one.

And thankfully, in re: to post two we did go up that level after Challinor came in and worked his stuff.

Challinor being appointed and Rowe getting his chipolata out to the physio swung it our way.

Stockport where the best team we played this season at Blundell Park, if they hadn't gone down to ten men we'd have lost for sure; even then they looked good.
