Very good players from when they've played against Darlo, bit of a drop for them going down a league or 2.

But guessing the money is a factor & being FT?

Few factors I suspect, wages obviously being one of them..

Our team looks frightening, very good chance they'll be back in the NLN next season with us.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Curzon always lose most of their best players in summer they seem to do well always finding replacements and that is always the managers goal.

It will be down to cash and location most of the curzon players are here as they can keep part time football in Manchester area.

Either max are offering an enormous wage rise (possible with 4000 fans to 300) or they are offering part time football with an increased pay.

Very good player but I’ve become very sceptical on saying it thesedays as nearly all the players leave here as good players and do poorer elsewhere.

Think a max fan would best relate to me saying I find curzon a little like Accrington when in L2 players seem to give that little extra which doesn’t happen elsewhere.

If you get beat out of peers he’s good but it isn’t always easy.

Peers played for us for the best part of 5 years, from the NPL up to the National League. Once we hit the National League he was used mainly as a sub (we never won a game when he started).

He scored his fair share in the NPL and NLN. He could score worldies and miss sitters, and had an unfortunate knack of scoring when offside.

I wasn't sad to see him go, but he will no doubt score plenty for you.

Thinking about Alty, we've also signed Sam Heathcote from Linnets.. I bet his dad isn't happy about that

I hear ya.. To be honest, if he can't bag a load of goals with Berry, Curran and kengni alongside him theres no hope for him!

I saw that Sam Heathcote had signed, struck me as a slightly odd one that. Hasn't he been playing in the NPL regionals / NWCL for the past few years? I seem to recall he scored a bagful for West Didsbury & Chorlton a couple of years ago.

Yeah.. To be honest he's a very decent player and deserves his shot at the NPL Prem.. Was deffo a stand out player against us in all games against Linnets.
It's his battle to break into the team above Mendy and Fensome now.. So we'll see.

He's also a giant, which is good for us as our lads are decent ballers but we do lack height.. Which I believe in the NPL Prem is more of a danger for us.

Also, I thought it was a tad odd that we arranged a friendly with you chaps.. Not that I have any Ill feeling, apart from the decades of mutual dislike. It's seems an overly risky game to me.

He played a season for us (at centre half) in the National League, albeit one where we were relegated. He came back to us on non-contract at the end of our NPL season, covering for injuries, as I recall.

Re the friendly - yes, it does seem a bit risky. Is it really almost 7 years since we played each other? I'm thinking of an FA Trophy game around Christmas 2016.

2016 seems about right.. Feels an age ago. Alot has happened in that time!

All the best for next season..

Came through our academy. Had lots of chances but never quite made the breakthrough. Annoyingly he always seems to score against us.
