Macclesfield sack their club legend Danny Whittaker after losing a cup game to Guiseley from a league above even though they are still clear at the top, no sense of loyalty, I'm hoping we can now go there and get a result Tuesday night

Wasn't because of the loss to Guiseley.. Danny is a poor manager and propped up by having the best players. Timing is off I admit, but this was inevitable.

The performances this past month have been awful.

Fair play to Macclesfield I have maybe been guilty of believing the negativity surrounding their owners but found the ground and club welcoming last night, with their spending power and squad no team in this league will be able to sustain the challenge accross the full season and no doubt they will up near the top of the Npl next season, for us and most non league, half a day off work and a 4 hour coach trip maybe isnt ideal but that's the reality of part time football, a big shout to the 100 or so who did make the trip though

You a Workington fan?.. Enjoyed the game last night, two decent teams and Workington certainly proved their worth.

We looked alot better than in recent weeks, far more intensity... Had DW not been sacked then I'm sure last night would have been very different.

We have a very decent team, just enjoying the ride.. Ill be glad to be at a decent level though, no disrespect to the npl west, but its not easy losing to Bootle and the fake Northwich team!

No doubt Workington will be right up there too, was impressed with their ability on the ball.

To cap off a good weekend I notice “World Class” and “you must sign him” Cleethorpes Town Keeper James McKeown flapped at a shot which saw Carlton Town get an important away win in NPL East

Up the Millers.

Just two more wins, or Leek to lose their game in hand on Tuesday, and we beat Trafford next week and we are up.

Same as last season the consistency of the tail end of the season has been brilliant.. Unbeaten since losing at Runcorn in November.

Bring on the Npl Prem.

Great to see and long may it continue. Looks a fun league with a fair few local clubs in there like Leek, Kidsgrove and Castle. Noticed the Hanley Town hobby club seem to have hit the ceiling a bit now. Stafford v Macc next season will be an old school early 90’s conference fixture. Probably be wanting Nantwich and Stalybridge to stay up too.

Was good to see the other day as well Macc going against that new contract that’s being brought in regards injured players.

Mate, for local games it's the best league we've ever been in.. Enjoyed this year far more then the counties league.

Hanley was always going to implode. We get alot of grief for our squad, but we pull 3-4k crowds. Hanley barely get 200.

Next season will be good, some old skool games. As you say stafford, and really hope the North East teams drop so we keep stalybridge and Nantwich.

Embracing the ride. Was shit for us to fold, but what we have now is far better than it ever was.

There’s the thing I think the level a club is at is overrated. Football is the same throughout and if you have a successful team or one that feels like better days are ahead then people will want to come along and get involved. Suppose the one challenge Macc will have when it comes to the EFL at some point is with the pitch as believe they get a decent income off hiring that out unless the EFL changes its policy on that. With what Macc have built though if you do get back up this time I think it’s more than sustainable.

Hanley was always a strange one. Realistically with two established EFL clubs in the city I’m not sure what their whole angle was. Spent some serious dough though. Think they had Ryan Shotton and then our former player Louis Dodds as well as bringing in Dave Kevan as assistant manager who was just months removed from doing the same job at Vale with JA. On gates of a couple hundred nowt dodgy there of course…

Fair shout about the pitch, I suppose it's just deal with it when or if the time comes. We have an owner now though who knows his onions, so I've no concerns about that.

That's the thing though, you're right.. The level is irrelevant.. Do I enjoy us smashing teams and playing good football in the Npl, or hoofball and scraping a draw against the likes of Crawley and Accrington.. 100% I'm enjoying us play with a swagger.. Having said that, especially last year, I've had to Google our opposition!

Disappointing that stalybridge have gone down.. Good local non league club and decent ground. Hear they are also struggling financially so hope for the best with them.

Also hope Nantwich stay up, another local game for us if they do.

Shame for Nantwich that they’ve gone down on the last day. Good setup there so would expect them to be competitive in the league below and bounce back relatively quickly.

Warrington Town have always been there or thereabouts and threatening to go up at some stage.

This could be their season.

Workington and Linnets the two best footballing sides in the Npl West, behind us obviously.. Naturally I'd prefer runcorn for travel reasons.. But workington have been good all season.. It'll be a good final anyway.

Skelmersdale United and North Shields have been demoted from the West (Skem) and East (N Shields) Leagues after failing ground grading

So that means Carlton Town and Widnes FC have been reprieved from the Inter league play off's

The Fixtures for NPL teams in the promotion/relegation play off's are -

Glossop North End (West) v Ashington AFC (NL D1)
Lincoln United (East) v Avro FC (NWCL PD)
Dereham Town (Midlands) v Stotfold FC (SSML PD)
St Neots Town (Midlands) v Lye Town (MFL PD)
