This is becoming a bit farcical now. We will not have had a game since 11th Dec by the time NYD will come around. Another game off and you’ll need to do another pre-season!

I thought the guidance was that you should have 14 fit players to play on. Are these clubs, Luton included, really down to the bare bones? Because we only had a handful of injuries.

Agree that teams should be forced to play youth, next season will be impacted at this rate. I suppose it's the fact that teams can't train though.

Apparently injuries are included so 3-4 with slight strains can count which makes a mockery of the system.

A player might only be out for a week or so .

West Brom were even worse than they were against Barnsley. Hugill isn't good enough for an auto chasing team, not as a regular starter anyway, and Robinson is wasted when he's asked to stay central. Livermore looks past it too.

They'll probably sack this manager and sign a good striker before they play us now.

I see Reading have called off another game. Beginning to look like a bit of a naked attempt to get games called off due to injuries rather than COVID now, first game they called off was ours i believe on 18th December, surely with isolation rules meaning you only need isolate for 7 days rather than 10 they must have 14 players available now. They have a huge playing squad when accounting for their large under 23 set up.

Every club is taking piss, but with Reading... cheating... never!

Not sure everyone is taking the piss to be fair, with isolation rules on contacts and how widespread it’s getting. Not sure why we would have called the Bristol City game off unless we had a genuine issue for instance. We were nice and fresh, Bristol City in bad form (Bristol city fans I notice were delighted it was called off), Boxing Day game at home and we were the ones who asked for the postponement. Playing that game later is of no benefit to us really

It’s when you are calling multiple games off, outside of the usual isolation period you’d have from the initial postponement like reading have done here that starts to look a bit fishy

Nathan Jones certainly made himself look foolish with his comments in his pre match on Xmas Eve, followed 24 hours later by us calling the game off.
Then again, most of his pre match (and post match) comments often bear little resemblance to reality.

Yeah definitely made a rod for his own back with that comment certainly. I also really don’t like him describing the vaccine stuff as a “lifestyle choice” either but yeah.

Anyway in other Not championship related stuff Dewsbury-Hall is currently having a real breakout performance for Leicester against Liverpool tonight. Been quality, showing why we were all drooling about him last season

I see Millwall cried to the league trying to get our game called off and have now named pretty much their strongest possible side with a full bench. If anything we’re missing more players than they are, one of which is our keeper. Some clubs are really trying to take the piss.

They’ve got a 15 year old in there apparently to be fair. Does look a decent side though. I think there argument would be they haven’t trained for 10+ days.

Yes - seems to be missing Jed Wallace and Afobe who are key but then it’s only like if they were injured.

But do think some will be trying to take advantage of the rules a bit .

I have now changed my opinion about games getting postponed. I hope all our games for the rest of the season are called off please and thank you.

No news that ive seen from us this week on how confident we are of getting a team out so your wish may come true. No idea if we have been able to train either, not that it seems to have hurt Millwall tonight.

Thankfully I'm away at New Year so I'm missing that game either way. Play like we did tonight and it'll be your second easiest win of the season, after the reverse fixture of course.

Our game on New Year’s Day officially gone now too. Ridiculous really and NJ looks like a right tit after his comments the day before the Bristol City game.

Next game we will play is Harrogate in the cup on 9th January, almost a month between our previous game at home to Fulham and that one. Next league game isn’t until 15th January so you’d think we would be able to get that one on!

Seems to be one lot get it then it's passed onto another set of teams so we end up with a domino affect.

EFL apparently stopping testing on the day of a game to try and avoid last minute postponements like we have seen in recent weeks. Certainly feels a bit counter to the whole idea of why you test in the first place but maybe going toward the idea of “learning to live with it”.

Step closer to some sports in the states where if you don’t have symptoms they don’t bother testing at all I dont think.

Probably be good for fans if fakes aren’t called off late but a bit risky if players have symptoms but aren’t tested .

Well this was the case up until fairly recently. I really am not seeing the benefits of testing people that are healthy.

Stronger team than I expected for this afternoon, hopefully Covid hasn't taken too much of a toll on some of them and they last the 90.

Iversen
VDB - Bauer - Hughes
Potts - Whiteman - Johnson - Earl
Browne
Riis - Evans

Stoke are hit or miss but wouldn't complain with a point.

Deserved that, good away job but managed to dominate the ball, especially in the second half.

Apart from a 30 yard wonder goal (try and see this thunder bastard if you can) and a few set pieces we limited them to pretty much nothing from open play. Potts' goal was also class, cheeky, Di Canio-esque scissor kick.

The wing backs improved in the second half, the back three and keeper was solid and the midfield all did their job. Evans made life hard for them up top too.

My only concern is that Riis doesn't look suited to possession based football at all, he's a 'get the ball forward as quickly as possible' striker, so hopefully it's just a case of him adapting.

2 wins in 2 and all 6pts were deserved, impressive performance considering we've had Covid cases and haven't played in 3 weeks.
