You think our season done Oakey? League pretty open.

I know the parachute moneybags lot seem aligned for the top 6. But if we stay whole by Feb we have a sneaky shot for some end of season fun and stick it to the big boys. Or if not a big boy, then them lot down the road.

yeah...i reckon Belly...
dont get me wrong but if we emulate last season and make the top 6 then it keeps us classed as "one of the better teams" in the championship rather than "perennial strugglers"...which is refreshing.
until the new stadium is ready for business...i'll settle for that at present...
onwards and upwards but not upwards and downwards...

I'm hoping paybacks a bitch and we dent their (Twatfords) hopes of going up, would be great to improve our ladder position but do feel we have some surprises in the waiting left for those big boys.

We have Brum away and I couldn't give a shit.

Get those 6 wins to stay up and wrap up another pointless season of Preston North End.

Do you lot just have one thread for all matchday talk? What kind of a two-bit operation are you running here?

Is this the right place to say that this is an absolutely belting freekick from Twine, gets better with each view.

Our Wigan odyssey concludes today. Feels like January has gone on forever and we only ever seem to play bloody Wigan!

Late win in the replay midweek, only a hardy few went to that and credit to them, from the highlights looks like we might have it done sooner the 98th minute. Wasn’t hugely impressed with Wigan in either game I’ve seen against them but they won one and drew the other. Don’t expect it to be a pretty or entertaining game today but would be great to grind out a classic away win given home form is a bit meh this season

Wonder if any games will get called off today? You would have to be a very small, inadequate club to fail to host a football match while playing in the second tier.

Plenty of star performers out but love our depth these days considering we are small fry here.

That Wigan side on paper should never be bottom of the League

Massive long ball merchants today but it's been effective. The pace of Delap and Cannon has caused them a lot of problems.

Comfortable first half. Keep it up.

Crap second half, scraped over the line. That Jukebox absolutely bullied Storey at the back post for their goal.

Ledson was man of the match. Delap & Cannon look really promising.

Almost total control. We expend a lot of energy and dont let people settle and it gets results as dont create as much as id like from our open play, but thanfully we're pretty clinical.

That ref a real oddball - physically and his decisions.

Andy Woolmer. I’ve no idea how he is still reffing at this level. Every time I see him as the ref I let out a groan as you know you are in for a bizarre afternoon. Wouldn’t mind it’s it’s not the easiest job but he’s got a horrible attitude with it too.

Good example of why we probably won’t go up unless key injured players come back and play well .

Our goal was very good but a lack of quality generally.

TBF Rotherham caused trouble with their pace and were a threat .

Blackburn drew a game?!

Luton win the 4-match series with Wigan 2-1.

I really hope that’s the last time we play them for a while.

As for our season being over - are you serious? Have you looked at the league table. Got a couple more winnable games coming up next, plus still in the FA Cup.

If we play our cards right in the next few months, we could be in dreamland again.

Always seem to struggle first half under Bilic and generally if we let the first goal in.

We aren’t that great as it is and these injuries really escalated the problem.

It’s getting beyond a joke .

No wonder teams like Boro look better than us.

Sloppy display. We arent clicking with our final balls into or in and around the box and our corners need work as we lack any threat

Big opportunity for us tonight, if we win I think we go into 4th level on points with 3rd with a game in hand on everyone else in the playoffs.

Unfortunately home form has been spotty at best and I see it as being another of those games where the away side, this time Cardiff who are in a bad state, look to sit in and try and force us to make the play. Doesn’t really suit us and we far prefer sides who try and come onto us than the other way around hence have been better away this year.

Need to look at the defence which was sloppy in the cup at the weekend too but options there perhaps a bit limited. You’d imagine Drameh would come in on the right and have Doughty on the left which feels like it could be quite potent.

Got there in the end with the game very much as TFCH (who btw signed for Luton this day just ten short years ago. How time flies and how weve grown) predicted.

Deserved but wobbly at the back at times. Desperate for a decent dedicated DM so lets hope Marvelous is Mar........ok obv.

Solid start for Drameh. Doughty on opposite side was good but pegged back a lot more in the second half and then what a ball for the winner after some great football and a sustained attack.

Bell stronger in the back three where he can do what he does best. Not sure weve found the right spot for Woodrow. Perhaps hes the backup striker we need as hes not done it as a 10 yet. See Admiral recalled tonight too.

So looks bye and thanks a ton to Harry for great service at the club. Great personality and speed merchant. Take some of that Bristol cash son. All the best.

Good win although made tough weather of it. Pretty much how most of our home games go this season Cardiff looked to sit in and makes us have the majority of the ball and we struggle with that as most of our players are built for the high press and fast turnovers and not patiently building up. We get to the penalty area and then lack the ability to make something of it very often which can lead to frustration. Successive managers have looked to Woodrow in the 10 role as a solution to this and I remain fairly unconvinced by that, think he gets lost too easily.

We had so many crosses and corners it felt like a repeat of many home games where we would leave frustrated especially after the penalty miss. This time though we managed to get the break through eventually finally got a decent delivery and Adebayo made up for his miss by being aggressive and attacking it well. Cardiff offered very little so would have been very disappointing to have only drawn the game.

Drameh was good on debut, Fred deputised well when he came on for him as well which was good to see. Need to find a way to be better in attacking areas and feels like Edwards knows this too. We managed to find a way tonight which is the main thing and up to 4th. Did not think that would’ve been the case when Jones left I must admit

We're certainly stronger for the the remainder of the season with the three additions. Genuine competition up front and in midfield, but we still lack a proper RWB and ball-playing ability in the back three.

The home form needs to improve, so testing ourselves against a bottom half side this weekend should show if Lowe is willing to be more attacking at home.

My team would be:

Woodman
Diaby, Lindsay, Hughes
Whiteman
Browne, Onomah, DJ, Brady
Evans, Delap

Cornell, Storey, Fernandez, Ledson, McCann, Parrott, Cannon

I think Cardiff will end up improving as the season goes on and may end up towards mid table, no better. Alike the Bristol City comments on the other thread, they seem to just buy expensive dross and underachieve despite their purchasing power.

Their new manager had his team in the same mould as his last club. Very dangerous on the counter attack, but I thought that was their only outlet.

Not sure what was going on with Perry Ng and why the Luton players were rubbing their noses in it with him - maybe because he tripped Pelly up towards the hoardings a few minutes before which looked accidental more than anything.

Next 2 games v Stoke and Coventry. A real chance to consolidate that top 4 spot.
