Early days but you probably won’t get a more fortunate penalty than the one Hull got .

Talk about a delayed fall..about 5 seconds after potentially being touched by the Bristol City defender .

https://www.skysports.com/amp/footb...-2-1-bristol-city-tigers-hit-back-for-victory

The likes of Kane and Salah would have been proud of it .
Less than a second after getting the defenders studs down the back of his ankle. He takes two steps the second of which is onto the foot that has been raked at which point he goes down. Unless you think that an attacker who'd got himself into a shooting position on the edge of the 6 yard box would decide instead to fall over and hope the ref would be fooled into giving a penalty? See following photo.

Ok fair enough - they only showed one replay and didn’t really go into detail about it - certainty no up close photo image.

There was a touch definitely but it look like he went down as an after thought but clearly not .

Classic example of maybe if a ref came out and explained why he made that decision people might understand more ?

Unfortunately there probably are players who would go down in any situation these days.

Just saw it was Naismith who gave this away. Absolutely classic weakness of his at centre half, going to ground too readily.

Played well first half yesterday but Coventry dominated second half and deserved a point if not more. Top 6 for Coventry imo, they play some good football. Shame some of their fans threw stuff down on our supporters including a glass bottle of beer. Every club has it’s idiots but doing that shit is dangerous. I’ll be happy with a mid table finish but i’m under no illusions and know it’s gonna be a tough season. Championship is so unpredictable. Onto Bristol City next.

We wuz robbed!

Comical penalty decision, the fact that you have taken the time to create a still to try and justify it, says it all.

I didn't, I just copied one of the press photos from the game. Here's another one for you:

Looking at that, you would have thought it would have taken his leg out from under him, but instead he had time to take a picture of his tea, and send the picture by whatsapp to his mum before he went down.

Fouls like that when a foot is planted often don't take the leg away, that's why they can cause serious injuries sometimes. And Tetteh took two more steps before that same foot gave way beneath him. You can watch it on the highlights, it's really not difficult. Get a grown-up to show you how.

My parents (they were grown ups by the way) always taught me that if you had to resort to swear words or insults, then you have lost the argument.

So like I said, "We wuz robbed"!

From the highlights seems Naismith - who does like to loose his mind and dive in - was at the centre of a back three? Thats a mistake and bad spot for him imo. Striker does take an absolute age to go down, so can see why Bristol fans are a bit pissy and it was the third shout theyd had which we all know tott up in a refs head with crowd pressure.

Sarr and Dennis start ..

We’ll see how motivated they are I guess!

And will they be here after August 31st?

Really interested to see how this goes with Watford and Edwards.

A good coach no doubt but some of the stuff he’s said in interviews I’ve heard gives me big “Jones to Stoke” vibes.

Lot of stuff about attitude and team spirit and stuff, not sure it works with the likes of Dennis, Sarr and the “elite” prima donna types that inhabit these ex-premier league clubs. They want telling how great they are not that they need to muck in

Yea they played well last night ( Pedro was the best player though ) but as I say will they still br fully motivated on 6-8 weeks time .

A decent win and solid performance against a side not at their best but tough side .

West Brom next !

Don’t think either side looked that great, for Watford despite what I thought wasn’t that great approach play once they got it into the final 3rd that front 3 look very lively. Keep hold of them they will be there or thereabouts probably regardless of if they can work out what’s happening in midfield with the ball, have the quality to make things from nothing and cover a lot of ills I think.

Having said that the Goal was a complete cock up by Sheffield United, from the poor corner, the total mess up on halfway where it should have been easily cut out and then the mess off the offside trap.

Yes agree .

Good goal from our point of view but avoidable from SUs.

O'Hare out until after the World Cup, and no money to replace him. In other words, we're fucked.

Think I'd be happy with survival this season.

Watford first 11 is still pretty ridiculous, I think they'll get automatics as per.

Depends if Sarr and Dennis stay .

Look very different should they leave as we have no real back ups and the rest of the team probably will be ok at this level but not outstanding.

First home game of the season tomorrow, and I can't wait!.

Sunderland bringing around 3k - fair play to them for such a long trip, and gate expected to be up to 25k, which for us is almost a full house, so should be a great atmosphere in the sun!

Decent performance last week but a disappointing result, so hopefully we can perform again tomorrow and get some points on the board.

3-1

Burnley away for us tomorrow. They looked very good I thought last week, moved the ball exceptionally well against Huddersfield especially in the first half so expecting a challenging afternoon.

Having said that I Do feel it’s a good time to play them as Kompany is implementing a different style of play and newly relegated sides do sometimes get rocked early on as they adjust to the different level.

From what I saw last week they are a slow build up from the back team who like to be with the ball, that might suit us and our style rather than having to be forced to make the running we can get onto pressing them and create dangerous situations off that.

Expect Fernandez will come into the side, hopefully for Potts down the right, can't really drop Brady, make the most of him while he's available.

Everyone calling for McCann to start but not sure where he fits in.

I think we could be in big trouble this season. Pitch is absolutely fucked, sounds like the Rotherham game has no chance of going ahead, and the cup game on Wednesday will also be off too. Add this to the O’Hare injury, and our pre-existing financial difficulties and it’s really starting to pile up. Sooner Wasps go bust the better.

Was only after 7 man rugby which is mainly passing and running so what is going to happen when the big boys of the 15 man game come out to play with their rucks and mauls !?

Cornick starts over Morris today which I think is the right move. Think we will definitely see Morris at some point but given Burnley are likely to dominate the ball his pressing ability probably better.

Same midfield and defence as last week so seems Doughty injury is perhaps a slightly more serious one than a knock which is a bit of a blow and a dampener on the start of his career here. Hopefully not “one of those” types of player. Means we have to start Potts again which whilst he did a decent job last week against what I thought was a pretty impotent Birmingham side, I can see Barnes targeting him in particular this week.

Absolutely dominated Hull today. Hit both posts, Ingram made a bunch of saves, but had to settle for 0-0.

Brady ran the show and Browne was really good.

Parrott needs to take one of those chances, he's class at everything else but he'll be judged on goals.

We should have 6pts on the board based on chances. Defensively untroubled, but need to convert, fingers crossed it clicks

Decent point I feel, would have taken it before if offered. Always that slight tinge of disappointment to have lead early and let it slip but was a good first half by all accounts and a bit more of a backs to the wall tough out the point performance in the second.

How could you have had 6 points based on chances when on the opening day you had 2 on target but part of the same move to Wigans 5 on target? Also Wigan had a lot more shots overall. We were definitely the better side but not by a great deal, I think a draw was probably fair, 2nd half Preston were on the back foot.

Good point for us at Norwich today. They dominated possession but our defending was excellent, Norwich got frustrated with being unable to create too many clear cut chances and just start padded by shooting on sight and only twice troubling Amos, 1 going in. Shame Lang didn't convert as despite being miles second best in the first 30 mins, we created the best 2 chances and could have gone 2 up at half time.

Need extra bodies and 2 or 3 players to come into our starting 11 but we look a solid, competitive team at this level and good foundations to build on throughout the season and two transfer windows.

You had 4 pea rollers from outside the area. The only threat you offered was from long throws and set pieces but we dealt with them comfortably. Therefore, you offered no threat.

We spurned two one on ones when your keeper did well and then clipped the bar.

Only one team was going to win that game.
