Not that I know anything about kit design but would that shirt look better without the blue/green slashes across it? It's not awful mind you.

Also who/what are Mills?

The kit was created by a fan and was one of 4 options. I’d say this was probably the best of the lot.

Mills are an Indonesian kit sponsor. Think we got them in largely because of our investors being Indonesian. This is the second season we’ve had them. They give us a lot more freedom in terms of kit design etc in comparison to Puma who we had previously where it’s the same offerings as other teams. It’s also a lot cheaper to make so more profit for the club when they sell it on. I was impressed with them last season with the gear that was released.

Ah fair enough, wasn't aware of the Indonesian link. I just went on the Mills website and they provide kits for the Indonesian national team as well as 5 other Indonesian (I'm assuming) league sides. A little surprised not to see Tranmere stuff available on their website. Could have been a chance to 'grow the brand'

The exact template that I always expect them to use - simple simplicity - and in true Claret and Amber colourway.

That Bradford one is lovely. Shame about the sponsor at the top on the back as I don't reckon that looks great but I guess most kits have them nowadays. I like that it's full stripes on the back too, not a big shape of solid colour for the number. That'll make it tricky to see numbers but is better for fans/replicas I reckon.

Our new kit supposedly got leaked ahead of launch, I’m told this is it, if it isn’t it’s a pretty detailed fake, black away kit too supposedly.
All GOLD third kit, very nice.

Why the obsession with hoops, when I first started watching Rotherham v Donny games in the mid sixties you had proper red and white kits, you even had a Rotherham kit for 3 years in the eighties lol. (just think hoops belong in Rugby, sorry).

I hated those kits for obvious reasons (sorry) the first kit I had was the same as Bayern Munich’s back in the late 70’s. To answer the question, the most successful period in the club’s history until recently was in the 1950’s where we played in hoops, John Ryan took over after the firestarter nearly destroyed us and basically brought them back to give us an identity and to hopefully bring back those type of years. It worked and so we as fans are basically invested in that style of kit.

Makes sense, it's my unexplainable dislike of hooped football shirts that made me ask the question.
We abandoned the white sleeves a few times over my lifetime but always we revert back to our 50's heyday style.

Anyway whatever you get today will ne an improvement on last years that's for sure.

Good luck for the season, you look to be getting a few decent signings in so should at least be at the top end of the table, especially with GM taking advice from PW lol.

Donny need hoops purely because when you lot ditch the white sleeves you and Barnsley are too similar. Can't be having three red shirt and white short teams in South Yorkshire. Always found it slightly weird that there are more red Yorkshire teams than Lancs teams personally.

Cheers and yourselves, I’ve no problem with GM taking advice off PW, he could do a lot worse and I’ve personally got a lot of admiration for him and the job he’s done

I know you can't judge a team's performance from a kit but those kits have a whiff of relegation about them.

We did one time, the season we had the red sash but yeah. I don't necessarily mind a darker blue every now and again but without the white shorts and with very little red it doesn't look very Carlisle. Looks rather Southend.

I don't mind the away kit though

We tend to get promoted when our kits are shocking! I like them, home kit has a PSG aura about it, and well the away kit has a Bradford aura which isn't so good.

I actually wondered if we've changed our colour to make it less likely for us to have to wear our away kit at home under the new colourblindness rules

Holdsworth had an obsession with other teams' kits like the Netherlands orange he came up with two seasons ago, I think he's done the same.

I want people to remember this. Shoddy mentioned the R word this season before me.
I'm sure you started talking about it as soon as safety was assured last season.

But you know when you just look at a kit and get this hunch, without even taking into account factors like the squad 'this kit's gonna go down in infamy'

I’ve maybe mentioned the word in general terms, but as yet I haven’t said or hinted that we are going to be r______d this season yet. You’ve beaten me to it.

Strangely enough hellogregory has predicted relegation to Non League for the last 27 years and it's never happened yet since the return of the Messiah it hasn't crossed his lips. Hmmm.

it happened in 2003/4 when they got relegated to the Conference. - so not "never happened" - just not as often as he predicted.

And do you know who our manager was that season?
