Entering that period where the race begins to hot up. We are off to a decent start.

Too soon for anybody in the top 15 to give up on the playoffs - I'd go so far as to say even Colchester and Grimsby could yet mount a challenge if they string some results together. It's a very strange division this season...

Grimsby's games in hand mean they could hold an outside chance, but certainly not for us - we'd need to win at least 13 of our last 15 you would think.

Just spotted that you've played more games than everybody bar Orient, so you're probably right. You may as well lie down for us next week, just to be sure ;)

We've got this nailed on. Can't score to save our lives but have a solid defence.

We’ve won this before and we’re so inconsistent that I definitely fancy us to win it again.

But, but, that would make it consistent?

My money's on Col U. Well, it isn't, because I don't bet, but if I did it would be.

Great form but too late for a playoff charge, paticularly with that big pack ahead of them.

Winning the MTC last season was clearly the springboard to our success this year.

We’re well in this hunt. We’ll know more after back to back home games this week against sides in the pack just above.

Yep, sensing another boring 0-0 draw in our match later on in the season with both sides vying for midtable glory.

I assume we are the current holders after finishing eighth last season.

Yep unfortunately Gatekeeper, Sutton did so badly in this last season that you're actually competing in the Johnstone's Paint Mid-table Shield this season.

How dare you try and take away from our glorious history? Keep your grubby, hoofballing mitts off.
Yes, Orient won it, pipping Hartlepool by seconds watching the vidi-printer on the time games finished.

We’re going to be joining this soon. But i would have absolutely taken this at the start of the season so can’t complain too much.

I think we could be outsiders for this based on current form.

Pete Wild is doing at Barrow what he did at Halifax it seems.

Start off great with an unfancied team, stagnate a bit disappointedly and fade off. But over the piece, it's still a good job so nobody grumbles too much.

I don't know why it is, I saw him fist pumping and celebrating wildly after your win at ours opening day. He genuinely looked like he'd just won the league. That would have sounded sour grapes at the time so I didn't say anything but you wonder if he's a bit of a sugar hit type, he can't surely sustain that level of delight at every win over a 46 game season surely.

We were probably victims of our early success, and I'll include myself in that. If we'd just gradually accumulated points and kept ourselves well clear of any bother no one would've really batted and eyelid. But those were the standards that were set early doors and it's been disappointing that we can't even reach even 50-60% of those levels in the last couple of months.

As for the first pumping, don't know if he did it at Halifax but I've seen loads of people do it in recent years, even after the most routine/expected of wins, Wild included. Probably all started by Klopp and his over-celebrating.

Halifax were exactly the same in his years there. Last season they started like a train, looked like Champion contenders for a bit, faded, finished in the play-offs but looked stale by the end and went out of them in a whimper really. But overall, it was a great season for Halifax and they'd kill to be anywhere near the Play Offs this season.

Given we scored 7 goals and claimed just 2 wins in our first 23 games, it would feel like winning the FA Cup.

Actually, it feels like that for every side each season doesn’t it? It’s the one to win

Yep Paul Hurst does the triple fist pump after every away win of ours.

Does he?? Saturday is the first time I recall seeing him ever do it. Perhaps says more about my choice of away game than anything else though.

I think our chances of lifting this cup are probably slim at best, but looking at our fixtures I still think we'll be in the mix come April/May.

If there’s anything Gills can come up on the outside and win from nowhere this season, this is the one
