Not as many Crewe fans on here than there were when they beat us in Feb. Couldn't move for about 5 or 6 Crewe fans giving essays on how good they were, where Challinor was going wrong and how they were coming for us.

One or two have stuck it out (Crewelad87 is one) but a few are conspicuous by their absence.

They aren't alone following the full time whistle yesterday. That's human nature and more importantly that's how football forums work Stocky. I thought you would know that by now.

Our forum and my group chats etc are actually more quiet when we're winning!

Agreed that's the case club individual message boards but certainly isn't for this forum.
In the next breath you'll say we all play our teams down too much and we should all predict our teams to win every week.

You are a man of many contradictions mate.

Ermmmm no I wouldn't. You should predict your team win if it's far more likely than them losing.

Breaking news that's not a contradiction but good attempt nonetheless.

Still insist that was very much a bottle like performance yesterday, missing open nets, tap ins, suicidal defending of which we haven’t done all season.

If we do go up we will do it by limping, got to win against FGR on Tuesday and not lose to MK.

I just don't know what you're on about pal. I often wonder what points you're trying to make to be honest. Just seems a load of contradictions and waffle that take threads off tangent in my opinion.

We are limping over the line to get into the play offs, and when I say limping its quite literally limping. 10 players out injured again yesterday for our game at Accrington, most of which you would make a strong case they would start.
I had a feeling ages ago that a) I wouldn't get tickets for the league game, so went to the tinpot game back in Oct, b)got a feeling we'd secure promotion away at you guys. I'm going to be really pissed off if that is the case.

We could, technically, get promotion next Saturday, but we need to beat Crawley on Tuesday and FGR and hope that Mansfield take points off franchise.

Things stretch out a little bit after this weekends games, but it's still close. Stockport are looking good bets for the title, especially if they can make their games in hand count. Automatic promotion is looking close as well, especially is Mansfield drop more points.

Wrexham get a good come from behind win at Colchester and are doing their best to keep pace with Stockport. 3 home games out of 4 left now. MK are also looking strong and are trying to push for that 3rd spot.

Barrow and Crewe have lost a bit of form, both need 4-6 points more to secure a PO spot. Crawley are flying right now, but still a couple of tricky games left in their remaining 5.

The PO pack is slowly closing the gap, but maybe too slowly. Walsall look the most likely to maybe snatch one of the PO spots, they'll need to make their 3 straight home games count. Morecambe have a do or die game against Crewe on Tuesday, win that and they might still have a chance.

Well that's been obvious for awhile. Will make a lot more sense buddy when you can wrap your head around what a contradiction is.

Walsall are the one that worry me. Everyone else outside should, should have too much to do or left it too late if we can get another 4-6 points. It's well within our hands to make other results irrelevant, really don't want it to boil down to that last home game against Mansfield.

It's permutations galore with us at the moment but if we win at Colchester on Tuesday we're more or less definitley up. If Mansfield were to lose too then we would be officially (P) due to MK and Mansfield still to play each other but any win for us and it's all but sealed due to our massive goal difference advantage over MK Dons.

Not sure we will actually win Tuesday mind, Colchester are grinding now and a quick turnaround for us with travel and a few knocks from today from one pudding pitch at Sutton to another on Tuesday.. Fingers crossed the job isn't too far away from completion. Not overly arsed about going for the title but we will play till the end no matter the outcome Challinor and our lads are a good team but an honest team to boot. We will go for it if the opportunity arises no matter the wounded bodies.
Is our pitch that bad? Didn’t look that heavy at all, couple of worn bits in the middle but mostly ok. Certainly far worse out there. I’d say Colchester would have been extended far more physically and mentally in their game versus Wrexham. You should win comfortably (again).

This Tuesday I think could have a big factor on if we stay in the play offs. IF we win and Crawley and Walsall both lose, then I think that's us as good as in the play offs. Same with Barrow aswell. Crawley and Walsall probably couldn't have tougher games either away at Wrexham and Doncaster. Barrow have probably there most winnable game on Tuesday again if they lose that they could be really looking over there shoulders, likewise ourselves if we get beat at Morecambe.

Nice one Stockport.

Good set of results those for us tonight, maybe playing and winning as well was too much to ask, if we did we'd be the same as Crewe, pretty much there. If everyone from 5th downwards keeps up their win some, lose some form we should be fine.

I don't think we'd win the playoffs, but would be nice to get there with at least a couple of good games with good atmospheres in hopefully good weather.

I think we qualified for the playoffs tonight, yay.

If we can find a way of not losing saturday it would be magic.

Stockport and Wrexham are up. Realistically either Mansfield (70% chance) or MK (20% chance) will join them. I'd say Crewe/Barrow have a 10% chance between them, but that's only if Mansfield fail to beat MK at the weekend.
Play off's will be Mansfield or MK, plus Crewe and to be joined by probably us and Crawley - but the last 2 places and particularly the last 1 are wide open. We probably need 5 points to be sure.

Your 10% chance for Crewe/Barrow is way too high, I’d put it nearer 2% as one of you would need to win pretty much every game (not happening) and even then you would need both Mansfield and MK Dons to barely pick up any more points (also not happening).
In fact after typing that even 2% sounds like it’s too high too.

I agree no higher than a 2% chance of Autos for either of us. Stranger things have probably happened in football though, and this relys on Mansfield bottling it, something they have form for.

We're far from up. If we slip up Saturday and MK win then it's a fight to the death.

If Stockport wrap the title up before the last day it would be handy.

Yeah two games against teams scrapping for points and then a final match against Champions Stockport who will want to rub the title in our faces I'm sure.

It's getting closer but still work to do.

If we win saturday i think that pretty much promotes us and wrexham.

However, as has been mentioned naturally we’ve basically got our entire defence out when it matters (when will the luck ever change) and as such it’s going to be extraordinarily hard.

There’s no way you slip up against Forest Green. Enjoy your promotion

Taking nothing for granted, they went to Crewe and destroyed them in the first half. Admittedly those are the only goals they've scored in their last 6 games but even so.

Our experience from last season in playing pressure games serves us well I think, it did last night. We should be confident though.
