Very, very difficult to predict who will go down, most clubs are stable ownership wise. I have gone with the two weakest squads IMO, but who knows.

Let's see if I can go one better than last years 2nd place!

1. MK Dons
2. Doncaster
3. Chesterfield
4. Gillingham
5. Notts County
6. Tranmere
7. Colchester
8. Port Vale
9. Walsall

Can't see past MK for the league. Williamson transformed them mid-season after a shaky start and they look stronger and more defensively solid now. Should be Top 3 at the bare minimum. Doncaster have the best manager in the league and if he keeps up the form that got them on that amazing run then they'll certainly be up there. I feel Chesterfield are a very strong looking side too with a few players boasting recent Championship experience let alone League 1 experience and they have the strength and winning mentality which will help them immensely in their quest for back to back promotions.

Playoffs are a crap shoot. Bonner did well at this level last time with Cambridge and I believe his Gillingham side will score a lot more this season which should see them into the Top 7 with the strength in depth they have. I've gone for three surprises to support it. I think Notts will be this seasons Doncaster. I can see them starting badly and Maynard being sacked early doors but I feel they'll get the next appointment spot on and it'll spur them on. I can see them being a lot better defensively too. Tranmere's excellent home form went under the radar and I think Adkins will make Prenton Park a fortress. And Colchester under the Cowleys could well be like Crawley under Scott Lindsey transformation wise. The Cowleys know the local football scene and could unearth a few gems and they look to have built a squad that'll do so much better than last season. They're my surprise package.

I dont think any of the relegated sides from L1 go back up. Vale's big question mark is Darren Moore. Doesn't know this level and he's been a disaster so far. He's built a very good squad for this level but I still think Carol will give him too much time and he'll flatter to deceive. They'll replace him with someone who knows the league and they'll finish just short of Top 7. For their perceived riches, not exactly been enticed by Carlisle's recruitment and can see them winning the mid-table Cup and Simpson being binned. I think Fleetwood and Cheltenham will really struggle in comparison, especially the latter. Flynn is damaged goods and if he doesn't pull loanee rabbits out the hat which carry the team as he's done at his previous 3 clubs, then they could be at risk of double dropping.

Despite Morecambe's well documented issues, they don't have the worst squad in the world on paper and Del Boy will definitely keep them up unless he walks again. I think they survive. Newport look shy of goals now theyve sold Will Evans and if CBR is your marquee signing with his 1 goal since November plus an unknown manager then that's potentially the sign of a doomed club. Accrington have had a well documented budget cut and I'm not sure Doolan will even have a tenth of the impact Coleman has had for that club. I can see Holty begging for Coleman to come back around winter but I'm sure he won't. They look very weak and at real risk of relegation.

As for us, we'll regress naturally after the highs of last season. We've rebuilt the squad and yet I'm underwhelmed at first glance. I think our GK situation will let us down yet again as Booth is a crock (and also not the best keeper) plus Marschall looks a recipe for disaster based on his performances at MK. The defence looks a lot thinner and weaker but Offord and Adebisi were always going to be tough to replace. The midfield still looks injury prone and even our attack looks as injury prone as it did last season. I dont back any of these strikers to have Nevitt's durability. Keep playing with fire you'll get burnt and we never learn from our mistakes. I predict another massive injury list throughout the season but enough quality to see us not trouble relegation but have a brief flirt with the playoffs. Fingers crossed we get taken over so we can stop signing crocks and actually take the GK position seriously for a change.

Wouldn’t say Moore has been a disaster, Pep Guardiola wasn’t saving that Vale side last season with no transfer window!

‘Rent free’ he says, yet he’s the one coming onto the League 2 forum of his own accord and spouting his usual tripe.

Can’t see you improving.....you’ve dropped at least 17 points just on Barra alone :)
