some interesting games this weekend especially towards the bottom, a lot of the struggling teams facing each other.

yet another tough game for us, Pompey away but we are in decent form and will fancy our chances of getting something. We’re playing some lovely football and combining that with the 2nd best defence in the league.

We’re playing some shite football, augmented by comical defending of Monty Python proportions.

Toughie at Accrington for us, which is the first of our week long west side tour of the UK with Swindon on Tuesday then Plymouth on the Saturday!

Our mini break came at a good time. Monstma and Walsh are nearing returns, Melbourne, Jackson, Eyoma and Bridcutt are back but we're without Howarth who went off injured in midweek, Soule (who is out injured until after his loan spell ends in January so has gone back to WBA) and Morton again (out until 'well into the New Year').

Our games against Accy are usually pretty good but we have a terrible record at their place.

The game at their place last season was farcical, by far the wettest I've been at a game, led 3 times and still come away with nowt - grim.

MA has my sympathy, he's been here for 14 months and for 99% of this has had to rely on one striker through injury which is a pain.

Tough weak coming up having to travel 1000+ miles, will be delighted with a point on Saturday.

Wimbledon at home for us, and a game of guess the goalie. Loanee Gavin Bazunu apparently picked up a knock on Eire U21 duty; Jay Lynch hasn't done too much wrong when deputising in the last couple of seasons, but likewise hasn't nailed a regular spot; youth player Ben Chalton has been on the bench a couple of times, and is well thought of but has no first team experience; former loanee Andy Lonergan is apparently training with us to keep his fitness up, but has not been signed (yet).

Further forward, Kwadwo Baah and Steve Humphrys are nearing full fitness, with both playing in a midweek development squad match. Maybe on the bench, although both have been missed.

For anyone who says Wimbledon are a johnny-come-lately outfit, its nearly 44 years since I saw their original incarnation lose 2-0 at Spotland to a Bobby Scaife brace. A similar result this time, with Matt Lund continuing his goalscoring form, would be nice.

We’ve never beaten Sunderland but given their recent form I thought we might have a chance however the fates have conspired against us once again, Sunderland appear to be on the verge of a takeover that could cause unity within the club especially the players and we’ve just had our keeper recalled 3 days before the game, lump on the Mackems

Ordinarily a pretty raucous local derby with gas heads getting soaked on Stratton Bank but tomorrow a game between 2 pretty bad league 1 sides, both under new management. We can’t defend but I have a feeling Sheridan might attempt to tighten things up so I’ll go for a 1-1 draw.

Home to Crewe. Not expecting to have too much possession going on what I've heard on here from the Crewe match reports.

This game is likely to follow the same pattern as most of Crewe's games this season. Although our defensive record isn't bad on paper, a decent football team will definitely boss the midfield and create chances against us. We do have better finishers though, so I'll go for a tight 1-1 and Crewe feeling hard done by.

If this is accurate then I’m looking forward to 3pm. Our finishing has improved significantly in recent weeks (though we do still miss at least 1 big chance per game). And bizarrely for us we are fantastic defensively, and never seem to concede more than one. Could well sneak a win today if we settle ourselves with an early goal.

Blimey, don’t know about our line-up here.

We don’t have any fit centre halves, will do well to get something here I think.

Been supporting Charlton for 25+ years and seen some honking decisions go against us, that Gillingham penalty decision probably gets in the top 3.

Frustrating game. We weren’t good but another game into our unbeaten run and just glad we didn’t lose to that awful decision.

What have Crewe done in that 1st half? Not even gonna comment on the 2 goals. Worse than schoolboy so can’t really do them justice. But how wasteful have we been YET again. Daniel Powell actually missed from on the line.

It’s getting very frustrating especially vs the bigger teams like Pompey, Hull and Ipswich who have the quality to score from a mistake at the back. We’ve once again dominated the game 70 odd % possession, loads of corners, given there full backs nightmares, then miss chances from a yard out.

Whilst very much in the game and looking half likely to get back into it, first half has been massively underwhelming. No idea why we have Mcgavin on dead ball deliveries

4-0 up with 29% possession. This is peak Jackettball.

We deserve it for going the ball away on the edge of our box. Also helps you though when the officials are this bad, how they gave you the throw for the 4th god knows.

We need to move on from this as quick as we can. However, DO NOT just forget about this performance like some fans are suggesting. That is a fucking losers attitude and utterly spineless. We need to acknowledge where we went catastrophically wrong in defence today, and promise ourselves that we will never allow that to happen again. Learn from it, and improve. Don’t just forget about it. That would be utterly unprofessional.

Ps. Not having our goalkeeper at all. You want him to bail out his defenders mistakes on at least 2 of them goals today.

Thought Crewe were a combination of excellent, unlucky & also completely naive at times. Love the football you play, and you have some serious young talent in there. Pickering in particular, his delivery was exceptional and he’s surely destined for a higher level.

For us I thought we were ruthless on the break; we looked dangerous during every attack and just as importantly, today was a great example of how streetwise and switched on we’ve become. With Jacobs still to come back I’m feeling quietly optimistic about our chances, there is a different feel about this team now. Naylor and Cannon are a brilliant pairing, we just need some more quality cover there.
