We started the season with the fifth largest wage bill according to our chairman and that was around £650,000 per annum, by the end it would have been quite a bit more than that as we signed several players,

The teams at the start of the season who had more than us were Forest Green, Eastleigh, Tranmere and Gateshead.
Going off your figures, Grimsby Town have massively over achieved this season then by making the play offs on such a small budget, fabulous.
Paul Hurst, you genius!

I don't know any figures but I have been told our budget is in the same ball park as yours although that's clearly influenced by the £500,000 investment we had last summer from a fan and from the parachute payments.

I remember reading in the NLP a few weeks back that Welling are paying their players £100/£150 a week, or summat to that effect, so if you two are paying within that region or less then each win is a real achievement, as I would've reckoned that sort of money is about par for Step 3. I'm surprised Chester's is £330k too, would've guessed at £500k. Maybe budget is the one thing fans are modest about. I think our average player is on £500/600 a week, although we currently only have about eight of them.
Sacking Burr didn't come cheap and that money will come out of next season's playing budget apparently.

I would imagine Wrexham's was more than £650K

I'm pretty sure we estimated Barrow's was much more than that too - and chairman reckons ours was a "top half" budget. I think there's a lot of teams/fans talking down their budget when really they're miles off.
