It takes a shit shit team to lose this game today. Sadly we are the very definition of shit.

I know but two of our key attacking players were out injured and he desperately needs to get a creative midfielder in before the window shuts or we're fucked with Mellish playing in midfield.

Decent win and overall a solid start to the season.

Josh Key has taken brilliantly to the first team and it’s great to have young players break into the team.

We still can’t keep a clean sheet but a good win nonetheless.

I think we are a long way off being a "good" side but its great seeing a lot of the youngsters really stepping up into the professional game. A few of these lads will certainly go on to have big careers in the game by the looks of it.

Mansfield have the players but as mentioned above seem to need some tactical options either off the bench or in style of play.

On paper we've had a fairly tough start to the campaign. Will be interesting to see how we stack up against Cambridge.

Edit: oh just seen the notlob score.... YIKES! LOLTON.

Exactly this. it could be the difference between relegation and a solid mid table finish.

Managed to get £170 quid off a 5 quid acca. Watford, Ipswich, Swindon, Exeter to win & over 2.5 in Everton / Palace

Got £10 on United, Oxford, Bradford, Swansea which have all come in, plus Chelsea in a bit. Cash out currently £121, or £212 returns if Chelsea win.

Not a bad day
Oof, hope you took the cash out!

Harrogate are shit houses but very good at it. If they don't go full pelt and manage the busy schedule well, they'll comfortably finish mid table. Need to be careful they don't burn themselves out by February though.

Positives for us - another game unbeaten, another clean sheet, still sit 2nd with a decent set of games coming up. Hope our very good squad depth pays dividends in a busy October. Good not to lose and even better not to concede, if you're not at your usual level of performance.

They were very good at what they do, similar to Stevenage sides when they came up. Lacked that quality up front and Legge gobbled up most of it but solid defensively and worked tirelessly.

fair play to them.

11 unbeaten league games for us now and look solid enough at the back this season.

Lost 2-1 to Bradford today, not sure if it'd be fair to blame the preparations but we weren't really at it today and Bradford got a deserved win.

Despite being second best we actually led at half time, good work by Dinanga to get the ball into the box, and good persistence by List saw us take the lead, very static defending by Bradford, waiting for the ball to arrive in the box rather than attacking the cross.

Bradford had a couple of very presentable chances to level before getting the equaliser, their goal coming from a great delivery from the right and Novak got a deft touch on the ball to beat the keeper. We were a little unfortunate with the winner, we were temporarily down to 10 men, no one filled in for Prosser at centre back and Novak was left unmarked to make it 2-1. Didn't deserve the point though so can't complain.

Whilst we were poor today we were still far more competitive than last season, I know it's not much of a benchmark! Was impressed by Osbourne and Dinanga today, both coming out of non-league and neither looked out of place. List looking good so far this season, I remember thinking we'd pulled off a coup getting him from Gillingham last season only to be disappointed, has been great this season, hopefully there's more to come.

What do you reckon to Lumsdon saying you have a top 7 squad?
Bull shit. We have some good players but too many gaping holes in key areas to be anywhere near that.

I think we are 1 signing away from being a comfortable mid table squad. But at the moment we look like relegation material.

Well IF we sign a capable midfielder, have no more injuries this season, no suspensions and get the rub of the green in every remaining match we play, then we'll be a top 7 side for sure.

Today result confirms a disappointing start for Mansfield, Exeter deserved that though, no complaints.

I’ve got no problem not particularly performing one weekend and losing to a decent side, it’s the draws against Tranmere and Orient that we should have won that is frustrating.

We didnt do enough to warrant winning the game today draw was probably a fair result. I don't even think we had a shot on target but worrall should have scored that chance 2nd half.

Harrogate work hard close you done block shots be a tough side to beat maybe a side that could challenge top 7.

Good win for Crawley at Oldham today. I had to be out and about today so I've not seen it but we equal our record of away wins from last season.

Must say I was concerned when we signed Tom Nichols but goals in both starts is hard to complain about.

Did someone deflate Kewell's head when we left?

On the other hand, if I remember correctly, Exeter were last a few years ago in October under Tisdale and still managed to make their way into the playoffs that same season without sacking the manager.
It was late November actually.

Four points from three games but three games I thought we would struggle in.
I didnt think we would finish top three and I still dont think we will be near that and I will settle for a quieter season (especially as I doubt we will see much of it in the flesh) but one where a few more youngsters come through and we have moments like today.

I'm expecting the last play off place. Although I'd much rather we missed out. Cba another trip to Wembley to lose at..again

Kewell or Evatt first for the sack then ?

Quite confident today, not arrogant, that we would win.
Very disappointed with our inability to overcome a team with a solid game plan executed to perfection. Horrible niggly game with few highlights. 0-0 was all it deserved.
Still I'd of taken 3 clean sheets and unbeaten.
Hopefully a far better performance next week at Morecambe and Mr Askey please resist the clamour for Pope.

14/1 Bolton now for the league with Salford hot favourite.

Very happy with our draw against Colchester today - they were much better than any team we faced last season and we were the better team. Should've won it really, and a little bit more luck we could be on 7 points.

Have to really fancy us against Carlisle next week.

LOL at Bolton.
No need to laugh....its a long whole season.....and its grim in winter up barra way

would not take that 14/1... Evatt wont be sacked. He is going to have to think long and hard about his first Eleven.
The keeper is not ready for league football. Santos is shocking. White and Comley offer nothing creative in the Middle of the park. Sorry but he has better players that he is not selecting for some reason.

I would've but this Bolton lad on an online forum i go on keeps telling me they're the best thing since sliced bread and they'll walk the league. So I thought there was no chance a club like Newport would win against the massive Bolton Wanderers.

I didn't cash out no

Can't say as I know much about Evatt apart from his playing days.
Personally can't abide the smug prick Kewell and stunned he has got another job given his poor managerial record.
Oldham may well rue the decision to appoint him

I think most people will agree with that assessment.

I did chuck a fiver on Chelsea to draw at 12/1 when they were 3 down which sorta made up for it
