Awful tactical change from Wild at 2-0 up. Completely on top in the 4231 and then changed to 532 and we got battered from that point onwards. 2 points dropped that.
:fl: :fl::fl: There you go, what did I tell ya. No credit at all for battering them to 2 nil down, just we were "awful" when they inevitably came back at us. A very simplistic understanding of the game. :fl::fl::fl:

Draw probably a fair result. We only really looked a threat when we decided to stop treating it like a chess match and started playing with a bit of direction and purpose.

Hartlepool were pretty poor too, their keeper looked quality though.

Still missing 2 or 3 of our big players. We need to get try and get things right before we hit the potential play off matches. The more I watch the less hope I have. Good finish from Madden though, nobody else in our team finishes that at all. Cardwell should have started.

FC Halifax proving that they aren't and never were a Brother club.
Since I am the founder and sole administrator of the Brotherhood, FC Halifax are the ORIGINAL Brother club. HAHAHAHartlepool are only there on approval, and I haven't made a final decision yet. :ds:

Do Sutton play like that every week?

I watched an Aspin team for years and I’ve never seen a team so reliant on long throws and set pieces? Painful stuff

Should have won it, but a good point and on we go

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Solihull down to 9 at the end, Shots playing 3-2-5 ,with 5 so-called “strikers”, and we still couldn’t score. Original tactic was 4-5-1, wallop the ball up to solitary Miller.
What a pile of shite.

Looked better when you stopped playing footy and just lumped it up to Cardwell, before then defensively we were hardly troubled, great finish by Madden, did nothing all game but finished his only chance excellently.

We were comfortable most of the game really, not our best game going forward but Armstrong needs a partner.

Disappointed with the result a bit really. I thought they were there for the taking at 1-0. It was the sort of game Bloomfield might've done something as both sides got more direct as the game went on.

Need a striker and a left back as cover for the run-in.

Spot on mate.

I've been saying this for weeks. Get out of this league you have to be direct. It's not about being 1980's Wimbledon. Direct doesn't mean lumping it all game aimlessley, it's getting it forward quickly, getting bodies around the second ball, building pressure and expressing any quality you have in the final third. Which as you say Madden did for the finish.

You looked pretty similar today, Notts were when we played them. That's why none of us are catching Sutton who do what I described in the paragraph above.

Whoever got the first goal was going to be massive the way the teams were cancelling each other out. That's why you're probably more disappointed of the two.

Personally thought a draw was about right. Neither side created much. And your keeper's save from Newby down low to his left probably got him MOTM award.

Maybe meet again in the play-offs, gentlemen.

Fair result in the end probably, feels a bit like an opportunity missed but they made a couple of subs and stepped it up. We're not catching Sutton but I was starting to believe for 10 mins until Stockport scored then Halifax imploded.

Madden never in the game, in Liddle & Johnson's pocket until they brought on Cardwell.

Great stop by Killip late on as well, he's been good recently.
Yeah, we heard HAHAHAHartlepool were winning so we took a step back and waved them through. Another 2 minutes and Jeff King was going to hack one of their heads off for a penalty :bdick:

MSH should have buried his header as well.

As I said before the game, Cardwell should have started and moving to Minihan to lwb at the start of the second half was criminal.

To be fair to him he rectified his mistakes but had we started Cardwell and not messed up with Minihan then I think we could have won that.

Simpson is the only long throw payer in our squad and he rarely plays. As for set pieces don’t all side’s try and make use of them? Have to say you were the better side and we were lucky to get a poin.

Feels like we have lost that game. Gutted.
We now have 9 days till the next game. Hopefully good Friday is good for us without playing.

Weymouth next up at home on Easter Monday.

You were launching long throws all first half and long before you brought Simpson on

Dior Angus looked great today, and scored two excellent goals. Whilst annoying at the time, Chesterfield tempting Yussuf away has been a blessing in disguise (although we look a little light squadwise) as Angus and Thomas look a far better pairing and give us a much better attacking shape, he's also a hugely superior player to Yussuf...albeit a different kind of forward.

Clearly doesn't rate Bloomfield, not that he's been given much of a chance to show us anything, he took the forgotten man Ofosu before him.

Would like to see us dip into the North for a loanee striker for the last 12 games, similar to what Stockport have done, their two best players today are both on loan from Chorley.

He now warms our bench... arguably 4th choice striker (5th when Dents is fit) behind Asante, Dinanga and Tyson

I really can’t see how he gets a permanent deal here next season

All 3 finishes were top drawer, even the header was well worked. Davies deserved his first goal, he's been brilliant for us overall.

Hardly an incredible reference, I'm a superior player to Yussuf tbf

The only delirium was around how sour you guys seemed to be about it... not the usual reaction when a ‘poor player’ leaves?

and now I’ve seen the guy play I don’t understand what the fuss was all about

Yussef must regret leaving as he is missing out on the bonuses that's being paid at the Racecourse

More a case of a lack of bodies and no time to sign a replacement due to the underhand way you lot went about it, as was explained at the time.

No-one was bothered about Yussuf himself.

Thought you played some decent football at our place certainly didn't just reply on set pieces. Randall in particular looked a really tidy player.

Jerry, how’s Boden been getting on at your place? I saw he scored the other day but wondered how his general play had been?

Fraser Kerr been absolutely brilliant since signing. Does all the basics of defending very well and can also play a bit which massively helps us when playing out from the back. Huge improvement on Will Evans

Better than what we had before but that's not saying much! He clearly knows how to play the position and does offer us a bit of a focal point as opposed to the headless chickens we've had there since Wright's injury. If we had our two wide players fit I think he'd be an able deputy for Wright but without them we simply have no pace in the side and don't create any chances and he's not mobile enough to create anything for himself.

Never saw anything of Kerr as he was "injured" the whole time he was here. Seems it was more of a mental issue than physical though as he was straight into your side I see. Plenty of players do struggle living so far from home and it's especially hard in these Covid times when you're stuck in digs with nothing to do.
