Away at Crewe for us.

Knocks are starting to mount up a little - Jackson's been out with an ankle injury, Hopper's been nursing a bad back and was only on the bench at the weekend whilst Bridcutt and Montsma are doubts for tomorrow as well.

That leaves us a bit light in defence but we can move people around to fill gaps if needed albeit it's not ideal.

Crewe always make me nervous when we play them because you never quite know what you're going to get. They'll attack us, which suits us, but always wary that if it clicks for them going forward then they have the ability to take a game away from you.

Solid enough start from them.

Dale v Sunderland. Played them 3 times, lost 3 times. Prognosis not good, although we'll give it a go.

Footy kicks off at 7.45. Quarantine Virtual Quiz League match kicks off at 9pm, and one of my team mates is a Mackem. I forsee bad language and sniping...

Should be an amusing night, whatever the score.

(2-1 Dale, last minute winner a 30 yard twomp onto the bar and rebounding in off the goalie would be nice, though)

Home to the Cobblers. We are suddenly confident.

Please stick with 4-4-2, Kenny. Don't f*ck it up. Michael Jacobs is a doubt, so Curtis would probably slot in if needed. Otherwise surely unchanged after the win at Sunderland?

I think Jacobs may have only played us once since leaving us a decade ago, so a shame that we don't get to see him in the prime of his career. I'd imagine it would help us in a game where we're not particularly hopeful for - we definiltely need to score to get anything as I don't think we're keeping a clean sheet this side of Christmas.

After beating Sunderland you know our biggest enemy is ourselves. We have struggled against the sides that are considered to be gimmies at home for some reason. Last season our home form was amazing. Never lost a league match at FP. Already lost 2 and struggled against MK dons. Here's hoping Marquis bangs a couple against one of his former clubs

My 'local' away game so disappointed to not be able to attend but I'm not holding my breath for anything tonight, but we have the 'Singing Kettle' in the middle who might have an influence...

Another win, another clean sheet. As comfortable as you like even with 10 men for the last 20 mins.

4 in a row, 5 clean sheets in a row. Starting to motor now.

We’re doing ok. Particularly at home, unbeaten since NYD, Home Park is becoming a bit of a fortress.

Sort out our away form and there’s no reason we can’t be in and around the play offs come the end of the season.

Another 3 points at Crewe last night. For 60/65 minutes we dominated and could and should have been 3/4/5-0 up and missed some glorious chances. Crewe changed it - went very direct and pretty much 4 up front putting us under pressure. We came through it which is a big tick for the defence.

We were poor against a good Lincoln side. Artell got his team selection wrong for the 3rd time in the last 4 games. Utterly bizarre to leave Lowery out. Without him we really struggle for control, or even a foothold, in the middle of the park.

Also, Perry Ng has been hopeless this season.

Ah well, and confirmation of yet another injury. Admittedly Jamie Hanson has been injured for long periods of his career with us anyway).

First half v Northampton was a strange one. We had loads of the ball, but Northampton's massive CF Smith caused us a lot of problems. Ryan Watson had the best chance for them. If he had scored it could have been a different game. Marquis got lucky with his 1st goal, but should have had a 2nd very soon after and it was pretty much about how many we'd score after that to be honest. Even without Jacobs our front 4 looked too much for Northampton. Good to see we are finally getting the best out of John Marquis. Ronan Curtis looked a much better player after scoring. He'll be in until Jacobs is back fit, so hopefully he goes on a decent run of form.

Good to see Shinnie seems to have started off well for you. The touch and assist for the first goal last night was classic.

Free kick was decent but the keeper will be disappointed.

A fair point against Sunderland. We were by far the better team first half, but let in two softish goals. Both quickly equalised.

They had the better of the second half, but didn't create that much - one which thumped the bar and one good save, and we held out and could even have nicked it.

Plymouth deserved to be in front at halftime and probably should have been more than 1-0. We pushed higher in the second half put them under pressure but conceded another against the run of play. Pulled one back but couldn’t put any other chances away. Should have come away with a point but can’t argue too much given how on top Plymouth were in the first half. Certainly got our tactics wrong especially against Mayor

Man of the match for me, comfortably.

Lot's of good little touches, right near the end aswell he did brilliantly with the ball on the byline, bit of skill to beat a couple of Oxford players, took it up the line deep in their half and won a free kick. Exactly what you want when just trying to see a game out.

Lincoln were very good last night. Best we’ve played this season. Very clever tactics, Rey defend in numbers with everyone behind the ball, whilst letting the likes of Beckles who’s not the best on the ball have it unchallenged. But once they win the ball they attack in numbers. The winger Johnson I think he was called look a real player, very quick and direct, he gave Ng no end of problems. We barely laid a glove on Lincoln until we made changes and went more direct and abit gung ho playing a 4-2-4 formation. But even then Lincoln defended it well.

Another good result for us last night. Sounds like we should've been out of sight by half time and that's a common trend so far this season.

You just wonder whether if we had Morton up front rather than Hopper then we'd have scored the goals some of our performances have deserved. Both are very good at the roles they play but Morton's first thought is to get into the box whereas Hopper links it all together.

No Bridcutt either so had Grant 'sitting', which he's done this season quite well to be fair. A big positional change from left of a front three to in front of the two CB's, though!

Interesting to see where we'll be a once these Sat, Tues, Sat games come to and end in 6 weeks or so.

EDIT - And despite the quick turnaround of games we've been able to keep the side fairly settled, which I didn't think we would be. No doubt that's helped.

A second clean sheet in a row which is always a good sign. Fleetwood totally dominated the game and should have been out of sight yet, as so often happens in footie, the Shrews came back into it strongly in the last 20 minutes truth be told Fleetwood were hanging on . I like Shrewsbury and if they play like they did in the latter stages of this game this will soon rise up the table
Another home game for the Cods on Saturday against a real bogey team !!!!!
