With the top 3 all being away this is a good chance for us to gain some ground, I'd be a little surprised if all 3 should win. I fear Braintree will be extremely difficult though, although that fear comes from us probably conceding a stupid goal before/after finally breaking them down and getting a goal, opposed to getting the goal itself.

I think we have a full fit squad, with just Palmer lagging behind a bit but could make the bench. He'd be a big boost, we're gonna need all the attacking options we can get if we're gonna break down Braintree.
I was definitely more confident before Brizzle needed a late winner. I think we're always gonna be a bit wary of them as Town fans after that welcome to Non-League smashing they gave us when we first came down.

Watch out for Braintree's number 15 Simeon Akinola. Hell of a player, let me know what you think of him.

Unfortunately, I'll be listening to it on the radio at best mate. If I get home in time I'll let you know what our radio guys make of him. Noticed he's been scoring a few over the past few months, though.

Scott Barrow, our only left-back , is injured and will be missing for the first time this season.

I didn't realise Welling have lost their last 7 matches. That gives you and the other teams in the bottom 4 hope, eh?

It does yes but still not convinced we are good enough defensively to take advantage. I mean we have scored 15 goals in our last 8 the third highest in the league. But we have conceded 18. The second worst. Not difficult to see the problem.

Today is going to define us IMO. Only second perhaps to the Welling game on the penultimate weekend. Should we win but look shaky in defence it would be a concern, win looking fairly good at the back would fill me with hope anything else and we will be in dire trouble IMO

Excited for this one, will take a draw but would love 3 points. Aslong as we are better than our other outings than we can get a point here.

Quite a big weekend for all concerned at the bottom, Nuneaton win today could make things interesting, not to mention your game against Telford.

Let's hope that the bumper home crowd puts some extra pressure on Eastleigh to impress and they can't live up to it. I know that we always seem to play badly whenever we drop the prices to get people through the door.

Can Eastleigh win but get about 6 players suspended/injured for next week please?

No idea what to expect from a lot of the matches this weekend. Was looking at the coupon in the bookies and not a single one screamed out at me as being easy to call. Really interesting/nervy day ahead I reckon for a lot of us.

Don't get why they put cameras in the dressing room, you wouldn't see them switch to the old trafford dressing room before kick off. Just adds to the tin potness.

Think you are right there, though I am not a betting man, really hard to predict. In my perfect World Rovers will win this afternoon and Halifax, Gateshead and Eastleigh all lose...but as football fans we all know that that is highly unlikely to happen.

Whoever you are following this afternoon, enjoy your match and have a safe journey home.

Not a good start for the referee. Thierry Audel brutally attacks the Eastleigh player's studs with his stomach and the 1-0 Eastleigh from the resulting free kick.

Eastleigh vs Macclesfield Update:
  • Hoof Ball Fest
  • A drum providing 'atmosphere'
  • There's actually people sitting in the stand behind the goal for a change

Don't know if Fairhurst has been shagging Askeys wife, but we always look so much better with both him and MBH on instead of aimless hoofs.

That drummer is the same one that comes to Barnet  Never makes much effort there either. Eastleigh can keep him!

Eastleigh claiming that there are 4800 in that stadium. They've certainly set a record but I think it's the record for the biggest difference between the claimed attendence and the number of people who are actually there.

Half of them are Southampton fans.

Rumour has it that the attendance includes 1700 Halifax fans. All spread out, of course...

Richard Hill real is a C**t isnt he?

He seems to be acting like some sort of non-league Mourinho because he's doing such a great job with the small budget of theirs.

It seems the more we've been able to deepen the squad, the more injuries have affected us!

No excuse for this though, just very poor, like we have been most of this calendar year.

Good to see refs get things right though like rewarding stamping on players stomachs!
