The weight of expectation on young Darryl McMahon's shoulders to now see this title charge through is enormous. Nobody should have this sort of pressure placed upon them. The dreams of all Dagenham fans rely solely on this man.

Our dreams are play offs, we won’t stay the course we such a small squad. Beyond our first 12-13 players there is not much there. We have a very tough October coming up, looks like we’re being fixtured out of it.

Calmed down a bit since last night. Have to say Woking fully deserved the win - we were poor and I don’t agree with Rowe that we deserved to be winning at half time.

Constant long ball to Tshimanga and Payne completely bypassing the midfield.

We missed Maguire who steps out and plays short passes to midfield and we desperately miss Oyeleke and Clarke.
It's just huge isn't it those 2 being out. Oyeleke is the heartbeat of the midfield and Clarke is one of few creative sparks we have. Don't think Asante is far away now though is he so that might be a boost

It's mad that on Saturday Chesterfield will have played 10 games and we'll be on just 6, and it'll only just be into October.

We don't play Saturday so I reckon we're gonna be passed by several teams. How come you've played so few anyway, have some been covided off?

Woking are good side this year we managed to scramble a 1 nil win at the Racecourse against them. They will definitely be top 8 or so. It's a tough league this season side and quality of squads could be key this season

Don't Woking start off well and then end up relegated every year?

Woody questioning the use of Grimsby's Covid Card on the opening day of the season. I feel we should factor in a Covid Card deduction should the team who played their Card lose in the rearranged fixture.

They had some covid cases………… apparently.

Fat bastards probably still bitter about us ruining his day at Wembley in 1998.

I feel if a team plays the covid card and then loses the rearranged fixture the card was genuine. Those who play it and then win the proper game were faking!

Yeah both of them basically keep our game ticking - Oyeleke controlling the midfield and Clarke creating chances through clever link up play. Mandeville isn't fit to lace Clarke's boots I'm afraid.

I really like Woodman and his assessment of the match is pretty much spot on and fair play to him for admitting that the biblical downpour helped them out. To call a club out like that though is the kind of shithousery that was on display from their club all night last night.

"Apparently"? Yeah mate, we only had about 16 players unavailable or something. We'd obviously have much preferred to have played them there as early as possible to avoid a greasy plastic surface that they're used to playing on.

Also absolutely LOL to fuck at the superlatives they're lathering onto that performance. I saw someone on the Bromley forum say it was one of their best performances in this division or something. They were decent in the second half yes, but we were well in control before it pissed it down. They also crocked one of our best players and we were down to ten men for the last 25mins or so.

Slightly odd game this evening. KL looked very slick and were on top much of the first half and at the start of the second. They made 2 substitutions at half time, which I thought was a bit of a red flag. When the 2nd went in, they collapsed in a heap really, we should have scored more. Their goal was a screamer, Morias is a handful.

That is our season so far, not necessarily 'very slick' but we do seem to be able to control the ball much better than last year which was a feature of our game during back to back promotions but we just don't have any cutting edge to our side. Culverhouse starting to tinker with lineups/formations, which cost us last season (before we furloughed everyone), doesn't bode well. Zero points from Wealdstone and Atly means we really need something from both Saturday's trip to Maidenhead and the visit of Barnet to the Walks next Tuesday.

Yeah on Twitter last night Bromley fans were saying it was their second best performance ever, with only a 6-1 win over some fuckers being better.

Bromley fully in Grimsby heads here. A first rattling of the season.
Not sure if our Grimsby brothers ever played Bromley before but they are infuriating as fuck. I'm even rattled for them now just thinking about it.

Will their season recover from this?

Yeah their first season up here was our last, but we were mint as fuck against them both times I seem to remember. Spanked them at BP and comfortable win at their place (probably because it didn't rain). Bogle, Amond, Disley, Jon Nolan, etc in peak form.

Yeah we played them the year we went up, beat them 2-1 away on a Tuesday night and can’t remember the home game against them.

Ahh just as I posted to say I can’t remember the home game against them this has reminded me, beat them 4-1 early season and typically I missed it as we were in Milton Keynes that weekend.

Celebrating in front of near-drowning Grimsby fans on the tinpot uncovered terrace...we won't forget this...perhaps a "special" local road closure will be in place for the return fixture and then a little diversion of the Bromley team bus to the Ice Factory on the docks before they get to Blundell Park to meet Benny the Docker ... Hope there is sea mist rolling in...

Naah, we're little Alty, part time and proud of it just enjoying the ride while it lasts.
Who are the part timers this season?
My guess would be:
Halifax
Alty
Woking
Wealdstone
Weymouth
Maidenhead
Kings Lynn (Feel like they might be bankrolled)
Dover

I’ll hold a grudge against Bromley for our entire time down here now, which will (hopefully) be shorter than the 23 year grudge Woodman obviously holds against us for beating him in the play-off final in 1998

Stockport County.
I think Altrincham might even be full time now.
