Plymouth travel to an inform Accrington Stanley this weekend looking to continue on their win against Hartlepool last week. But they know they are in for a battle, with Accrington winning 3x of their last 4x games.

Stanley are much improved since John Coleman returned as manager for his second spell, with a couple of loan signings, which have hit the road running.

John O’Sullivan, on loan from West Ham, scored 2x on his debut last week, as well as fellow West Ham loanee Sean Maguire who also managed to get on the score sheet. This in turn helped Rob Atkinson, who also managed to score his first of 2x goals in his Stanley career.

They are without a couple of key players though, with Adam Buxton doubtful and Michael Liddle definitely out with a knee injury. Also not available is Stanley top scorer James Gray, being suspended.

They have boosted their squad with the loan signing of Aaron Chapman, a 24 year old goalkeeper from Chesterfield, who is expected to go straight into the starting line up.

Plymouth, on the other hand, seem to be struggling in putting together a little run of their own, but did manage to get a win on their travels last time round with a win at Luton. This though is their only points away from home this season.

John Sheridan has also boosted his squad, by bringing in promising youngster Bobby Reid from Bristol City. The 21 year old creative midfielder has signed for a month and is included in The Pilgrims squad.

He has to wait for late fitness test on 2x of his first team players, but both expected to feature. Top scorer Ruben Reid has a bruised bone but has been training, while vice captain Peter Hartley had a pull in his thigh, and this game may come a little too early for him to feature.

Also pushing for a start is 19 year old winger Nathan Thomas, who came on as a second half substitute last week against Hartlepool and scored his first goal of his senior career. His second half contribution last week must surely put him in Sheridan’s thoughts. The only thing against him, is the way Sheridan sets his side up away from home, 3-5-2, which may not give the opportunity for Nathan in this particular game.

Referee for the game is Nigel Miller from County Durham.

Kick off ‘Store First Stadium’ , Accrington. 27th September 2014 @ 15:00
