Big game for both sides tomorrow for differing reasons.

Barnet could well get a result tomorrow, they've a decent record against us, they've showed signs of life with Westley in charge, we've struggled against the bottom sides and akinde always scores against us. Shaq will probably want to also prove a point

Will be interesting to see if any of our new signings start tomorrow given that we've a decent record form wise. Given we've a tough month fixture wise it's imperative to get a win here.

I'd be expecting us to keep much the same side as played against Morecambe last week.

I'm going for a surprising 1-1 draw

What’s actually gone wrong at Barnet? I know they have a huge squad but it does have some quality.

I’m not confident about tomorrow, a good run always has to come to the end and the typical Mansfield way would be against rock bottom Barnet.

Akinde and Shaq both to get a goal I bet!

A chain of bad decisions from the top that started when Martin Allen left coupled with a very lengthy injury list at the beginning of the season has put us in this position.

How is Shaq doing? Was alright for Mansfield but his inability to look up and pass the ball and his obvious lack of quality in the final third made him a incredibly frustrating player to watch.

Shad has had his moments, most notably when he scored a hat-trick at Swindon but since Rossi decided to go back to managing the youth team we haven't played in way that suits him. From what I've seen, he likes being fed through balls to run onto or having the ball to feet but we have played very little like that in the past few months, especially during the McGhee usurpation! Graham Westley has eulogised over his quality but I'm not sure that Shaq will thrive under his management as it looks like we'll be playing in a very attritional percentages-based way.

The way result went this week it's important we win against Barnet . It will be tougher than we expect . I would imagine our line up will be similar to the one against Morecombe but I can see all the three signings on the bench . A tough February coming up so three points is a must . Our last two performances have not been great but true grit has won us the points . We can't keep relying on that though so a better all round performance is needed . We seem to keep Akinde in check so hope that is the case Saturday

If it's attritional you want we seemingly have found the ability to counter this now. Given cheltenhams ridiculously brutal way of playing attritional football a few weeks ago, half the game will have enough entertaintment.

Though it'll mean little or nothing at all I've always liked Barnet and their fans since the joint anti chairman thing many years ago which we mentioned last time. I hope that you pull through

That was in 2005/06, wasn't it?

Something like that, but just sometimes small things like this are forgotten.

In the rush to bicker and outdo each other, lower league fans often forget they're closer together to each other now than ever before.

For possibly the first time in my life I will be cheering on a Westley side. Come on Barnet!

Very comfortable win in the end which surprised me a little as Barnet are fighting for their league existence. We played with some good quality again and should have been more than 3. Barnet seem to have a bit of a threat up front as you would expect but were very poor everywhere else.

Dominated, especially the second half,

Only disappointing thing is the stupid goal we conceded, and the fact we didn’t get another goal or two considering the amount of chances.

That’s an advance for us as for a lot of this season we’ve been suspect at the back and toothless in attack!
Yesterday was going to be very hard for us in any case but the team selection by Westley didn’t help things at all. Ruben Bover has not shown anything for us since he joined a year ago and the excuse hitherto yesterday had been that he had never been played in his best position. Yesterday, he was selected in his favoured position behind the front 2 and his impact on the match was negligible. Picking two players in Watson and Nichols who just don’t contribute enough during a match just surrendered control of the midfield to Mansfield, gave us no width and gave Shaq and Akinde nothing to feed on. Throw in lapses in concentration in defence and defeat was inevitable.

I thought Akinde and Shaq were toothless upfront, Shaq put effort in mind.

Akinde didn’t look interested.

Good performance . We should of won by a far bigger margin . Mcdonald is immense. Benning getting back to his best . Shame Hemmings didn't score . He had a great goal . Except for the lapse at tge back from Bennett, I thought we were excellent from front to back .
To say we have Mirfin , Mellis and White to return and have players like Diamond , Potter , Miller and Angol to fall back on , things look very good . We will lose games but I cat see us losing too many at all .
Evans said we still aren't at full pelt yet so the best is hopefully to come .
Tough games to come up bit teams will know they have to perform to beat us .

Not sure what I thought of Barnet tbh . We were on fire in the second half but they did show glimpses of some good football . Akinde was poor . Shaq put a decent performance in . Defence were run ragged . Nice club and hope they stop up but they will have to show a lot more fight than they did against us
On to Swindon . A tough game . This could be our first double loss . I can see a high scoring game but hopefully we will nick it .
Onwards and upwards
