Our game in Miami will be a tough one but if nobody who follows the Pats has any idea what we’ll see today then the Fins will have even less of a clue. Clearly they have good weapons but that’s counter-balanced by the fact I think Tua is not that great. Need to be better defensively against the RPO’s they like to run than we were last season.

We can try to analyse and predict what might happen but at the end of the day it's NE in Miami and even when you were dead good they'd inexplicably beat you so, as you touch on, who the hell knows eh. :bg: Not be surprised if you win today but be a worse team across the season. Just Pats vs Dolphins things.

Agree though mate, I'm really happy football is back and Redzone is gonna be the centrepiece of my weekends now for the next few months.

I'll do some predictions in a bit too.

Pats @Dolphins looks really interesting Dolphins have major questions a potentially really good roster but this is a really prove it year for Tua and a rookie HC. On the Pats been hearing on Social Media during pre season that they been having Offensive struggles which is not that surprising having a guy who isn't an Offensive Coach as OC.

On next years draft I wonder if Stroud can beat the OSU QB curse

Matt Patricia? Having a non-Offensive Coach at OC is probably bad enough but having him as any kind of coach on your team might be worse.

Yeah losing Miller was a major loss for the Rams especially as it will mean they can put extra attention on Donald.

Just to add to this one last time before we move on to tonight's games. I think the commentators mentioned as well how it really ain't great for the Rams that they lost him to Buffalo of all teams. It's not like he retired or went to somewhere like Jacksonville to semi-retire. The Rams' loss is the gain of one of their potential Superbowl rivals. So a double downside for them really.

Am going for the following in terms of predictions:- ™

AFCN - Bengals
AFCE - Bills
AFCS - Colts
AFCW - Chiefs

Wildcards - Chargers, Titans, Ravens

NFCN - Packers
NFCE - Eagles
NFCS - Buccs
NFCW - 49ers

Wildcards - Rams, Vikings, Cowboys

Super Bowl - Bills beat the 49ers

^^ 9ers season hinges on if Lance is good or not, doesn't it? If he's an upgrade or downgrade on Jimmy G. Rest of the team is good. They had a Superbowl and playoff appearances with Jimmy's play being a weak link on their offence. Lance will either be better than him and elevate them back to the SB or hold them back and maybe not make the playoffs. They're my fave NFC team though so I'll inject some hopium for the former. And then hope they lose to the Bills in the big one ofc.

You’re right on Lance. If they have got this wrong then they are in deep trouble having given up the farm to go and get him. My suspicion is the pieces around him (though I think Kittle has a question mark regards injury status) and Shanahan’s coaching on that side of the ball will work around him. It’s hard to gauge with him as he never really played that much at college either.

I have to admit the play calling issue for the Pats yourself and pride_of_notts have mentioned is a very valid concern. I couldn’t stand Patricia as our DC (see the cluster that was the Eagles Super Bowl as to why I am really down on him). We are meant to be transitioning to a more West Coast based scheme but if so then I’d have thought bringing in a coach who has worked in that scheme would be better. In Bill we trust and all that but I’ll admit this one is more of a challenge.

Yep. I've had to bring in a last minute TE in our fantasy coz Kittle is gonna be out. Deebo is amazing though and Eli Mitchell is very good at RB so long as he doesn't get injured, which unfortunately Shanahan 49er RBs tend to do. Aiyuk at WR is good too. All depends on Lance, as we said. Coz the weapons are definitely there for him to use.

As a Deebo and Mitchell fantos owner though I just hope Lance doesn't turn out to be too good with his legs and take too many plays away from them.

I think the one thing in fantasy that may be a problem this week is the conditions in Chicago don’t look particularly ideal. Just glad I have the Niners D

Both Dolphins and Pats have not been great Offensively the more I see of Tua I don't think he is the guy get the feeling Dolphins will either be looking to trade or draft a new QB once 2022 is done

Looking a prescient observation so far Kieran.

Yeah looked like the kind of scenes you get in December there.

I’m not sure how to analyse that half from us. Obviously we are down 17 but the D has largely kept them in check save for letting Waddle free on a slant at the end of the half. Some very costly turnovers from us offensively though. Be helpful as well if the OL didn’t let the Fins have free runs at the QB constantly.

It is quite reassuring to see the Bengals revert to being the Bengals again after last year.

Probably our most productive WR last season was Kendrick Bourne. So far he has had ZERO snaps on the field. Makes sense :dk:

Pretty insane slate of early games today. Great comeback wins for the Jets and Fins. Suggests our D actually did do a good job on them last week.

The Pats and Steelers combined to set the NFL back about 30 years but overall our OL took control of the game. I know they didn’t have Watt but Mac went the whole game untouched which is no mean feat against them.

Yeah both had wild ends on the Phins game the Ravens secondary does not seem very good on the Jets Browns had a 99.9% win chance with under 2 min left to go.

I’d agree on the Ravens secondary though I think some of it was schematic.

Trey Lance out of the SF game and probably the season given the nature of the injury. I’ll be honest I thought they took a huge risk doing what they did to draft him but then to use him on designed runs up the middle why would you risk that on your franchise QB? Just as well they did keep hold of Jimmy G.

Excellent from the Bills last night and I was worried as over the last few years Henry has owned us and our D basically restricted him to nothing never mind both us and Titans pulled the starters in the 3rd and now it is onto squishing the fish.

From what have seen on Red Zone the Fins have done a great job on D but Allen still has the answers. Scary for everyone else in the NFL.

I think the Lions may actually be good as well.

Lost to the dolphins the small errors were massively costly saying that I thought Our D did well considering the injuries basically all our 1st choice DB's out and both our 3 Techs as wells.

Shame we couldn’t get the win in Green Bay yesterday but I thought it was a fantastic effort from the Pats. To have Bailey Zappe go toe to toe with Rodgers at Lambeau have to say it’s one of those losses can take a lot of pride in. Maybe an argument we could have gone for it on 4th in OT at halfway but I also get why we didn’t with a rookie QB.

Thoroughly enjoyed the game at Tottenham as well yesterday as well. Jefferson is really something else.

I was surprised how well the Pats did with there 3rd string QB so there is a lot of credit there but it is interesting that the Pats are bottom of the Afc East kind of surprising that the Jets are .500 at this stage of the season

I think some of that is the product of the schedule to be honest. Ours gets a little bit easier now so would anticipate we’ll be back above the Jets before long. There may come a point in the season that maybe it’s in our interests to finish bottom but for a 1-3 team we are playing better than the record suggests outside week 1.

And we’ve won. Putting 29 points on Detroits worst ranked D in the league might not be spectacular but limiting them to a great big zero surely is with how they’ve been on offense this season.

Think we might have to get used to the idea the Jets might not be what we are used to with them.
