The guy getting hit there (fantastic hit it was as well) is Michigan's own Jourdan Lewis, who this season is one of the stand out backfield defenders in all of college football. His one handed 'Beckham Interception' as it's been dubbed to kill the game Saturday against Wisconsin was truly outstanding.

Jabril Peppers had no intention of trying to block him either. Business decision, can't be a top 5 pick if you let a kicker flatten you.

So whilst I'm utterly depressed by another complete waste of a season from the Detroit Lions I thought I'd reminisce to happier times, namely the 1950s when the Lions were one of the best teams the NFL had ever seen. I was prompted to do this by an article I've just read on NFL.com about the Browns under Bill Belichick.
Remembering that the other great team of that decade were the Cleveland Browns, another current day laughing stock. 1951 was the first season the Championship game was broadcast on TV across the entire USA and in the coming years both the Lions and Browns would become the first truly celebrity teams of American Football with the likes of Bobby Lane, Otto Graham, Jim Brown and Dick 'Night Train' Lane becoming national superstars.

Fast forward to the late 80s and early 90s and another thing unthinkable to everyone here who has started to get into football over the past 15 years, both Cleveland and Detroit were not perennial strugglers, good for only thinking about top 5 draft picks, they were constants in playoff talk, they got to AFC/NFC Championship games. Alas they could never get to the big one. Maybe one day the Lions and Browns will get back to playing each other in the game that matters, till then I'll keep laughing, even at my own Lions.

Here is said internet article: The Belichick Letters: http://www.nfl.com/belichickletters
Also, if you haven't seen it and are interested, A Football life; Cleveland Browns 1995, is a great documentary. It's all on NFL videos, but split into segments (why do they do that?!?).

The Vikings are 4-0, my fantasy team is 4-0, what a time to be alive.

Will need to catch up on the highlights of our game later but it sounds like a lights out defensive performance again and another solid outing from Sam Bradford and Jerick McKinnon. I'd have taken 2-2 after 4 games with a fully healthy roster let alone what we've ended up with. Tough one again next week against Houston but if our D keeps playing the same way then hopefully our offense will again be able to do enough to win the game, especially without having to worry about JJ Watt. 5-0 into the bye week with a hopefully cooled down Philly, Chicago and then Detroit after that it may well start getting into nosebleed territory....

Redemption Sunday went well for the old Steelers. Finally played a bit of D and the 4 B's (BIG BEN, BELL, BROWN) was too much for the Chiefs. Yeah baby.

Our D didn't turn up. Also turning it over on a sloppy fumble (Ware needs superglue on his gloves atm) and then pathetic interception didn't help our cause. THE worst 1st quarter of football I've seen the Chiefs play since I started following them, and I've seen some shite.

Steelers ran out deserved winners of course and and you're right that Big Ben and his weapons were firing on all cylinders so would probably have won even if our D had woken up so I wasn't surprised at the result in a way, but the margin of victory and performance overall was a real blow to my early season optimism.

That site is interesting indeed, cheeky question but would anyone know of a site that did that for the NFL games, I'm already losing the urge to stop up till 4 AM just to get dat football fix.

You're kidding right? Roger has a crack team scouring every corner of the internet 24/7 for anything not put out officially by the NFL. I've heard that standards are so high that if a video has been up longer than two hours Roger picks a random member of the team, strips them naked and parades them down Park Avenue, New York

There was a reddit link last season doing the rounds, which had NFL films archives and the recorded games. Pretty sure someone on here posted it.

Ah, the joys of GamePass, I would just bite the bullet and get it. Worth it for any NFL junkie.

Between the Empire of the NCAA and the dictatorship of the NFL I'd have thought that Goodell would have came out of it looking like the good guy, that's why I was a bit surprised to see that site with all the archived college games to watch.

Does Game Pass archive games, I thought that it was only for the live games so to speak, I'll be buying into that next season if so, bit skint at the minute, Sky is my only luxury but I've zero chance of recording over Emmerdale or Coronation street.

Gamepas is a big hit upfront, but this is my second season of having it and I'm not looking back. It also meant me cancelling Sky which felt good and meant overall I saved money over 12 months too.

This NC State - Notre Dame game has been a massive clusterfuck. Great entertainment.

How many lives do Tennessee have?! Unbelievable play by Foreman to knock the ball out of the guys hand on the 1 yard line and then a missed FG with 4 seconds left. OT here we come.

I kinda don't want this game to end but I do want to watch the Miami game so it'd be nice if Tennessee don't score here.

I can't decide if Miami's defensive line are brilliant or FSU's O-Line are just a bit shit.

So good to see TFB back, feels like the season has properly started now.

Not reading too much into today in any case. Beating Cleveland should be a formality really.

Nice idea by Pittsburgh but execution not quite there on that fake.
