So Steven Woolfe, one of the favourites to be the new Ukip leader, has been rushed to hospital after being punched in the face by one of his colleagues.

Allegedly tried to submit his papers all day but couldn't get the online system to work. When he pleaded his case with the executive they dismissed him.

Seems odd that'd he'd leave everything to the last minute but if that genuinely is what happened, I guess you could understand him considering defecting. He'd probably be a decent choice for UKIP given his African-American and Jewish heritage (sad that we have to think in those terms, but hey). But part of me wonders whether they're doomed now that the raison d'etre has gone and there's so much in-fighting.
