So I'm a massive Chelsea fan. Also a massive mourihno fan. Was devastated when we sacked him, although our form is better now, are we really better off? The only thing i think has changed is Costa and Fabregas have started playing again.
Opinions?

I'm talking long term. Will the next manager be able to pull in big players like jose could? and will he be able to keep hold of the top players we currently have? I fear a demise similar to that of Liverpool and Man united

Or in Chelsea's case, a return to normality after a decade of prosperity? Chelsea players sign for the money, not the manager. Hence Mourinho's signings are the one's that revolted. You'll get a decent manager again.

Remains to be seen, still think sacking Mourinho was premature considering what he achieved last season, but his big players clearly weren't playing for him and at the time you were actually quite close to the bottom 3.

I'm not sure Hiddink will have the same attraction as Jose but to be fair if the money is right they will sign anyway, and the fact its London is always a big pull.

I think Chelsea might see more youth players being used now Mourinho is gone as he never seemed to buy into blooding youngsters.

Chelsea have never been to the same high as Liverpool and United though?

Mourinho's downfall wasn't tactical or necessarily motivational in the strictest sense of the word; but rather that he's a c*nt and as long as he stays a c*nt, what happened at Chelsea will always be a risk with him. It could happen again, as it happened at Real although the consequences weren't anywhere near the scale of those at Chelsea.

Theoretically, Chelsea keep sacking managers and they usually come through unscathed. In practice though, they're starting to run out of top quality managers. Who are they going to approach that they haven't already sacked? Hiddink isn't the long term solution, but they don't really need one. If they can talk him out being an interim manager, that's probably the best they could do. He's a proven manager they haven't sacked and that makes him one of very few.

But who knows really. We've always laughed at Roman, called Chelsea a joke of a club while the sackings add up. But while we were laughing, Chelsea kept winning titles. I don't think it'll come to an abrupt end and they can't be compared with Liverpool and United. Liverpool have had the problem of not being able to/refusing to pay massive wages, ending up overpaying for mediocre players because the mediocre players didn't ask for more than 100k a week. United, meanwhile, have just managed to get it all wrong despite paying huge wages. In hindsight, fuck knows how either are so terribly off to be honest. It'd take another series of mistakes from Chelsea for them to end up where we are, and where United are seemingly going. I can't see it happening to be honest.

when people claim they are massive fans, do you mean you go to every game or not?

can't be easy from Southampton like (not saying you aren't a London boy by birth)

I dont feel as though in the modern era of football, fandom can measured on attendance at games especially as a student living in Southampton supporting one of the most expensive clubs to watch in the league. I do attend where possible.
However, I did travel to Munich by car around 20 hours and 1600 miles if that validates my support of my club enough? perhaps not? Thank you for wandering hopelessly off topic

I wonder how much Terry had to do with this season's player power move.

Not really. Conte, Allegri, Emery, Simeone, Gary Neville. To name a few.
I don't think Conte speaks English, that may be a problem (then again Chelsea haven't got many English players at the moment, I wonder how they're on the home-quota thing? Inbe4 that's why they'll end up extending Terry again).

Allegri won't be switching Juventus for Chelsea.

Emery, I don't know.

Simeone could be good, if he's ready to leave Atletico.

But the point is that there are no brilliant or obvious choises, imo, therefore it's difficult to say yet are Chelsea better off without Mourinho or not. They need a manager who can motivate Hazard, though, if Hazard had been all season in his last season's form Chelsea would probably be in the top-4 or at least still challenging for it, his "decline" has been unbelievable.
