Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Just a question from noticing early games with Carlisle.

From what i've seen and heard Carlisle are certainly going away with a more positive attempt at winning the game and push men forward and take some risks.

and from what i seen Cambridge and Wimbledon impressed me also that both were very willing to come to Carlisle and have a go, try and score, take some risks and play some entertaining stuff.

Are away teams in your view more open this season than previously or has it just been games i've seen and we still have alot sitting deep, playing for draws, timewasting etc, etc??

from what i've seen early on i've enjoyed it this year, teams seem very willing to play a much more open game.

I think we've certainly been more attacking this season than last (not hard). Ive noticed at home we've taken the game to sides more, and both games have been entertaining compared to the often dull fare last season.

Away, we've played brilliantly at notts county and York and scored 2 in both games - something we did in a handful of games last season.

One thing I have noticed is that tje standard of defending has been poor

I thought Morecambe had a good go at us when they visited us and should of beat us. When we visited Crawley they just sat everyone behind the ball.

To say we are playing 1 up top we are quite attacking minded, Which is a positive. Still thought we started to sit back far too early yesterday but we got away with it. Didn't have a shot in the second half and we didn't have 1 in 90mins at Accrington.

At home we need to start taking chances against both Carlisle and Oxford we should of been 2/3-0 up after 30 minutes and have come away with 2 draws now. Was encouraging to come from behind the win yesterday, Probably the first time we've done that for about 3 years!

Well we're certainly not playing open football, and it's really pissing off the fans.
Mind you, we didn't last year either, and it cost us promotion.

We've been playing 4-2-4 in the last couple of games, with one of the midfield two being a player who is actually a forward. Mixed results, if we're honest.

Curle would probably still have the Notts job if he hadn't been such a dour, boring bastard.

Well, we're still not scoring a lot of goals and now we've forgotten how to defend too. We did seem to play a more attacking game against both Hartlepool (which we lost having led) and Bradford in the cup (which we won on penalties), but we seemed to revert to hoofing the ball in the general direction of an isolated Vadaine Oliver after about ten minutes on Saturday. We aren't going to win many games like that, even if we score first.

The trend appears to be in the Prem and the Champ this season that teams are winning more away than at home so far this season - that's certainly been the case with us the last few years. I think that last season we only marginally picked up more points at home than we did away - teams counter pretty well in this division.

Although if you play away at us, just get a set-piece and you'll probably score.
