I've never seen him play but I've heard good things about him. I don't know if it'll make Arsenal competitive at the top, I definitely think they could do with a proper defensive midfielder. Coquelin looks good but he's only young and past him you're relying on players who shouldn't be near a title chase (Flamini, Diaby, Arteta). Ironically, those in bold will answer #'s 13, 14 and 15 :bye:

The crisis will begin when Kim Källström is signed on deadline day.

Can we just appreciate how terrible a journalist Adrian Durham is. The patheticness of this one actually made me choke on my latte.

Non Daily Mail link of course.

Is this the right time for Wenger to walk away from Arsenal?
Speaking to many gooners tonight, they all want him gone asap

Old Trafford could not be a more fitting setting to end our last chance of salvaging a memorable season.

How many years has it been since people have been saying this? I fucking despise the stubborn c***, but Arsenal's board is simply too scared to sack him because of all the success people have brought.

Glad Monaco beat their ex-manager. I don't hate Arsenal. I just don't like Wenger. He is up there for me as the second biggest idiot manager in the Premier League behind Mourinho (I don't mean tactic wise to avoid confusion otherwise it would be Carver.)

I feel for Giroud. 4-5 class games and he's an Arsenal hero. Has an off day and the fan base calls for his head. I agree he's not of the highest class but he's the best we got. And he's beautiful.

Yep I think Giroud is ok too, not of the absolute highest calibre, but he'll always bag 20 goals a season.

Wenger's stubborness in not signing a defensive midfielder is beyond a joke

His current contract ends in 2017, and for the sake of both parties I'm thinking for the first time it could well be the right time to walk away. He was always the best man for the job when they were on a budget, as Arsenal's record shows over the last decade (ignoring the lack of actual silverware before their FA Cup triumph last season and looking purely at top four finishes and CL qualification). But without the stadium debt and an increasing dissatisfaction with their annual top four/last 16 CL achievements, I'm unsure he's the right man to spend a budget on a scale which gives them a chance at competing with City and Chelsea, which now surely has to be Arsenal's aim.

Giroud is class and has even seemingly sorted his problem of not scoring against the big teams (scored against United, Liverpool and City this season). Last night was an aberration, but then so many players had awful games it's hard to get too mad at just one.

Arsenal are utterly predictable.

They'll come back and win their next few league games.
They'll lose in the FA Cup at Old Trafford offering not much fight
They'll bravely beat Monaco away in the 2nd leg, but still exit the competition.

Yep, rinse and repeat. It's tough, you feel like there's another level from this team with just one or two tweaks, but they're probably not going to be addressed by the current manager. On the other hand, change the manager and fuck knows how much chaos the wrong appointment could cause.

With Arsenal seemingly in groundhog dog every single season, I think surely the time is right to let Wenger go at the end of this season.

if it was a simple case of Arsenal not winning in 12 games, then yeah that decision is made easier. But with the fact that this vicious cycle continues to happen whilst Wenger is in charge (and has been taking place since probably the Champions League final in 06 was it?) and now there's even money being thrown into the team and still there is no change to the repetition.

It's not like Arsenal are in crisis or are a failure. They're just stuck in a ditch and it must get quite boring for Arsenal fans to know what is going to happen to their team at the start of every season (top 4, last 16 of champs league, maybe a domestic cup). In order to have any chance of progress they must act and appoint a new manager and usher in a new era (and yes it's got risk attached to it, but for Arsenal to step up to that next level it has to be done).

When we were falling to pieces, I didn't once see Arsene get up on the touchline barking orders or trying to change the way we were playing. Fucktrumpetry of the highest order.

I remember an Arsenal fan saying Ozil is one of the most creative player even when he is not in form.
