My post from Friday:

I would be very disappointed if "Kloppo's Boys" won't at least get a draw. A pity that Karius is out for some time. I see him in the not so distant future as #2 in the German Team behind Manuel Neuer.

Arsenal love a dodgy start to the season to get the fans on Wenger's back and with the defence in the state it currently is I think Liverpool will get the win here.

Yeah well, I said this on Tuesday, so TAKE THAT Dirk

I didn't watch the game as I'm a vegan, but I think you'll find that PLENTY of title wins have been founded on 4-3 opening day home defeats.

Blimey I go out for the day along the coast and have a fish supper and I missed that! What was I thinking! Sounds like it could've been comfortable except for Mignolet and Moreno again!

Anyway doesn't look like we'll be dull if we're involved in games like that this season! :D

What a game!

For 20 minutes we were unbelievable, and better back lines than what Arsenal could put out today wouldn't have coped. We then completely switched off mentally and let Arsenal back in the game, though you also must give them some credit for not completely caving in.

Mignolet 6 - Could have done better for the 2nd. A good shot stopper but just not commanding enough and lacks presence. A good backup keeper.

Clyne 6 - Very good going forward as always but some silly mistakes at the back as usual. Fee;s a bit harsh to not give him a 7 but his silly and needless foul allowed Arsenal to get well and truly back into the game.

Kloven 7 - Decent debut, he looks solid all round. Upgrade on Skrtel from what I've seen.

Lovren 6 - Didn't do a lot wrong but wasn't tested too much.

Moreno 4 - Absolutely woeful in the 1st half, improved in the 2nd fortunately. He's a winger playing as a left-back but Klopp has to take some responsibility for not signing another left-back this summer, one that actually enjoys defending.

Henderson 6 - Went about his job but isn't and will never be a holding midfielder. I've always believed there's a good player in him somewhere but he seems to lack belief in himself.

Lallana 7 - Had a good game and deserved his goal which was superbly taken. He's a very clever player and would be top drawer if he can add more goals to his game.

Wijnaldum 6 - Pretty quiet debut but got himself into good positions as he tends to do. Still don't think we really needed him and would have spent the money elsewhere, but he'll score important goals while wearing a Liverpool shirt.

Coutinho 9 - An absolute diamond and could play for any side in the world and not look out of place. Had a quiet 1st half but completely changed the game when he started to get on the ball. And what a free-kick!

Mane 8 - Scored an outstanding individual goal and was a threat every time he got on the ball. On his day he's genuinely unplayable and I think he'll be an absolute star for us under the guidance of Klopp.

Firmino 6 - The poorest of our forwards. Looked dangerous at times but also frustrated too often. He'll have better games than he had today.

I also thought Origi did ever so well when coming on and he has the tools to become a top, top forward player. I love Sturridge but I really don't think we would miss him as much as I used to which is down to the progress Origi has made.

Arsenal -

Karius will be the favoured keeper when he's back and will be an improvement there. LB is a real priority however.

Pretty much saw the two Liverpool's in one game today. There isn't really an in between.

We all know what we're capable of on our day, but then there's no surprise if we go and lose to Burnley next weekend. We've already summed ourselves up twice within the last couple of weeks, beating Barca 4-0 then losing to Mainz 4-0 the next day, then looking like relegation fodder until our goal to world beaters for the first 20 minutes of the 2ND half.

Coutinho and Mane were different class today.

That was a fantastic game really enjoyed it, Liverpool will be a joy to watch this season under Klopp, going forward they have so much talent and pace. Arsenal aren't a million miles away and with Koscielny back, another world class centre back and striker they should be in the mix come May. Coutinho is some player by the way, massively underrated by many.

But they won't buy a world class centre back or a striker so they might as well be a million miles away.

You are probably right, Lacazette would be a good start for them though.

He'd offer something different to Giroud too.

He got a hat trick today, for example.

Giroud. Now there's an underrated player. Fantastic technical ability. Yes, he could do with being more lethal in front of goal but there isn't many strikers like him in the world.

On the game today - what a poor, poor, poor, first half from Liverpool. Arsenal played well to their credit, but Klopp figured them out in the second half.
Mane might be the best business of the summer, he's so dangerous with the ball. Kloven looked decent, quick!
Would love to see Origi lead the line for a few weeks, he looks like a great talent.
Still think Arsenal can go all the way this year, some massive players on their way back!

Also, shout out to the third team and the part they played in today's game. Well done, Southampton.

Did you see the team sheet for the Barca game and Mainz game? I agree we look unplayable one day while the next day we look utter shit, but that was a bad example.

I understand Moreno was poor but wow the way Carra and Neville were talking about him on live tv was absolutely disgusting. Carra was no Cannavaro while we all saw the rat boys knowledge when he managed Valencia.

Carragher was a proper defender that enjoyed defending. Moreno is a winger parading as a left-back who hates defending. I've never seen a player be as rash as he is, and continue to makes schoolboy mistakes time after time after time.

Carra has more than a right to rip him to bits, as does fucktard Neville. He also has a silly fucking haircut.

Klopp figured them out in the second half.
I disagree with this to be completely honest. In the first half Arsenal pressed us very well and their goal was an example of that. They simply couldn't keep it up though and didn't seem to have any idea what to do if they weren't ahead after the first half, that was their mistake. They ended up sort of half sitting back protecting a 1-1 draw which goes to show how reliant they were on being ahead after the first half, which all things considered they probably should have been.

I understand Moreno was poor but wow the way Carra and Neville were talking about him on live tv was absolutely disgusting.
It's fashionable to blame everything on Moreno and Mignolet (look at Salty's posts for example). I can't think of any two other players in our team who get less credit for what they do well. Mignolet saved a penalty and nobody mentions him, Moreno made literally one mistake and is made out to have had an awful game which isn't true.

Our pressing trap on the left worked very well and that is extremely reliant on Moreno's defending. If he can't defend, Arsenal would have gotten past us there regularly. They didn't, because Moreno can actually defend and quite well at that. The problem with Moreno is his high profile mistakes, which in combination with us knowingly forcing the opposition to attack down our left makes him look poor more often than he actually is. Combine that with the fact that he's meant to leave his winger behind in transition and you got yourself a scapegoat.

There's a reason Moreno is still around and it baffles me how people can't at least see what he does well. He fucks up too often, we all agree on that, but fuck me, people are just looking to blame him for stuff he has nothing to do with.

Either you're related to Moreno or you're just trolling?

Moreno was absolute dog shit first half, even if you forget about the penalty he gave away for a moment. Mingolet wasn't half as bad but still looked dodgy throughout.

Moreno's biggest problem along with having little game intelligence is that he has to do absolutely everything at 100mph. If he slowed down at times and used his head a little bit more he'd get far less criticism than he generally does.

I thought Mignolet was solid yesterday. Couldn't do much for a any of the goals.
