Everyone expects us to win, there's no doubt we should annihilate them without breaking a sweat.

Which is why I'm not confident going into this one, Arsenal tend to underestimate shit opponents and get sucker punched.

Hoping we've learnt our lesson.

Time for us to show some backbone. We can't fall over every single time we have a chance to make some real progress.

Arsenal 2 - 0 Newcastle

another day, another soft homer of a referee. chamberlain commits 3 or 4 fouls, then fouls perez from behind with a scissors tackle when we're on a counter... no booking. colback brings down an arsenal player when they're about to counter, booked. fuck all consistency.

it only took flamini kicking someone in the head studs first for the ref to book one of them.

Very very lucky win, but these are the games we've been dropping points in this season.

I agree the ref was shite, as was most of our team bar Cech, Koscielny and the subs.

How did we manage that?! Awful. Give them all two weeks off and play the under-15s against Sunderland in the cup. Thank god for Cech.

I couldn't agree more. As amazing as winning the FA Cup a third year running would be, the squad is paper thin at the moment and everyone is looking shattered.

Awful performance from us and we looked incapable of closing anyone down. Thankfully Newcastle are a bit shit and couldn't take advantage.

shocked at how poor your midfield was. tiote, colback and gini dominated them, we just can't finish off chances. still, winning games you shouldn't is what gets you titles.

referee has pissed me the fuck off today though. all it took was a whiny home crowd and he bent over for them. soft as fuck

You got your fair share of soft free-kicks and the refs missed one of the most blatant corners you'll see all season. They had a poor game all round.

Especially as we've got Liverpool away four days later, and Stoke away four days after that. I'm sure Allardyce has absolutely no interest in the cup either so it shouldn't be too strenuous a workout anyway.

Watch that in an Arsenal pub called the 12 pins. Horrible game. Was rooting for Newcastle.
