I'm surprised you haven't mentioned this before.......
It wasn't an enjoyable day, bearing in mind no-one knew where it was!
Lost to all sorts of crsp tinpot sides, those, altrincham, Grimsby, Histon etc

In our first game down there we earned a famous draw at home to Canvey Island. We also got beat at home by pre-Vince Forest Green.
Yeah, we outnumbered several home attendances, including Morecambe. We also had the joy of sharing the Conference with Leigh RMI, whose total attendance for the season didn't amount to our average home attendance (which incidentally was higher them than it is now)So did we in our first season, they'd lost 9 in a row until we rocked up and allowed them a 1-0 win. We followed that up by beating the famous lewes infront of 300 odd, and we took 175 of them! L

I kind of miss when the Conference was full of proper tinpotters like that, now most of the 'never been in the league' clubs down there and bankrolled rich boys' toys.
Ho ho ho!It wasn't an enjoyable day, bearing in mind no-one knew where it was!

A massive plus for Hartlepool fans, and Orient, is that you don't have to compete in the Checkafraud trophy again next year... so every cloud.
But you have to play in the FA trophy. I won't start on that one again.
The most ridiculous cup full of crap sides you've never heard of.
Still better than playing B teams
Peter Bore got a hat-trick that day.Didn't your right back get 3 that day? I walked out at 5 and said I was never going to go back. Been to Grimsby 4 times for football now, we've lost 7-2, 4-1 and 3-0 and then once got a 0-0 draw which was an absolute shitfest. Probably will give it a miss next season!
Shame about that capacity ruling, or you could have been playing them in the league.looking on the bright side we might get to play our mates from down the a 66 in the fa trophy![]()
sadly yes it is....It only takes them to share the Arena again and it's back on ! ....
They could sign on for a year whilst they knock up a stand on the little bit that they are allowed to build on ..... is that the same Blueste from into the blue ? Darrens Dad ?

no the thought never crossed my mind onceThough i'd never know if any on here did, but I wonder if any Hartlepool fans celebrated when Darlo went down with their tails now firmly between their legs.

Ah ....I said hello to you once in the bowls club ...... I saw Darren and your grandkids at Blackpool , the kids looked like they were enjoying themselves .....well one of them anyway !sadly yes it is....![]()
He's actually developed a lot as a manager at Barrow, they play better football than Mansfield used to.Any truth in the Paul Cox to Pools rumour? If so, don't expect flowing football!
