Be a chance for Villa to progress but would you accept Adams coming in baring in mind his managerial record isn't great?

He won't be as manager, I presume he'll be in as a Director of Football as I said, that is the only bit that slightly worries me about this whole thing to be honest. But we've been stagnating for 3 years now, and this should hopefully kickstart things. I hope Adams is going to work WITH Sherwood, rather than against. As much as Randy has annoyed me recently, I don't think he'll be selling to someone who's entirely clueless and is going to do something silly like putting Adams in charge, not that he has any control over that in the event of a sale. We'll have to see I suppose.

I'm sure Tim Sherwood wouldn't be too pleased about working with / under Tony Adams, despite what he might say publicly.

He doesn't strike me as a man who will sit and work contently under such circumstances,

True, would be a shame if he got screwed over imo. I think if he was allowed to buy the players he wants, and play how he wants, I reckon he'll be ok with that.

Anonymous bidder has been granted exclusivity to bid for the club. Paul Smith has failed to gain it apparently. We have a chance of being sold before next season. Hopefully means we can finally get our shit sorted!

Hope it works out well for Villa, Lerner lost interest some time ago. Not sure what Tony Adams will bring as dof though?

That's changed with the link I put in the post before yours, that one has fallen through.

OP edited to reflect this.

If Everything goes well, Villa could be a bigger club than Arsenal in few years.

I know you said the bidder is anonymous, but are there any rumours on those involved?

Not that I've seen, it's all being kept very hush hush at the moment. Not even seen any rumours as to who it could be. The only thing I've heard is that we had American and Chinese bidders interested as well as the Paul Smith consortium. All we know right now is that it isn't Paul Smith.

I'm surprised we haven't had more Chinese owners buying into English football. There are quite often Chinese parties rumoured to be involved, but other than Birmingham I can't recall a PL club being owned by a Chinese group.

Honestly, Villa have a pretty big turnover and have been run on the cheap for years, with the new deal in place and a young squad and manager they could cement themselves in European places if they had a decent moneybags owner. No reason they shouldn't be right up there with the Spurs and Evertons of the world.
