I'm shaking like a shitting dog, I'm that nervous.

The onus is all on them, they're the far bigger club, with the far richer history, with loads more fans, loads more money and superior to us in every single department.

It's an insult they should even have to play against tiny Small Heath.

I should find out tonight if I've got a ticket or not, 2800 is a total joke.

The bulk of Villa’s support are from Cannock, Tamworth, Lichfield, etc.

It will be the first time since 2011 that real Brummies will have descended on Villa Park.

I never knew Villa's main anthem was about little ol' Small Heath.

Is that real? I never knew it had verses etc I've only ever heard that high pitched 'yippee yippee' then something about benders or something.

I'd wager 99% of Villa fans don't know the words to their main 'anthem'.

The worst one is the screeching of "Viiilllllaaaa Villlllaaaaa Viiillllaaaa Viiillllaaaaaa" Only dogs can hear it.

Explains why you can hear it then. They don't call you the dog heads for nothing.

I will genuinely agree with you there, it isn't sung like that anymore. Trying to sing that now would be like the cringeworthy attempt to bring back The Bells are Ringing...

If I said I was shitting myself about this game, that would be a massive understatement.

And here are some of Villa’s finest trying to learn the words, lyrics in hand.

“Now don’t forget, we can’t sing that verse twice…”

From our side, it looks like David Cotterill may miss out on this one. A big loss for us.

2800 tickets for a cup game? Thought clubs had to give more these days? I almost got a ticket in the home end with my mate but I start work at 3am and couldn't really be arsed with the hassle that will no doubt come with this after.

Think the main reasoning behind it is because of the Police. Evening game between two clubs known to start a hell of a lot of trouble between each other, the less of them the better I guess is the logic.

Birmingham will win. Donaldson is going to awkwardly bundle it into the net at some point.

Strong header from Gestede put Villa 1-0. Still time for Clayton.

Decent atmosphere. Game would be out of site if Sherwood had tried this formation from the start. Grealish and Ayew have been very good since they came on. Still big worries for Villa though. Gestede has been awful bar his goal, Verteort hasn't found a Villa shirt all night and Lescott going off at half time summed his entire half up.

Blues look a threat against a fragile defence on the counter.

That'll fucking do!

I'm going to be modest here though, Birmingham made a damned good account of themselves, however if that second half team was out for the full 90, we'd have been well out of sight. I would say good luck for the season, but honestly, I hope you lot crash and burn and fuck off to League One.

First half was shit, all Birmingham. We set up completely wrong. Credit to Sherwood for sorting out at HT. Was impressed by Grealish, Ayew and Veretout

Unlikely. We’ll probably see you again next year to be honest. Beating Blues by only the one goal will be the pinnacle of your season.

From our POV, It’s disappointing but no shame losing to a Premier League club. We played well overall, just lacked that little bit of quality in the final third.

Just have to wait until later today to see how much damage these inbreeds have caused to our facilities though.

I never really got why Villa still sing about shitting on a city that they proudly claim to be theirs.

It is somewhat odd that they sing about shitting on a City they then claim to be theirs :D

Anyway I'm not going to sound bitter, we never capitalised on a completely dominant first half performance whereas Villa did capitalise during their dominant spell. I'd be cautious to Lord Sherwood as a tactical mastermind for bringing his best players off the bench at half time, he could of cost them the game by not playing them from the start. I was more than a little surprised to see the young Brummie Grealish not start the game, and when he finally did come on he turned the game on its head.

Disappointed but far from disgraced.

Did anyone else think that Sherwoods celebration for the goal was a bit put on? First it's a fist pump, then the realisation that this is your derby sets in, GO MENTAL!!!!
