We are Villa's only chance of doing a 'double' over anyone this season, Villa having somehow beat us 1-0 on the first day of the season with us missing a host of chances. And we do have several issues just at the moment.

Having been battered by Spurs and City, with both games embarrassingly over after only 10 minutes, there is more than just a suggestion that concentration isn't what it should be here. Yes we're petty much safe, but it's a bit early to be mentally on your holidays. Some of the basic errors at the back on show against City were farcical, and would be punished by anyone let alone a side of their quality.

So I hope Howe is able to shake some sense back into the squad. But Howe will be working with an attacking injury list that see's both King (who limped off after an hour) and Afobe likely out, our effective partnership in recent months. Add Wilson not yet fit, Grabban having played little since his return and looking extremely rusty last week, and Glenn Murray becoming the invisable man - I've little idea how we'll line up in attack. Iturbe? Definitely worth a shout. Perhaps even youngster Joe Quigley who scored a hat-trick in an U21 victory over Reading this week. If a partially fit Callum Wilson does make it onto the bench though, listen out for the roar of excitement! A Coventry boy as well..

So who do we play in attack, and in what shape? I'm sure Eddie has it all under control...

As for Villa, a defeat here could see them officially relegated should Norwich draw, or a draw against us if Norwich win, I believe. How Villa will react to the impending confirmation of their fate (be it this week or next) we'll have to see, sometimes it see's an improvement. I must say Villa looked a sorry state against Chelsea, but then Chelsea are in great form, we much less so. It was Gestede who did the damage against us previously, he's the type of centre forward we usually struggle against. If Villa have any sense they'll start him and pump the high crosses in.

Lots of talk about various protest ideas from the home fans, could be quite a weird atmosphere. Enjoyed my trip to Villa Park last season despite the Cup defeat, and I'll be on the train with a few beers this time round as well.

I think the way Bournemouth play, the pace they play at will be too much for Villa, I can see them scoring but I reckon Bournemouth should win this, look decent at odds against aswell.

I've got 60 points in the Premier League Game if Villa score five. Signed up for it before I realized that it was Villa who needed to score five and not someone else. Anyway, if you could mutually agree a 5-5 draw, that would be great.

If this Villa side do the double over you I think you should be docked 20 points.
They should just give us the third relegation spot if this happens. I actually think it could happen too :bl:

Villa haven't scored after half an hour. Well, that's not good for me.

What a terrible 45 mins of football. We're winning, CB Cook with yet another goal, but it's really poor stuff.

Job done, but that was a fucking terrible game of football.

Both goals for us were weird, so soft from Villas view. And for Villa's goal when he did a turn on the edge of our box our defenders looked at him like he was Ronaldinho.

Meh, that'll do.

Was very impressed by Ayew and the right winger second half Adama Traore(?). Pace and quality there. Don't know what the prospects of keeping them are, finance depending I guess, but they'd cause chaos in the championship. Or if they need to be sold, then I suspect there'll be plenty of cash raising offers?

Traore, Ayew and Amavi are the only three players to come out of this season with any credit whatsoever. Could make an argument for Gana too, but I don't rate him that much either tbh.
