Ha, most of me thinks you'll spank us this year, the only reason I'm predicting a draw is because BP does seem to be a happy fishing ground for us and an away trip I (almost) always enjoy!
I remember walking out in disbelief 2 or 3 seasons ago after you beat us 1 0 here.
I'm not exaggerating when i say we should have been 6 or 7 goals up before you broke on us with 10 mins left and Barnes-Homer scored a pen for 1 0.
I can't remember who your keeper was that day but i remember he was really old, and your manager said afterwards he rated his performance as 10/10, and the best goalkeeping performance he had ever seen!

10/21 - McGinty will be a big loss hence why a lot of draws this month I think. Also how we've struggled to score goals so I'm expecting a lot of 1-0s/0-0s.

To clarify, there is absolutely no logic behind any of these guesses:

Lincoln City (A) W 2-0
Aldershot (H) D 1-1
Southport (H) W 2-1
Chester FC (A) L 0-1
Barrow (H) W 3-1
Torquay (A) D 2-2
Wrexham (H) L 0-1

So 11/21, not a bad start to the season.

How long before people are calling for Brabin to be sacked if we don't win any of our first five games?

Didn't realise Tranmere's first 2 aways were Gateshead and Braintree, 2 away grounds to fully make you appreciate the depths that you have fallen to!!

Not bothering with draws this season. If we'd turned just one draw into a win last season we'd have made the play-offs.

Is it just me or does there seem to be a lot of games in August this year?

They should have given them Gateshead as a Tuesday night away game in November. "Welcome to non league"

We don't have any Welling fans on this board do we? In that case, I've taken it upon myself to predict their results, mainly because I'm bored and can't wait for tomorrow :woot:

After much deliberation and perspiration I've settled on this -

Guiseley H - lose
FGR A - lose
Team Macc A - lose
Eastleigh Vision H - lose
Gary Mills 'Arms Aloft' A - lose
Braintree H - lose
Woking A -lose

So a total of 0/21 and a terrific start to a new season. Season to end by late October, at the latest.

Not sure if fishing or genuine.

They'll get something from Guiseley and/or Braintree at home.

Genuine actually ;) I really think they'll struggle during the first couple of months, and tbh, I'll be surprised if they win a match during August. But yes, those matches you've highlighted are their best chance of getting something, though getting a newly promoted side as their opening game is far from ideal.

If previous history is anything to go by I'd give Brabin 45 minutes before people start screaming for his head.

A) Gateshead D 0-0
A) Braintree D 2-2

Though my predictions are always shite ;)

They looked a much better side then last season, well organised and quick on the break. Their front 2 of big man Adeyinka and little man Kabba will cause teams problems. They've also got Nawty Nawty, a real crowd pleaser.

I reckon they'll do alright this season.

I thought that Kabba looked to have plenty of pace, when we played them on Tuesday, enough to cause most defences problems. First half they competed well, but struggled a bit in the second when Rovers took the game by the proverbials, a bit more composure by our frontline and they might have gone down by about 3-4 clear goals. That said, I would agree with you about being quick on the break and, whilst we were unable to find the net for a second, I was always worried they might equalise...but they couldn't trouble "Super Ted".

11/21, which would be ok considering we would have played 4 teams that I expect to be in the top 8 this season

Just the 8 points from the first 7 games, however, given we have played 5 of the top 7 (think I said 4 of the top 6 in another thread but have now realised Dover are 7th), that isnt the end of the world - the 2 games we have played against those below the top 7 we have won!

Welling (H) - Win - Won

Fantastic month for us. I predicted 14 points and we got 16. Just the one, undeserved defeat to Tranmere. The early injury to Rendell and the recent injuries of Yakubu and Ricketts should have really effected us, as they are three names first down on the team sheet, but Garry Hill has worked wonders as usual.

Tough September coming up so the injuries may begin to take their toll, so it's brilliant we have a decent amount of points on the board.

I'll do my usual trick of being non-committal on individual scores/results!

Cheltenham (h) - D 1-1
Braintree (a) - W 3-1
Eastleigh (a) - D 1-1
Macclesfield (h) - W 5-3
FGR (a) - L 1-3
Grimsby (h) - D 1-1
Gateshead (a) - L 0-2

Easy start. 10/21
9 out of 21, so about in line with that I thought. Been a tough opening month having played 4 of the current top 5, with Wrexham next who are in 6th.

8/21 a tough start to the season for us, there's a good chance with these fixtures we could come away with only 1 or 2 points

Well I was far off. At least we've got FGR, Wrexham, Gateshead (a) and Tranmere out of the way

I will have a go at this.

Bradford Park Avenue (A) - Lose Draw
Lowestwoft (H) - Win LOST
Brackley (H) - Win DRAW
Gloucester (A) - Win DRAW
Curzon Ashton (H) - Win DRAW
Solihull Moors (A) - Lose LOST
Gainsborough (H) - Win
WON

7/21. Favourable start in terms of fixtures and we failed to take advantage. Poor start.

5 correct outcomes out of 7 is pretty good I think. I think I'll continue to predict their results unless of course some Welling fan wants to take over?

I thought i was being negative by predicting 8 points, and we ended up with even less. Poor start really, especially at home, happy to have got some of the more difficult/long away trips out of the way.

I had 4 wins 2 draws and a loss (which i thought was optimiatic) so to come away with 5 wins and 2 losses isn't too far off.

I didn't expect us to score so many goals either. 15 in 7 with a bucket load of missed chances bodes well. A tough September to come.
