Frustrating. We so easily could have had four points from these two away games, instead it's one because of a combination of poor finishing and bad luck (the penalty decision at Brighton).

I'm convinced we'll be fine too but points have to start rolling in very soon. Time flies and before we know it it'll be the half way point.

That miss from Ameobi
He's worse then his brother, somehow.

I think it's fair to say that win at Middlesbrough we can solely dedicate to Hamer, he pulled off 3 or 4 incredible saves, and then was dropped after?

Frustrating game that. Cardiff were there for the taking, but we didn't go for it if Cotterill's substitutions (or lack of) are anything to go by. Wilbraham again was blowing out of his arse after 60, was a perfect time to get Cox on, and he left him on sat on the bench.

Draw probably a fair result in all honesty, both teams had fantastic chances to win it at the end. Decent point - but it's no good unless we back it up with a win at home on Saturday.

As for individuals - I thought Bennett and Korey Smith had fantastic games, and Kodjia was outstanding again. Wilbraham was knackered after 60 like already said, and Pack had an off night.

A month ago we'd have lost that game, so I'm happy we've ground that out. Win now on Saturday please.[/COLOR]
Pack was ok actually, wouldn't say he had an off night but he should've had a couple more shots from long range really, he just passed it backwards/sideways when he got the ball in a good shooting position. Bryan didn't really have a good game IMO,kept giving the ball away.

I would say that we should've won that one. We had the majority of the chances and as the Cardiff fan said in CU's post, if it wasn't for Marshall we'd have won 2 or 3 nil. The away stand was rocking and seemed to make more noise than Cardiff. The stadium really did sound like a a library. Guess it doesn't help that only 15,000 went really, which is extremely poor considering they are the football team for the whole of the capital of Wales. I would definitely have taken a draw before the match, but as we now start to kick on and really impress, we need to get some points before we hit injuries/bad form, or otherwise relegation beckons to be honest.

Yeah, the away end was very good for the limited numbers of us that went, and the Cardiff fans have brought recognition to that on their fans forum.

As for Bryan - he's a luxury we can't afford at wing back in this league. He's far too attacking to play there, he leaves us defensively exposed. The difference between him and Williams is that Bryan will add more attacking threat, which he does well, and he nearly scored a few times last night, but Williams is defensively sound. Not sure how we can accomadate Bryan into this 3-5-2 in this division.

Yeah, I agree with you. We need to either get him to defend more or loan him out to a League One side really, because we definitely need him as he will become a good player. Either that or switch formation, which won't happen.

I still can't believe you let Cunningham go, he's Championship quality all the way. Roy Keane has been at Deepdale several times this season to watch him, wouldn't be a surprise if he's playing for ROI at the Euros next summer.

I know, guess we hadn't played him for so long we forgot how good he was tbh. If i'm honest, I didn't think it would be a big deal, but it definitely has been. Error of judgement from the manager and me.

Same here TBH. While we all expected and hoped JB would reproduce his form at this higher standard, that very standard appears to be the problem. While Joe could get away with bombing forward in L1, he can't in the Championship and we look a more solid side with Williams there instead of JB as he's a better defender at the mo. Maybe keeping GC would have been a better idea.
How things change eh?

Most of our summer activity was a difficulty to believe. Letting Greg go was one of many cases, although he'd have just been sat on the bench here - so it's probably best on a personal level that he left.

If only we had kept JET to partner Kodjia.

Every game we play is a reminder of how stupid the decision was.

Woah bit early to be writing off Bryan guys. He's still a quality player. Bit out of form and still adapting to the wingback role in this league, getting the balance right defensively, but he'll come good.

Look at Williams. Had a poor start to the season but since he was dropped he's come back and been outstanding. Joey will do the same.

And he'll start the next couple I imagine with Baker's hamstring injury. Could be up against Fredericks on Saturday, be interesting.

He's been in and out of the side, good cover at this level.

Kilkenny's been decent for us, time to get over it.

I didn't even consider that he was watching Cunningham, I presumed he was there to watch Browne. Could be both I suppose.

Not writing him off, I love the kid, and I think he'd be an excellent winger in this league, but I think he leaves us defensively exposed when he plays the wing-back role.

As for Cunningham, I was so gutted we let him go. If truth be told, he'd have probably started more games this season already than he did in the entirety of last season, but Williams has surprisingly done very well in that role.

.
Same from me, well put JJH.
I hope Joe's defensive side of the game improves with experience but, at the moment, DW's defensive capabilities put him ahead of JB in the formation we play, at the standard we play at.
JB will learn, I have no doubt about that.

Must be a Bristol thing...

Not sure how you could call someone kid who is older than you and not feel like an utter fool.
Derailing the thread completely, but if a 7 year old referred to a 9 year old as a kid, that'd be deemed as wrong?
