No offence intended O's.

Right, lots of York fans set to be coming down for this, seems to be one of the matches a lot of us picked out when the fixture list came out and, as a result, I can only imagine a large amount of alcohol will be consumed on the early trains out of York on Saturday morning.

For those wanting to continue drinking and have a tipple when we arrive at Leyton, what pubs are good/accomodate away fans folks?

Thanks in advance

No offence taken - the side is fairly good for this level, and the manager is an arrogant gobshite.

The Coach and Horses on the high road near the away end is a popular haunt for away fans with little or no appreciation of quality - Southend fans love it, the clueless no-marks. Typical shithole London dive of a pub with its convenience the only saving grace.

For hipster tosspots there is The Leyton Technical, located in the old town hall on the High Road midway between the tube and the ground. Four quid plus for a pint of Mauritanian Juniper Berry Pale Ale or whatever artisan pisswater they have on this week. Populated by goths and wankers, it's best avoided if male topknots bring you out with a case of the fighties.

The Supporters Club at the ground will let you in for a quid (though sometimes it's home fans only). If you don't mind fighting your way through a queue of amiable cockneys 10-deep at the bar or a faint smell of musty piss, then this is the place for you. London's CAMRA club of the year God knows how many times in a row, it's probably the best place to drink real ale in the capital. Upwards of 20 different ales on tap during the day (around 10 at any one time) none of which will set you back more than £3. Just don't touch the lager - none of the train spotting stattos in there drink it, so it sits in the pipes all season cultivating mould.

Best all-rounders in the area are The William IV, which is up near Leyton Midland, and The Birkbeck Tavern which is tucked away behind the tube station and has a cracking beer garden. The latter has a pool table, decent selection of lagers and ales and - most importantly - me, usually.

As for the game, you will be fucking awful and win 1-0.

The former is much more likely than the latter. If we get something out of this I doubt it will be 0-1 as we can't defend for toffee. We're due a bit of luck, but I can't say I'm that optimistic. Wouldn't be massively surprised to get a point, but really just hoping for a decent day out and further signs of improvement from our lot.

Everyone I've talked to seems to be going, there could be 600-700 of us.

What a thorough offering and a couple of chuckles thrown in as well, I like Orient fans now.
If I was tempted to go to watch the early kick off on BT Sport, which of the above would be showing the match? Want to have all bases covered, does the CAMRA Club Bar have the football on? That's sounding very tempting at the moment

Think the SC has Sky rather than BT Sport, but I might be mistaken. Birkbeck has it though.

Sure The Terminator will be on shortly to confirm or refute the veracity of the above, as well as predict a much heavier defeat than 1-0.

This has York victory written all over it, I don't think we've beaten York at home for over 25 years as well.

They haven't won for ages, lost 6 in a row and have a new manager.

Hendon is twat, he went into the season with a small squad and says he will rely on the loan market when he has to, well he is now struggling to bring players in on loan as apparently no one wants to drop to League Two. Fuck off.

His tactics are shit, he plays our main game through a carthorse of a striker in Ollie Palmer and we've been awful as a team defensively. Wouldn't be suprised if York won 3-0 or 4-0.

The sooner Hendon fucks off the better.

The last time the two clubs met was 11 seasons ago in May 2004, a narrow 2-1 win for us at Bootham Crescent (Our first in something like 13 games) saw us avoid relegation for the 3rd season in a row to the Conference.

Sadly York were condenmed to the drop after a disastrous run of form from December - Which I don't think they won a game for the rest of the season after financial problems within the club.

The game will be remembered when York released virtually their whole squad a day before the game and played alot of youngsters, they still took the lead mind.

Both clubs appear to be returning to those days in League Two where you're simply shit year on year out.

I honestly can't be arsed, the last 18 months have been truly shocking to watch, Becchetti has made us a laughing stock and its emotionally draining the players and fans.

Cisak
Clohessy Baudry Dunne/Kpekawa Shaw
Payne
Pritchard Moore
James
Marquis Simpson

Subs:
Sargeant
Dunne/Kpekawa
Moncur
Turgott
Palmer
Kashkett

Is how I'd prefer to see us lineup, we play everything through the shit Ollie Palmer - Who despite his good workrate, has little composure in front of goal, not to mention awful movement in the box. I'd play Kpekawa over Dunne as well, I've tried to be patient with Dunne but his performances have been woeful. Kpekawa cannot be much worse even if he is mainly a full back.

We can't name 7 subs due to injuries. Paul McCallum & Dean Cox gone for the season, Connor Essam out till the end of January and our backup keeper now has apendescitis apparently. We also have a small squad.

York usually get one over us, they're due a win and have a new manager. We will lose, playing the same shit with an awful defensive structure. To stand any chance of getting anything we have to score first and get a second quickly or we're in for a long afternoon.

We are seemingly likely to play two very inexperienced centre halves - George Swan (2 professional appearances) and Will Morris (0 professional appearances) with the likes of Keith Lowe/John McCombe seeming to be in the departure lounge, along with many other players come the end of the loan window/January I am reliably informed. Over the next few weeks/months, we may well see improvement from us and climb up the table a bit when Jackie gets his tactics across, I can't see that being tomorrow though. We did our best to help Barnsley get out of a rut, and we will do the same for you. There are loads of York fans coming to this- 500-700 depending on who you listen to- and it seems as though their day in the smoke will be ruined by a game of football.

Hope we don't leave anyone asleep in the Gulag this morning. Changed my mind about the score - think it will be 0-2, unless Dunne starts, in which case 0-3.

Enjoy the game and safe travels to all who are bothering with this one.

We deserved the win, but it was still the same poor defending structure which has let us down all season.

York were very very poor in the first half they didn't close us down, yet like everyone else does it seems, we let them have one chance and one shot and they scored from it which completely changed the game in the second half.

York threw more bodies forward second half, after only having Oliver up front on his own with no support in the first half. We was clearly nervous, but Simpson managed to bag a much needed second - Great strike, but the defending to let him turn was shambolic.

After that our game management went from poor to very very nervous and you could sense another York goal, Cisak made a superb save to keep it 3-1 for a bit longer until the inevitable happened. York had alot of the ball but for me only created 3 chances and they took 2 of them. Having said that, Mvoto and Kpekaka were thrown in at the deep end at Centre back, having both only signed this week and having to play together after Baudry went off injured was a tough ask, but today they just about did enough although Mvoto was out of gas at the end.

McNamara has a huge job ahead of him at York, they were awful in the first half and although they got a foot back in it a better side would've killed them off quicker I felt.
