So, after picking up consecutive wins against MK, Posh and Cov, this should be a walkover, right?

One wishes.

Oldham will be just as difficult, and will prove to be a tough test for our injury-ravaged squad.

We lost stand-in RB Tony McMahon to Cov last Saturday. With Stephen Darby also out injured, we're a tad light on numbers in that area of the park. So, with Hanson, Darby, McArdle, Clarke and Killgallon still out injured, our starting XI may look like this;

GK: Colin Doyle

RB: Danny Devine
CB: Romain Vincelot
CB: Nat Knight-Percival
LB: James Meredith

RM: Mark Marshall
CM: Timothee Dieng
CM: Josh Cullen
LM: Nicky Law

ST: Jordi Hiwula
ST: Billy Clarke

With young Devine being shifted to RB, this would surely pave the way for Tim Dieng's first start for the club, ironically against the club he left in the summer.

Expecting a big performance from him.

Not sure how young Devine with fair against Ryan Flynn, but he's been magnificent so far this season - at CDM, granted.

I'd probably take a draw given the number of injuries, but I wouldn't be surprised if we completely steamroll 'em.

1-1 - Hiwula

Yesterday was the first time we had conceded in open play this season, albeit to a team in the division above. We've looked generally solid at the back, having kept 3 clean sheets in a row, so ignoring the "anything can happen with Latics" tag, I would be surprised if you steamrolled us.

I'd take your 1-1 scoreline though - goals are the issue for us.

Connor Ripley

Josh Law - - - Peter Clarke - - - Cameron Burgess - - - Charles Dunne

Paul Green - - - Ousmane Fane

Ollie Banks - - - Ryan Flynn - - - Lee Erwin

Billy McKay
950 Latics in attendance

Mckay needs a goal, considering that's the only thing he's in the team to do.

With such a long injury list I'm going for a scrappy 1-1 draw also, strange to have so many out so early in the season and many of them not even kicked a ball yet. Wouldn't be the worst result in the world for a patched up 11 though.

Reckon we will win this. Ignoring the mullering we got at millwall on opening day we are getting better with every game. The only downside to the Bury performance is the lack of confidence in front of goal. We just don't know what to do after the 18 yard line. We actually look excellent everywhere else on the pitch.

We don't seem to do too badly at Bradford over the years so I'm gunna go for a sneaky 1 - 0 blues. Especially with Hanson being out

We're a better side without Hanson.

Devine's been playing well in CM and apparently looked dodgy at full back in pre-season so maybe keep him there and try fit Dieng into the back four somewhere.

Or start cracking out the voodoo healing rituals.

An absolute travesty of a referee.

How anyone misses that blatant penalty I'll never know.
You're kidding right, one set piece and Oldham score, apart from that it's been all City, how the feck are we losing.lucky and desperate defending from Oldham

Nicky Law was class. Completely ran the show. Bradford deserved their equaliser through sheer pressure alone, though they created little.

The referee was an absolute shambles though. Soft penalty for them and an absolute gimme missed for us.

Good to see Bradford playing decent stuff though. They should do well this season.

I managed to get there for the second half, due to working till 3pm - so I missed Oldhams goal, and by all accounts, Meredith dived in needlessly for Oldhams free-kick that lead to the goal.

Peter Clarke loves a goal against us, the lanky terrier wanker.

For the game that I did see, much like every game I've seen this season, we've dominated with our flair play - which is refreshing to see.

All that with numerous injuries to key players, it does bode well - so you can't be too downhearted.

It was desperate at times for Oldham, but they looked relatively solid.

We're absolutely crying out for a striker, and I'm sure Stuart will do the business before the transfer window closes.

Pretty gutted to have only drawn having dominated so much, final ball was no where near good enough though added to the amount of times we were just wide or just over. Law is wasted out wide and can say the same for Vincelot in defence but as today proved it comes down to lack of numbers and thankfully a few come backs are around the corner, likewise surely we must bring some more in by Wednesday, we had however many missing and nothing on the bench to bring on. Good signs though today, the consensus is Oldham should have had a pen but our looked blatant also, special mention for the seven (by my count) handballs by Oldham today, not something you see everyday

Something about needing a striker. Desperately.

Yes. It was a penalty for Oldham.

Yes, our penalty was a penalty (albeit soft).

Yes, Clarke punched the ball clear and the ref missed that also.

Missed decisions work both ways.

Think Oldham fans went over the top with the ref. I can understand why as they should have had a pen but he gave them A LOT of other stuff and it was definitely a pen for us. As for the game we should have won. Thought we played some great stuff today but finishing let us down again.

Agree with this as well really, amount of times Oldham chucked themselves on the floor or wasted time or practically caught the ball, but then their fans were up in arms about the ref being a 'cheat'. Such is football.

Thought the ref did pretty well. After he had decided not to give either side a penalty he thought 3rd time lucky. Any defence including Peter Clarke will be well organised and whilst they rode their luck, you make your own luck. Also, you get what you deserve and our finishing was so abysmal, we didn't deserve to win.

Oldham played well, stuck to their job manfully. My point would be we pulled them all over the pitch at times and they had to concentrate for 90 mins. They will be knackered tomorrow and their fans celebrated like they'd won the league at the end.

Under Parkinson we would have lost that game 1-0 as we would have created nowt against basically a 6 man defence at times. As it was we carved out some decent opportunities and pulled a draw out so we are moving forward.

22 shots and 63% possession against a decent side is something we but could've dreamed of in recent years, the disappointment of only drawing after those stats is offset by just that, the fact we're playing really well and on another day could've scored four or five. There's a really good vibe at the minute and the potential of what we can achieve with a fully fit squad is exciting. Oldham hiding behind a dodgy penalty not being given isn't really justification given the opposition have an equally dodgy penalty shout not given also and that's without mentioning the fact they were never really in the game from an offensive point of view; defensively though they're walking away with a well fought draw and you can't knock that

We can't hide the fact that for 2 out of 3 home games we have wiped the floor with the opposition and only drawn. Unless we can get a goalscorer in, we are likely to be repeating this. When Oldham appealed for a pen yesterday, the ref immediately signalled he thought no contact had been made and their players did go down quite a lot. In the 1st half their skipper was about to take a free kick 30 yards away from their goal when he turned round and told the goalie to go down. He did and stayed down for a few mins. On top of this, I thought the number 6 had died on the pitch 3 times.

To be midtable after a tricky start is a decent achievement. Were organised but are seriously lacking goals which could prove to be our undoing.

Apparently rode our luck at times but also had a stonewall penalty turned down so swings and roundabouts.

Just seen a gif of the penalty that should have been.

I don't think you will see a more obvious penalty this season
