The return of Lee Johnson to where he's so dearly loved in South Yorkshire.

Only the three draws combined between us in the league this season, bound to be a winner and I'm quietly confident it'll go our way after last nights showing.

Fielding
Matthews, Flint, Magnusson, Golbourne;
Smith,
Reid, Tomlin;
Paterson, Freeman;
Abraham
We start 1-0 down as it's written in the stars that Adam Hammill will score, but that's no bother as we go behind in most games this season anyway.

Barnsley 1-3 City

Hammill. Abraham, Reid, Tomlin.

Ince would still score against us if he become a quadriplegic.

Didn't score.

He'll definitely score and you'll definitely score more than one. Can't be arsed with this fixture, it's a write-off every single year.

This was about Chris Wood, didn't score.

Of course you have to factor into this game the mandatory Ricky Lambert goal, so we effectively start at 1-0 down..

Didn't score.

He's right this time though. Armstrong, Winnall, Kent and Bradshaw will all score too and we'll win by 5 or 6 despite missing our first choice centre-half and at least one of our first choice centre midfielders.

Barnsleh will be a tough game for our lot so I'd be happy with a point in all honesty. I'll go for a score draw..

It's written in the stars.

I kinda hope we go 3-0 up and then Hammill scores now.

Not overly optimistic as we can't seem to play well for any longer than 45 minutes.
That being said play anywhere near the last half hour on Tuesday for a sustained period and I think Barnsley will struggle to cope.

No point predicting as I don't know which City will turn up.

Played well against hull with a weakened team so fairly confident we can get something here, especially if tomlin turns up.. near unplayable when he's at it.

1-2

Quite literally a few of the Barnsley squad are shitting themselves at the prospect of playing us then.

Mind games maybe?

LJ knows the majority of that squad, maybe Heckingbottom is keeping him guessing.

Easy 0 - 3 er.

Golbourne, Brownhill and Johnson - late cameo.

Play like in the last few league games we'll struggle, more like the last half hour on Tuesday and we'll be hard to stop.

I'd be tempted to go 2 up top, Abraham's been very isolated recently. Maybe something like this, a sort of 4-2-2-2:

Fielding
Matthews Flint Magnusson Bryan
O'Neill Smith
Tomlin Reid
Abraham Wilbraham
Potentially Engvall in there instead if fit enough. That won't be what we'll go with but I'd be interested to see it. A bit narrow maybe, but we don't play with much width anyway, even with Freeman/Paterson/O'Dowda in there they're always drifting inside off the ball. If we're looking to play through the middle, why not go the whole hog?

Dang it, it was so obvious that we wouldnt hold out.. But im not sure if we really deserved to overall, given our first half performance with sounded truly abysmal. Im pretty content with a point overall.

Always feels like a defeat with an equaliser that late...although it's a massive cliche I'd have taken a point anyway before kick off

Dunno what it is about our crap first halves. Really starting to hold back our progress.

Entertaining game of football. End to end and a deserved point for both teams in the end I thought.

Was starting to think we weren't going to get the equaliser despite creating plenty of chances until Hammill's moment of magic.

Anyway, quite enjoyed that game.

Another no-show from us in the first half again, but Barnsley played some nice stuff in wide areas and could've went in 2-0 up at the break had it not been for Fielding's penalty save. It was never a fucking penalty in a million years, but that's besides the point.

Second half Tomlin ran the show as always and we got the full backs into higher areas and looked quite good.

Anyway, another shite set of officials. Every fucking week they're absolutely appalling and it's beginning to properly piss me off.

I'm not saying the referee was in favour of the home side either, he was just generally awful. Didn't let the game flow, made some ridiculous key decisions and kept fucking around at their corners.

Utter joke, the standard of refereeing in this league is embarrassing.

Interesting to read that in comparison to what some of your fans are saying about us on your forum. This post in particular is childish, bitter and quite frankly hilarious! Why the bitterness towards us? Is it about LJ? If so, shouldnt people get over it considering it worked out well in the end for both our clubs?

Same as any other fans really. Some are bitter about the LJ situation and the incidents involving some of our players and loanees in the summer. Lord knows why though coz I don't reckon we'd be in this position had LJ stayed. Brownhill got a standing ovation from about 70% of our fans when he came on today so I do believe these people are in the minority to be fair. Unfortunately it only takes a few morons to influence a general view on a clubs fans as this forum is testament to. Most of the folk sat near me were in agreement that a point was a fair result in the end.
