AKA Chesterfield.

Need to win if we're to keep up with Bradford and Millwall who just don't seem to be losing at the moment. Danny Wilson will get a great reception but I hope he continues his relatively poor start with Chesterfield and we get the 3 points we need to keep in touch with the top 6.

You will win, no worries about that. Although it's not one of those grounds we've played at year after year, I don't recall us ever having too much success at Oakwell. Danny Wilson has done OK with the utter shite he has inherited from Deanosaur, with the absolute lack of quality in this squad by rights, we should have been relegated by now. It's because of Wilson we have a half a chance of staying up.

And don't associate us with you Yorkshire types.......it's distressing.

Calling us Yorkshire is like calling someone from Barnsley a Tory.

By the way, the idea that managers always lose after receiving the MOTM award is just a myth...isn't it?

Thought the thread title would go down well.

I really don't know what will happen on the pitch, we've been toss the previous 3 times we've played each other since coming back down and our last two home games have been poor.
Ideally we'll carry on from our second half performance at Wembley, and hopefully it won't be a case of after the Lord Mayor's Show (I hate that phrase but didn't know how else to put it).

Point taken on the thread title front.

Feel absolutely distraught and dejected after that. Having our season ended at home by a side playing with 10 men for the last 15 minutes is bad enough but for it to be against a team managed by Danny Wilson, the man that brought so much joy for a lot of our fanbase (when I was too young to remember) but only misery to me, is about as galling as it gets.

In fact, I'm that down about it I can't be arsed to write a report. All I will say is that daylight robbery it might have been, but it was the stupid, stupid decision to drop our most consistent performer for an 18 year old RB just back from injury which cost us our season today. Good luck in your fight against the drop Spireites, if Wilson's track record is anything to go by it won't end well but enjoy the win today and pray that you can keep Ariyibi, Novak and Lee for next season.

I wouldn't call it daylight robbery. Yes, we were slightly fortunate a couple of times (unfortunate for the goal though if was deflected as it seemed to be) but it was more about your poor shooting. The obvious ones being lad who seemed to have put every one their arse but Talbot cleared it off the line and the one off the inside of the post and across the face of goal.

By the same token though, if we were lucky then you were just as lucky that Lee Novak missed one that he could have pulled his old chap out for and used it slap the ball across the line. How he didn't score, I guess the TV footage will reveal what happened.

Lee will be here, no doubt (fully expect him to see his career out with us and break appearance records). Novak would be a great signing if something can be sorted money-wise. Gboly Ariyibi is a curious case - from utterly anonymous to hard to handle and today was one of his relatively rare good days. If he keeps up that creativity with his pace and skill he could be an outstanding player.

Cheers. I don't think you will get in the play offs. I think you may end up nicking second. Our season though is all but over, it's been a while since I've been so deflated about a result. 3 points on Tuesday will give us a glimmer of hope but it looks grim after today.

So will JCR be suspended for a game next week he couldn't play in anyway?

Kinda hilarious that JCR is out of a game he wouldn't have played in anyway.

And I'm struggling to understand our Barnsley friend's desolation at the result. They looked bottom six rather than top six candidates pre Christmas yet've enjoyed a terrific last few months culminating in the Wembley win.

Disappointing not to make the play offs, perhaps, but a definite upward curve.

I totally understand where you're coming from. We've done incredibly well since December and I'm incredibly proud of how the team have turned things around, given us a Wembley win and some great memories beating teams up and down the country with the best away form I can remember us being in. I'll look back on this season and realise, post Christmas, it's probably the most I've enjoyed watching us (I've only been going regularly since 07/08 so it's mainly been one long collage of shite).

I can still be gutted at our play off chances seemingly going up in smoke though in what was (with the greatest of respect) a very winnable game. Not least when you went down to 10 men after we'd equalised and were in the ascendancy.

But fair play, you showed great character to get the 3 points and we've just got to move on and give ourselves a slim chance by winning on Tuesday.

I don't think it was that onesided to be honest, 56% possesion for us and we could have gone in at the break infront, not sur ehow Novak missed from all of 3 yards?!

Second half it was a different game and Lee was excellent for us (the bloke will go down as a legend at this club) but we scored 2 good goals on the break and then clung on with 10 men for 10 minutes!
