A second Yorkshire derby in a row for us, should be another good crowd at Oakwell with two teams who will both be going blood and thunder for the 3 points.

Huddersfield was the first game we played this season where I left thinking, on the balance of play, we'd probably not been the better side. Despite being off the pace, we were still unlucky to come away with nothing and could easily have won had Stefan Payne buried a gilt-edged chance at 1-1.

Rotherham got a good win against Brentford last weekend and will come into the game confident of getting at least something. However, if we play like we did in our first two home games then I can only see one winner.

Hoping for a cracking, fiery South Yorkshire derby and 3 points for us.

A difficult derby game so early in the season when all our new players are still learning about one another.
No Frecks again so would willingly take a point.
Really glad to see us both in the same league again.
The rivalry in the 70's and 80's was quite fierce both on and off the pitch, hope there's none of that on Saturday, I can't run now.
Not too sure where's best to go for a pint pre-match, any recommendation lads?

Looking forward to the game as its been a long time since we played Barnsley competitively. If we play like we did last week and the first half against Wolves then im confident we'll get a positive result but our away record so far is diabolical although against 2 promotion contenders. I think this is a game where neither team will be happy with a draw and both expecting to win so should be a cracking South Yorkshire derby.

Should be a decent crowd hopefully, we sold 2100 tickets from Monday afternoon so i reckon 3000 millers there i reckon should be decent atmosphere and hopefully trouble free as i be probably drinking in town before the game.

Predicted team line up

Camp
Fisher, Ball, Wilson, Kelly
Vaulks, Forster-Caskey
Taylor, Allan, Brown
Ward

I expect nothing less than 3 points from this. I'm not going to beat around the bush and pretend I'm not going to be disappointed with anything other than a win.

We've beaten Derby and QPR convincingly at Oakwell (QPR would not have scored from open play had we played a further 90 minutes) and an unbeaten Huddersfield only just beat us on their turf. Rotherham got arseholed on both their previous away games (albeit against clubs expected to challenge for promotion to be fair I suppose) and squeezed past Brentford at the NYS.

All will depend on the battle in midfield, and ours is quite simply superior.

I mean no disrespect to Rotherham and their fans and hope all the travelling supporters have a good day. I also hope we both ultimately stay up this season as the more local derbies the better. As I say though, I will be bitterly disappointed if we don't win this.

I reckon we'll win this. Barnsley fans are way too confident and think that attitude may have worked it's way to the team if that's the vibe around the club.

2-0, Brown and and Ward with 3000 Millers.

Because confidence has a negative effect.

If you're implying that our team will not take Rotherham seriously and become complacent then I'm confident you're mistaken.

We'll see what happens on the day but you and your fans are most definitely underestimating us.

Then it's a good thing it won't be me and 10 other Barnsley fans playing your lot on Saturday.

Like Craig I also expect 3 points from this one, but if it turns out to be a draw then so be it.

I expect Rotherham to have a good go but I honestly can't see them living with us, particularly at home. Anything can happen in a derby though and that's the only thing that worries me.
Rotherham practically have an entirely new midfield which is still getting to grips with each other, whereas ours have played together for about a year now and have dominated 3 out of the 4 games we've played. This is why I think we'll dominate on Saturday.

Hammill and White have things to prove and Bradshaw is due a goal as well.
Hourihane will shine again.

2-0 to us. Bradshaw and Watkins with the goals.

There's nothing wrong with feeling confident, Barnsley have started well whereas we are still getting to know one another, so you can see why Craig is so sure of his team.
At both Villa and Brighton we showed good signs for decent periods in both games but ultimately lost 3 0.
Against Wolves we played some of the best football I've seen from a Rotherham side in the first half.

Last week we looked a bit stronger in defence but I was still a bit worried how Brentford ran through us too easily at times, without creating too many clear cut chances thankfully.

I would have to make Barnsley favourites, we seldom do well there, they have had a better start and have a more settled team.
But you never know in football, I just wish it was in another 4 weeks time.

Looking forward to it though, just glad Mr Kettle wont be around.

MacDonald has big boots to fill. On the brightside Winnall may be in the squad today.

Think you just overestimate your team on how poor they are.

This thumping is even funnier due to the fact 3 of the players SERNWA has slagged off scored...

Well done Barnsley never saw that coming at half time but we were totally outclassed us in the second half.
Thought we were decent enough first half but never looked like scoring.
Stubbs out got their first arings after the match.
But we did clap Hamill and White off at the end. It was funny really because the rest of the Barnsley players clapped back .

Thank God for the international break Stubbs needs to get a centre forward and teach the midfield some discipline

I said at half time that it was the poorest I've seen us play so far this season but it was still an even first half. The fact we weren't losing at half time though meant I knew we would be much better in the 2nd half and most likely win.

The problem for Rotherham is that if you thought your first half display was decent then you really are in for a very long season.
Apart from a couple of crosses you created very very little and you just tried to stop us playing instead of looking to play yourself.
Your 2nd half performance was the poorest I've seen from an opposing team at Oakwell in quite some time, and that includes League 1 teams.
In all honesty we barely got out of 3rd gear all game.

You need Frecklington back asap and you'll probably get better after players have gelled etc.
I thought Izzy Brown was decent for you when he had the ball but he offered nothing off it.
Camp will win you points this season but your defence looked really slow and I can't remember your full backs getting forward once.
I like Vaulks but he had a poor game yesterday.
Ward will be better if you get another striker to help him.

To be fair to SERNWA, he won't be posting in here as he's banned until September 30th.
