That weakly hit ground ball in the double play sweet spot 2nd time up was a touching tribute to Jetes, I thought.

8-8 ball game in the battle for the prestigious Mayor's Cup! (Twins commentators seem to think it's the Governor's Cup, which is just great)

So Red Sox pitching staff in mid-season form already, basically?

Part of me would be chuffed winning 82 games, but the other part of me is thinking of the draft pick.

I think you lot have a shot at the wildcard, maybe even the division. Its pretty open. You will be better off for not having the corpse of Jeter at shortstop and the top of the lineup. Saying that I still have you in fourth!

Other than that, shame about the injuries to Lee, Darvish and Stroman. Really enjoy watching Lee and although Stroman is a Blue Jay he is a good talent.

A lot depends on what we get out of CC, Tanaka and Pineda. We'll go as far as they can take us, which may not be far given their injury records.

Alternatively you win another World Series, go to the playoffs last year and make so much money you can afford to right off the last three years. The last 2 years would only be at an extra 30m anyway.

Possibly, but not sure we would have last year with the way we hit anyway. And would we have got Tanaka or traded for Pineda? I don't think we would have landed Tanaka, that's for sure.

I remember watching Channel 5 back in the day and Josh waxing lyrical about Hull's baseball history after they got some random email from the Magic City. I had no idea it was such a HOTBED before that.

I've seen several sets of predictions that have the Nats 20+ games ahead of Miami but I just can't see it. We have a very good team this year. Pennant contenders.

Had my fantasy auction yesterday. Anyone reckon we would get enough interest for one on here?

Probably not. We've done it before, and usually only 3 or 4 people take it seriously.

Not long to go now, anyone going to any games this year? I'm going to Florida in May, but don't have any plans to go to a game at the moment.

Yeah I thought that might be the case. Shame as it can be good fun.

No games for me this year I think. I made 2 last year which was great. The girlfriend was talking about wanting to go to New York but not sure how we could afford that.

I went to 4 games in April (3 in DC and 1 in Baltimore), but we're having a theme park holiday this year in Florida.

I have tried to talk her in to going to Tampa, but she's not having it given she doesn't care about either team playing. Neither do I to be fair, but still... I might search for any minor league teams in Orlando.

You could do Bush Gardens during the day then head over for an evening game? I have done that before. It is a long day but worth it to see some baseball.

Our time will be taken up at Disney and Universal Studios. Think the nearest minor league team is in Daytona and that's an hour plus away.

Mets fan here, expecting another season of averageness. I see we've lost Wheeler to TJS.

Planning a trip to America later this year but doubt I'll catch a game. Been lucky enough to have seen a Yankee vs Mets game at the old Yankee Stadium and a Mets vs Dodgers at Shea.

Welcome!

Just wondering what you thought about old YS and Shea? I'm a Yankees fan, so I would say this, but I found old YS to be a lot better than Shea. I just felt that the huge car park, and it's location didn't help it.

In other news, this might cheer RB up. Or not.

I loved the old YS, was exactly like I expected from seeing it in all the old movies etc. We got seats up on the top deck in the outfield so near the yellow pole and it was really fascinating watching from up there. The atmosphere was much better than my game at Shea but to expected as it was the Subway series.

But I can understand why both built new stadiums.

Anyone else got OOTP 16? Bought this at the weekend and despite being a veteran at FM I have no idea what Im doing.

So is Justin Verlander on the decline, or was last year and his first DL stint just blips?
