I don't for a second believe Mansfield had more possession or meaningful chances. That's not to belittle Mansfield, they had a game plan, they stuck to it, they won. It wasn't pretty but it was clearly effective - as in from what I can see Mansfield were instructed to sit deep and hit is when vunerable, mainly on the left side. I think we had one chance inside the area the Palmer superbly missed.

Manafield had a game plan and they stuck to it superbly. I had them down as play off contenders and I've seen nothing that makes me think different. I liked the way you've transitioned into a ball playing side and - nothing to do with Mansfield being my favourite league two one-1FF side StagsForLife , I genuinely wish you all the best - your game plan was spot on.

Thanks buddy. Our style isn't always easy on the eye, and I'm sure we maybe annoy a few teams, but we're trying to do our best on what we've got.

For what it means, winning at a club like orient is a big boost for us, and a surprise to most

You were absolutely dreadful to be honest. Had a five minute flurry around the missed penalty, but that was about it. No quality whatsoever.

On the other hand, as decent as we are in between both boxes when we get the ball down, it's entirely outweighed by both our defending, which is an absolute disgrace, and Ollie Palmer. Joint worst player on the pitch (along with Darius Henderson, obviously).

Always a good sign to win when you don't play particularly well.

That's what we were saying last week. Wasn't a very good sign as it turned out.

Re: my previous post, please don't think that I meant you didn't deserve the win; you did. Had the clearer-cut chances all game. It's just that at no stage were said chances created with either 'clever' or 'good' football; we were just irredeemably bad off the ball and either let it happen or fail to defend a set piece. It's baffling.

It's been like that for two-and-a-bit seasons now; we control the tempo of the games, we knock the ball about pretty well (when we're not hoofing it to Facepalmer), we attack with pace and purpose and at no stage do we ever look like we're in any trouble defensively. And then we commit hara-kiri on an aimless punt into the box which should a) have been closed down and b) defended easily when it arrives and *bang* we've lost to Newport/Mansfield/whatever club has arrived in E10 to play for a 0-0 and not believed their luck at how easy we are to score against. There is such an irrevocable malaise at the club, and nothing whatsoever will change with the fucking meddling puppet master pulling the strings.

I'm just happy we have beaten a side who will almost certainly be top half come end of the season, that was our problem last year.

The defending from that Sandro Semedo is absolutely shocking for both goals.

I wouldn't be happy with that if I was an Orient fan.

The defending for both goals was atrocious, but he's a young lad who has come through the youth system with a handful of senior appearances and most crucially he is a winger... (We have two actual left backs)

So are your 2 LB's injured or did hessentaler have an off day with his team selection?

In highsight after the dismal loss to Plymouth last week it was just the tonic with Cambridge and Barnet at field mill in successive weekends.

I'm not always the most confident in Mansfield sides, but with a bit of luck we could have a realistic tilt at the playoffs - this will depend whether Murray grows some balls at home

You appear to be labouring under the delusion that Yessenthaler picks the team.

E10rifle The Terminator and all the Mansfield contingent, you may all be bemused/ amused to learn that Ollie Palmer completed a pass. One. One single pass. He made ONE pass. One fucking pass. Fuck me. The next lowest of the starters was Cornick who completed 20.

He touched the ball eight times, three of which were attempts on goal. The next lowest Orient starter was Cisak who touched it sixteen times...

For comparison Henderson had 24 touches and 13 completed passes.

Maybe the Opta collection person was drunk or stats don't mean anything or.... More likely, Palmer contributed the square root of fuck all.

In my view Bowery has to start the next match if Simpson is still doing fuck knows what.

Imagine Palmer trying too hard and being even more shit. Incredible scenes. Hope he gets truly fucked by football and ends up as a bin man or something.

Well apparently before he started with us he was a model or a naked butler, on his looks maybe I'll give it a go

BUT you're missing the most important stat of all - he'd have run a lot and given 100%!

Ollie just isn't very good; certainly nowhere near good enough for Orient. A lucky boy to be a Football League player for another season; he'll be Conference next year where he'll fare okay.

I'm not entirely sure he's good enough for the conference. I can't see him as a front man for a promotion chasing team.
