This is the time to play Orient.

We are on a roll - -4 consecutive wins and beaten only once in the league this season.
Orient also on a roll - downwards - and gaining momentum. After the easiest of starts to the season against 4 of the current bottom 5 they are being caught out. I mean, who loses to Crawley of all people?
I can see Orient being in the relegation zone by Christmas.

Match already a sell out for visitiors.

You can see Orient being in the relegation zone, despite the fact that we have beaten every one of said 4 or the bottom five? Right-o. Figured it would be dear Eric that was going to try and WUM before this fixture, but I guess all of you are pretty sore. Oh well.

We've actually played better since August, we're just making some ridiculous mistakes at the back. Iron those out and we'll challenge for top seven all season. Interesting to see how Roofe copes with not being the best player on the pitch for once.

That would be interesting, but lets keep this thread about Oxford vs Orient.

I'm looking forward to this one. A new ground for me, and it is always good fun to be in a packed away end. Don't expect the Orient fans to get into the spirit as much. Initially expected a defeat but when you look at the form of both teams, I'm going for a big 3-0 to Oxford.

I've assumed O'Dowda will be available again, does anyone know for sure? We look a lot more balanced with him in the side, and Roofe and Hylton up top together.

We will easily lose this, we're badly out of form in terms of defending. We will probably score but lose 4-1.

Hendons formation has been sussed out as expected, on our day we may out score one or two teams and blow them away quite quickly but against the better sides that won't be possible.

How very droll. Come back when he's got 50+ goals and 60+ assists in four seasons in a higher division than this tinpot cackhole.

Unsurprisingly, Cox is currently the top assist provider in the entire football league so far this season. It's okay that you don't know that though, you just won't have seen him play - you were too busy being in Eastleigh with Eric.

Bit of a strange argument to say that Roofe isn't as good because he's younger, was that the best you could do?

Is he one of the ones that you're overpaying and can't shift on?

Why would we want to shift the best player in the division on?

Roofe might have the potential to play in the top divisions later in his career, but does that mean he's right at this moment better than a player who should be in the Championship? Better right at this moment than the top assists provider & highest-scoring midfielder in the entire football league over the past four and a bit seasons? Could I, for example, say that Wayne Rooney is a better player than Anthony Martial right at this moment without you resorting to distorting the argument and pretending that age and experience aren't a relevant factor? Don't be facile, it's not very becoming of you.

Sounds like you're in denial, old bean. Not to worry after Coxy begins to destroy you on Saturday you'll have anger (probably involving the f word), bargaining (shouting at the ref to give you every decision), depression (when you realise that you can't breach our impregnable back three - we play without a right back dontchyaknow) and acceptance (when you come on here afterwards and admit that yes, Dean Cox is currently the best player in this division).

Though I won't hold my breath - you strange little bumpkins don't seemed to have moved past 'anger' in the last 9 years.

Just been reading a leyton forum. Evidently Steve 'Fat Boy' Evans is being lined up to replace Hendon after the match.
I wouldn't bother reading our forums, they're all shit and full of in fighting between various different people.

"Hendon's formation has been sussed out as expected" -
Sounds familiar to us Barnet fans as does the quick start and subsequent decline.

Best commentary in the history of the universe, I'd say (worth watching until the final second). Not sure about the title of the video, mind - should be more aligned with what we cared about. Something like: "Orient relegate Massive Oxford", surely?

I have been going 22 years now and that is as good as it has got and it will never get better than that IMO, we are a small old boys club going nowhere and moments like that only come along about every 20-30 years.

Last time we was down here for 11 years and to be honest, I gave up after the 5th year in 2001 when we lost our second playoff final to Blackpool 4-2 because then I simply knew we would never really get any higher unless a miracle happened, we will always be a football club that bottles it, but once every 30 years gets over the line.

As for the game, I am not exactly looking forward to it. We haven't been disasterous this season but it is clear that we won't be anywhere near the top 7, I'd still be happy just not going down again. One win in 7, at least two of those games we should've won due to the amount of chances we created and the fact that both Cambridge and Northamptons goalkeepers got MOTM awards in both games.

Our game away at Newport was by far the best example of us as a team - Capable of blowing away the opposition in one half if we take our chances (Of which we usually create a fair few) but our structure as a team when it comes to defend is poor, which IMO is down to the formation and Hendon not getting the players to adjust to it, we look steadier in a 4-4-2 IMO.

Baudry I'd imagine will be back - We have no centre half cover due to Dunnes suspension which is worrying.

Cisak
Clohessy Baudry Essam Chicksen
James
Pritchard Moore
Cox
Simpson Marquis

Subs:
Grainger
Shaw
Moncur
Turgott
Payne
Palmer
Kashket
Marquis will Start, he did very well in his 45mins at Crawley last week and as we all know, Ollie Palmer works hard but has been guilty of missing every single chance that seems to be created for him.

If Jay Simpson gets injured (Which is due to happen) we are well and truly fucked.

As for Oxford, a solid team on paper with some good youngsters coming through. Roofe has done well and they look like a team which can grind a 1-0 or 2-0 away from home - Something which we're not capable of doing.

I look forward to Oxford fans afterwards coming out with "Revenge is sweet" and "I've waited ten years for that" even though nobody from both clubs from that era is still around.

We will lose.

Hilariously shit. Not entirely sure why we've changed a successful formation, but there you go. Oxford fans enjoying this as if it somehow makes up for us relegating them into non league for years.

Disappointed - always happy to get a point away from home but at half time it felt as though were strolling.
The sending off was quite justifiable and we were on the rack for a bit after that.

Referee was OK start with but deteriorated later. No way shoudl Slocombe have been booked for time-wasting. Orient should have been penalised for failing to provide ball boys. It is not the GK's job to retrieve the ball from the crowd.

Stilll - our unbeaten run contines. Bring on Plymouth on Tuesday.

Trans: the ref gave us absolutely everything in the first half when we were flopping about all over the shop, but nowt in the second half when we weren't.

Thought he had an alright game tbh - got all of the major decisions correct (the sending off, both penalty box dives).

Weird old game if truth be told - both sides had one absolute shocker of a half, and scored two goals in the other without ever actually playing particularly well.

Roofe and Cox were probably the worst two players on the pitch.

Thought Oxford threw it away myself, they were excellent in every department in the first half and will no doubt be in the top 7 this season. We were awful in the first half, by far the worst we've played all season. Clearly it showed today that we're a team built on the 4-3-1-2 formation, because 4-4-2 in the first half we offered nothing and our wingers Cox and expecially Turgott offered very little.

Hendon was a brave man at half time to take Cox off, but in the end it just about paid off.

Second half we changed shape and personel and Oxford sat deep playing on the counter attack, we basically lumped the ball the long to Palmer who won virtually every header, we created more chances and Palmer made one for Simpson, who managed to take one at the right time.

Awful sending off by Jordan Graham, utterly stupid and cost his team, no reaction from the Oxford bench at all told the story itself, stupid 2nd yellow card to get.

To their credit Oxford defended well after that and may well have scored a third but for some great goalkeeping from Cisak - He had two things to do all the second half and he kept us in the game, but Oxford were again undone by another long ball to Palmer whos knock down found Kashket to score his first ever career goal.

I was happy with a draw in the end, but again it shows that we're a team that will get goals but we cannot defend for shit, our team structure and shape around defending is really poor right now, partly down to Hendon and to the players making stupid individual errors. However, we keep coming from behind and at least nicking draws from games - There is spirit within the camp which after last season is actually refreshing to see.

Oxford have a better chance of going up than we do IMO, Hendon for me is slowly proving that he isn't good enough as a manager.
