Thought I'd put this thread up ready before our cup game tonight as there's a few fans of each on this forum so it's likely to be a active thread (that is if the Lincoln fans can bear the thought of abandoning their non-league mindset and posting in a single match thread).

This game will settle once and for all which is the best sausage. The pocket rocket of spicy juiciness that is the Cumberland sausage, or that herby piece of shit they have the cheek to call a sausage down in Lincolnshire. (The return fixture will settle the best biscuit, the universally loved Custard Cream and Ginger Nut that we make in Carlisle or them Lincoln biscuits whatever they are... next season we'll look to settle best US President and best Roman fort)

On the pitch we've recovered pretty well after a poor first game and will be hoping it continues though expect Lincoln to put up much more fight than either Cambridge or Cheltenham did. That said, Lincoln haven't really started in earnest yet (either that or they're just shit) and are looking for their first win.

Let battle commence.

I'm thinking a draw. From what I've read on here, Lincoln probably should be on 9 points instead of 2 so it'll be tough. We've massively improved since the opening game, and have looked much more solid defensively (Bonham in net still has the odd moment of madness).

Imagine it'll be another game of 2 teams launching it forward, and probably a goal or two from corners or long throws.

Tom Miller returns to Sincil Bank for the first time, with 2 goals and 1 assist already this season.

1-1 draw, Green to put Lincoln ahead early on and Mike Jones to equalise.

Some fans of every team believe their side should be on maximum points, I wouldn't believe hype

We should have beaten Morecambe but draws against Wycombe and Exeter would have been fair. I don't think I've seen any Lincoln fan claim we should be on 9 points.

Bollocks to the sausages, let's have a battle of the tanks. We've above all that sausage argument shit. We won that ones years ago and have moved on from that to Castle's, Cathedral's, Tank's, Magna Carta's and all that malarkey...

Anyway, the game, I'm unlikely to be at this one. Hoping we'll have Habergham back in, thus giving us an element of balance at LB and Eardley going to RB.

A little lacking in both boxes at the minute and having a knack of conceding against the run of play in all three of our league games. We don't feel a million miles off being a half decent side and 2 points from 9 is slightly harsh - 5 or 6 probably closer to the mark having also given Rotherham a good run for their money in the cup.

Only our local rivals seem to think we should have won all 3 league games. They dont like the fact we did well last season and got lots of publicity.
Also dont like seem like our management team for some reason.
We had an amazing season last time out but we haven't got going yet, a few tweaks required and I'm sure we'll get there.

I think we've shown we are a decent team recently and touch wood we actually look like a team capable of defending to a reasonable standard! However I do still fear we're a couple of injuries away from a disaster, especially if our left back picks up an injury. We have no cover there. I'll be horrified if that isn't rectified before the start of next month.

It's looking like we could have a decent season with a bit of luck, the fact we don't look as shambolic at the back is a big reason for that. I still don't think there's enough goals amongst our strikers, but Jason Kennedy returning is a boost, he adds a goal threat from midfield.

Having said all that I do think we'll lose this one. Lincoln are due a win and i think last nights efforts may have took a lot out of us.

I was bricking it when Grainger started limping during the Sunderland game.

His injury was one of the factors in our collapse last season.

To be a week away from deadline day with no cover for him is inexcusable really. It should have been one of the priorities over the summer.

Newmarket sausages piss all over Cumberland and Lincolnshire sausages.

Just saying.

Sorry but Cumberland Sausage, properly spiced, is on a different planet to anything offered south of Milnthorpe. That said, Lincolnshire sausages is a notable low - twigs and gristle compared to most offerings that I've sampled. Even the french can do a better job than the yeller bellies. Newmarket sausages are barely better.

We make the best sausage known to man.

Right this is going to be a big test for our team on Saturday and if we get a point then I won't be too disappointed because I can see Lincoln being a threat this season so hopefully we can keep our good form going as every point counts towards the end of the season.

By the way Lincoln fans, you were always known as being a boring long ball hoof team with 7 foot players back in the day, is this still the case in 2017?

Well one of their strikers is about 7 foot wide. Does that count?

Shit, I just remembered Ollie Palmer joined Lincoln. Guarantee he'll put in a class performance as he always does. Rhead v Parkes should be a good battle too.

Confident of a win here, purely because we're due one. Could be the game where it all comes together because performances have been good just not gone for us. The 2 points from 9 situation will probably work against Carlisle as it should spur our lot on. Saying that though if we concede first some anxiety may kick in with both players and fans.

Think it'll be a good open game.

Got some big lads still, both CBs got about 8 each last season but we're not the side your thinking of, McAuley, McCombe, Futcher all 6ft 5+ them were the days hoooof

We never were a boring long ball, hoof team but we were direct. They weren't aimless long balls to no-one in particular but a direct ball to a target man and played from there. Contrary to popular belief, we had a lot of smaller players in KA squads. He always had two of his three CB's 6'3"+ and a target man. But then we had the likes of Marriott, Morgan, Bailey, Bimson, Bloomer, Cornelly, Yeo, Gary Taylor-Fletcher, Smith, Pearce, Willis etc and we were particularly small in wider areas. His two CM's at the time were Gain and Butcher, both 6' but there were footballers rather than cloggers. Gain in particular was a particularly technical player.

Anyway, Carlisle fans, get yourself here early and you can have a wander through Lincoln and witness some Steampunk costumes from this years Steampunk festival.

Can't see relegation-battling Lincoln getting anything out of this.

Where's Crazy Imp? He hasn't already cried off the forum again because of Lincoln's bad form, has he?
