The BBC have today confirmed that from the beginning of the 2015/16 season that they will no longer be showing 'The Football League Show' on a Saturday night. In a deal thought to be worth a seemingly paultry £2m, Channel 5 will be the new channel to show highlights at an earlier time slot of 9pm in an attempt to allow younger kids to catch highlights and 'catch them young' as such.

What are your thoughts on this? Is this a good or bad move? Are people finally happy to get rid of Steve Claridge and his painfully simple observations? Would people prefer to keep it on BBC? Will people enjoy the advert breaks that will come with Channel 5 and who will be the presenter?

Have your say in our poll above!

I'm disappointed to learn this. I liked Manish and Leroy. I think out of the terrestrial channels the BBC just do football the best. Not happy with ads and I hope 5's coverage will be as comprehensive as the BBCs

The time it's on makes no difference to me because I record it and watch it on Sunday. I suppose it doesn't make much difference about the ads cos I can skip through them too. Won't be able to watch it in HD though.

I'm not sure on other clubs, but I know at Reading they release 1-2 minute highlight videos on YouTube within 24 hours of the game, and extended highlights are available if you subscribe to a video service. This has meant that I don't need to stay up, wait for half of the program to finish and then see 30 seconds of my team playing, with poor or no comment from the pundits.

If it were moved to Channel 5 I doubt it would make me come back and watch it. Only time I do watch is if I want something in the background to casually watch/listen to whilst i'm busy with other things. I only make an effort to watch it if Reading is the featured game, which is a rare occurrence.

Norwich do the same with the highlights on youtube and I've barely watched the football league show this year. It just seems too much to put all 3 divisions into one highlights show and give justice to everyone.

Will give it a go when it starts. I normally watch The Football League show either on Saturday night or Sunday mornings & Manish and Leroy were great. Can't say that I am sad to see the back of Claridge though.

Not too fussed about this tbh, I used to record it anyway. One plus is that I don't have to listen to Claridge any more.

Only annoying thing will be adverts but then the chit chat is a time waster anyway...

Won't really effect me but, it would give me something to watch before MOTD. Wonder if they'll take Manish and co with them.

Obviously we don't feature on it but I always enjoyed watching it. I don't watch MOTD so it was frustrating that FLS was on so late after it, at least that will be improved with C5.

I'd take Manish - quite like him but the rest can stay put or sign on.

it never bothered me when ITV had the coverage so the adverts wouldn't be an issue now.

the only thing it will change is the chance to view the highlights online via the BBC website im guessing?

So long as Steve 'Say the most plainly obvious' Claridge is nowhere near it, I'm happy. Can't stand the man.

Don't bother me as I always watch it on catch up anyway, but an earlier time slot is much better. Not so bad for the Championship fans but for fans of lower league 2 dross, it takes an age for our team to be shown and when we are it's about 15 seconds long. Not worth it at all.

This tbh, but for those that might not be able to record it, 9pm is much more manageable. Not fussed what channel it's on either way.

Oxford do this, not that the viewing has been that great lately.

I used to watch Sky's 'Netbuster's' instead, which rattled through all the goals/sendings off in 40 minutes or so, but then they started talking in it as well (at the end of each league round-up as opposed to half way through, too).

I generally Sky+ it and watch on a Sunday lunch time.
