We seem to have turned a corner recently in terms of results, but barring the second half vs Bury, we're still way off the pace.

Three wins on the trot ain't to be sniffed at though, but the visit of Wigan on Saturday will prove to be a tough obstacle to overcome - plus, I can't remember the last time we won 4 on the bounce in the league.

Steve Davies walked off injured on Tuesday, so he'll be a big loss. Hanson will get the kid again to partner Cole, and tbf, he showed glimpses of his old self on Tuesday, with some neat layoffs but I still think he isn't the answer.

Ben Willams

Stephen Darby
Rory McArdle
Reece Burke
James Meredith

Tony McMahon
Billy Knott
Lee Evans
Kyel Reid

James Hanson
Devante Cole

I predict a loss. Wigan are also in great form, and I rate their side on paper.

Many Wigan fans making the trip?

Vale fan here poking nose in ! What has happened with Marshall ? scored about 7 or 8 for us and particularly on our big pitch had some terrific games, was gutted when he decided to move nearer to London to be with his family !! And yes Wigan are decent, we beat them 3-2 and could of been out of sight but when they were on song were a quick team with players better than League one level. Amazed if don,t get automatic.

Marshall - delivery is ok, not as inconsistant as a lot of wingers, but he does faff about too much, an extra step over or trying to beat someone again, Kyle Reid is a much better player and he has plenty of flaws.

On to Wigan - Dropping Hanson for Davies resulted in 3 wins, now he's injured will that dent the run? Wigan are in good form with a good squad to match, I reckon we'll manage a score draw as we don't seem like losing too many either

To answer the most important question Firthy...'current sales have passed the 900 mark' according to the Wigan website.

He's done well tbf - everyone knew what he brings and he's done just that, he always had a very good partnership with Meredith at left back and they've both picked that back up again, like dropping Hanson, Reid's return has seen three straight league wins.

Score draw is predicted, a fair result - neither keeper with much to do and no surprise we scored from a corner having taken four million of them during the game

You'll take it? Surely if we're that bad you should be disappointed you didn't win, given you're the L1 incarnation of Barca?

What's actually hilarious is that you came on our board a few weeks back, said you'll wallop us and took the piss out of our support! Then you bring that following today and couldn't beat us. Never mind eh...

agree with that, wigan did play more hoofball than most teams, specially in the 2nd half. they also employed more wwf personnel than most and were very fortunate not to concede a pen in the 1st half. they were even more fortunate a free kick not awarded to city in the lead up to their goal. when the 2 goalies don't have a proper save to make,s'pose a draw is the right result.

I didnt go on any board and take the piss out of bradfords support :/ we need to get it right against none football teams with rough house tactics nearly half ya team booked was it ? but getting a point playing at about 30% is not to bad

Fuck me, we've got some Wiganer jibber-jabbering about theoactircal players, then we have Michael Jacobs specialising in the double Spring and tuck.

What a shame.

In addition, I bet your playing budget is almost quadruple ours (circa £3m). Well done, you won't even flirt with the top three, much like you should.

I've just checked back through the 'October' thread started on the Claret & Banter board back in September (by 'wiganladd123'), where in one of the posts that 'person' states they've created a profile on this site under the very name you're posting under here.

If that's not you who was on our site, then you'd have to agree that's a very strange WUM who clearly has major issues specifically with you!

Rough house tactics? Not sure about that, certainly think that more of your players could have been carded.

It's more than that. The Wigan chairman said 'we'll have a very good budget - five times more than anyone else in League One' before the season.

To be honest, I just think he's very naive. For Wigan to have a budget 5x bigger than anyone else, that would mean their playing budget will be around £25m+ - of which I refuse to believe. I'm sure Millwall and Sheff Utd will have a playing budget of circa £5m.

Well if you cant beat a wigan side who didnt get out of first gear you will be mid table at best, that was you at 100%..and we have hardly spent anything clever financial investment we sold alot of players and spent less but i know one thing you will be looking up at us in the table come may! Millwall kind of team bunch of labourers

....and judging by this post, it would indicate to me that you genuinely believe that we played out of our skins to get a draw.

Much like yourself, we didn't play well yesterday. In fact, we've played well twice this season, one in the first half vs Sheff Utd and the second half vs Bury, other than that we've been dire. Yet, we still find ourselves 4 points behind you WITH a game in hand.

Don't get carried away, things will quickly change with regards to the current table.

I was disappointed with Wigan to be honest. Clearly a very good team with excellent players at this level and a team which will be in the top 6, but their tactics left a lot to be desired. It's a long time since I've seen a team come out so blatantly to con a referee. McCann needs to have a look at himself and they way he was flinging himself to the floor. Accept that it's a part of the game these days, but the opening 25 minutes was embarrassing.

Still, a good result for a 'roughhouse' team that is still missing Filipe Morais, Billy Clarke, Josh Morris, Paul Anderson and Steve Davies. Morais and Anderson being out for the season.

Not sure how many teams could cope with losing 5 first teamers. If we're still in touch with the play offs when they return to full fitness we will have done well.

First half at Swindon is by far the best we've played so far this season.
