What you will find next season is that most grounds in the Championship are unrecognisable from what they were even ten years ago. There are lots of new builds, a lot where 2/3 stands have been replaced.

The old style stadiums have pretty much gone in the top two divisions.

I don't blame you for condemning the new builds, but when you haven't been anywhere near them for, what? nigh on ten years, you ought to perhaps keep your powder dry until you've seen how things are on your travels, and how your stadium (which again is not the Bramall Lane of 15 years ago) performs.

6 years and the only 2 grounds of the 24 that's changed in that time is wolves and bristol city and I've been to wolves in league one so what the fucking hell are you going on about

It was called the iPro for a couple of seasons, wasn't it?

It was indeed, 2013-2016, we cancelled the sponsorship last year as it sounded like "iPro" was unsurprisingly going down the shitter.

It was called pride park. Now you all call it the fucking ipro, truly embarrassing

I don't think I've ever called it iPro in person and people mostly still referred to it as PP even when we changed the name. Its definitely not the iPro anymore.

Either way, PP still isn't anything affectionate to most, it's purely the retail park it was built on.

Are we talking modernity ? atmosphere ? facilities ? accessibility (road/rail etc.) ?
Biased I know, but been to a few and, in this country and at this level, little tops Elland Road for most of the above (if a little bit dated in parts) but most of the away fans wouldn't think so because, sadly, you are fleeced by our owners and so few away fans ever turn up !

Molineux's main flaw is that the 4 stands are too far away from the pitch, especially the side stands. If we ever complete the rebuilding process it'll be right up onto the pitch, but it'll also look identical to Sunderland's stadium.

My OCD gets triggered whenever I look at the North Bank, it looks unfinished. Have Fosun laid out their plans yet when the rest of the ground is going to be done?

They said in their first interview that they plan to finish it, but they want us to be selling around 26k fans a week on a regular basis before they do anything. Basically if we can sustain ourselves in the Prem for a year or two and all and bandwagon fans come along they will complete it.

I agree though, the North Bank looks really out of place at the moment, either do the whole process at once or not at all.

No. It looks worse than that. As a result there are parts of the Steve Bull can't be used.
I reckon Fosun might look to do the Steve Bull side sooner rather than later, not to increase attendance (it would add, I think, just a couple of thousand) but to build revenue-producing assets...hotel, offices, retail maybe.

But then the Steve Bull will tower over the South Bank.

Based on what I've been to in the Championship, my top 5 would be:

1. Villa Park
2. Craven Cottage
3. Carrow Road
4. Molineux (although the away section is pretty shit, it's still a good ground overall)
5. Portman Road

Surprised by the amount of people saying Brentford because it has terraces - you can stand at just about every ground in the country now anyway so what's the big deal there? Griffin Park is a little bit shit really, all odds and sods.

I'm sorry Whitenotred but, one stand apart, I would put ER as the ground most needing work.
Yes, it has history, good crowds and a great atmosphere but I think it's a bit tatty and cramped nowadays.
The location and access are good but the ground itself is a bit of a tip by modern standards WTGR.
Sorry.

Add LR to a ground that needs work. I love it but fuck me, it is a dated stadium with awful facilities. Need a beer and a piss at half time and see the start of the second half? No chance.

Is ours really the second-newest stadium? I'm guessing you mean the new North Bank. Are there really no newer grounds? The Amex? Surely Bolton build a new stadium every 6 months. They've had shit players for a decade so the money must have gone somewhere.

I just meant the new corner. He was making out I shouldn't know what to expect at these grounds because we've been in league one for 6 years.

Ah. But to be fair, if you took more away, we would have given you the North Bank flank when we were in League 1.

We've never once filled that lower tier at wolves never mind needing any more.

Yeh. That's what we said, too.

I admit, in that L1 season, my very favourite away game was at yours. Can't say why...family reasons....but it was immensely enjoyable. Don't even remember if we won, but we stayed the night before in the hotel 'in' the ground. Biggest concern was that I'd just bought a new Merc and was worried some Wolves bastard would key it! :bg:

Ah, you don't appreciate the concept of "buying a car" in northern Scotland then.

Horse 'n' carts up here still mate.
I struggle to believe that anyone associated with Wolverhampton has paid for something with pound sterling. :shifty:
