My favourite Bournemouth free kick was one Darren Anderton against Scunthorpe at home, 2006. Well over 30 yards out with no exaggeration, nobody in League One would ever consider shooting from there. Everyone caught by surprise as he smashed the ball swerving one way, only to swerve back the other way leaving the keeper rooted to the spot. Seemed to defy the laws of physics.

The best against us would probably be a Rickie Lambert effort for Saints, circa 2009 (?). Often a nemesis for us when up against his various lower league clubs. But this was a particular peach, one of those where you just hold your hands up and accept it was a brilliant strike, gave the keeper no chance, and you knew it was perfectly in the top corner from the moment he hit it. Payet hit one for West Ham the other year which was good, but Lambert's was hit harder!

David Seal for Mangotsfield against another non-league side.
Goalkeeper was stood about a foot away from his near post, Seal using he weaker foot curls it around the wall, looks like it is going wide but comes back and slots between the goalkeeper and the post.
Goalkeeper should have done better, being lenient he would have been wrong-footed by Seal not using his favoured foot.
Goal and terrace at that end of the ground were so close the ball nearly hit me in the face through the net.

Have probably seen better ones (JET vs Port Vale was a great one) but Seals is probably my favourite.

Best curved-around-the-wall-free-kick goal ever scored?

It has to be the one scored by my nephew, James, a couple of seasons ago when he was playing for his school team. You can keep your Ronaldos..... Nothing I've ever seen in top flight football comes close. Perfectly struck, around the wall, right into the top right hand corner of the net with the 'keeper beaten all ends up. Get in...!!

My sister had been recording some of his dazzling skills on her mobile phone during the game but unfortunately was having a fag at that particular moment.

Nobody who was there will ever forget it though.
