Ayoub Assal was very impressive for the first half of last season so hoping he recaptures that form.

Paris Maghoma on loan from Brentford comes with rave reviews, but I haven't seen him yet so who knows?

On paper Luke McCormick should be a stand-out (and is a big earner on the expectation that we'd sell him on for a lot) but he seems to be standing still or going backwards with us. Crunch season for him.

I also fear that Tzanev in goal will be a stand-out, but not in a good way.

Might as well let us have him back then :2thumb:

Couple of hundred thousand and it's a deal. He's certainly not been the player he was at yours though. Frustrating because you can see the talent there, but he goes missing at times when he should be taking the game by the scruff of the neck and some of his decision-making when in dangerous areas was awful last year.

He was one of the few bright lights in a poor team when we finished bottom.
I think Joey wanted to bring him back permanently but he opted to stay in L1 locally which is fair enough.
His goals and assists were still pretty decent for you guys though ive heard?

Adam Clayton and Tommy Rowe are both too good for this division as to the rest of our squad, I don’t have a clue
[/QUOTE

Didn't realise Adam Clayton played for you always plays well against us and a dirty sod too every time I've seen him.

Still think he is best on bass guitar though

Yeah, maybe I'm being harsh because he scored 7 in 40 for us - better than the 6 in 39 for you. It's not that he's been poor, more that there is clearly much more in there that we don't get to see consistently. Can't do much for your confidence to have successive relegations on your CV - the Hermann Hreiðarsson of League One.

It would need to be more than a couple of hundred thousand as Chelsea I'm led to believe get 50% of any transfer fee.

From what I can gather -- We have been quoted 200K.

Which is the most I think anyone would pay for him right now. How much sell-on Chelsea cream off is irrelevant to what he's actually worth on the market. Anyway, not in the squad for today's friendly and nothing about him being injured. Make of that what you will.

Realistically, I'd expect our first choice midfield to be better than the vast majority of this league this season, with loads of higher level experience between Shaun Williams, Stuart O'Keefe and Olly Lee. Ryan Law at left back made plenty of appearances for a good Plymouth side in League One last season but having not seen him play live I won't put that mantle on him just yet, but he could be a bit of a star for us this year.

All in all I don't see too many first XIs who I think are stronger than ours, but there are several stronger squads - mainly because we haven't really got one. If we can get the 4 more in that Harris wants then we could have a very competitive group. If we don't, we probably fall short.

Josh Dacres Cogley is so far clear of every other RB / RWB it’s not even funny.

Based on his debut Danny Hylton has lost none of his ability, either in terms of football and wind up merchant.

Title says it all.

Who do you think are some of the stand out players in League 2 going into the new season?

All of our players are the best in the league because they're ours.

There’s a sense of irony in this statement - but I’ll stay out of it.

He will frustrate you sometimes, he had some silly sending offs for us including a bizarre one involving a litter picker…but he absolutely gets in other players heads and off their games just a total wind up. The funny thing is he does it by not being aggressive and losing his own game in it, in fact it often makes him better, like stealing goalkeeper water bottles at corners and stuff.

Ohhh I never consider any players of other L2 teams to be better than ours because our club is so great and massive.
I wouldn't even know their names and not even the name of the club they play for because every other team we come against in this tinpot division I just see as another shitty L2 club..
