Correct, they used to play in The Darlington Arena with 25,000 capacity, until 2013. The club has since reformed and no longer plays there.

The video is now live! After consideration, I've decided to leave Penydarren Park as 10,000 capacity as there was no definite evidence to prove otherwise. Thanks to everyone that helped, it's greatly appreciated. Enjoy!

How the fire code calculates capacity is, each standing person has to have a minimum of 5 sq. ft. of area so once you know the square footage of the terrace, divide by 5 and that gives you the maximum number of people allowed. BUT if the exits can't handle that number of folks then the capacity is reduced once again. Also, that number is reduced yet again because now we have to have egress path of travel lanes to the exits.
Funny thing is if they took all the seats out of the kop at Liverpool the capacity wouldn't increase even though you could squeeze twice as many people in.

Very interesting, I certainly didn't know that.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
To add a wee bit of difference to this thread, which non league sides have a strangely large capacity ground for crowds they get?

For say example Curzon have 4,500 for about 250 fans....is ok at conf north level due to away crowds.

Bet there is afew much worse

I think unless there's a huge fa cup tie, you'll never really know. When we played Alvechurch their capacity was "3000" according to the reliable internet, however as it was 1stv2nd and all ticket there were only 1500 tickets. They were letting people in on the night (apparently on a recommendation from the police) so some of these aren't really true to their actual value.
