The big one for El Guapo, forget the Villa game a couple of weeks back, this is the game against the club he really hates.

Birmingham 2-1 Lee Tomlin FC.

Apparently we've sold out having been given an allocation of 1700, Villa were given 2000 apparently.... wonder who may be behind that.

No POTD, why won't they give us more?

Was there any real demand for this? You have only just sold the 1,700 today, the match is tomorrow. When there is a big allocation given at St Andrews it's because the demand is there.

Well it'd have been 2k with POTD, it always adds 250+ onto our figure. It's not as bad as I thought it would be given there are no trains running to Brum for whatever reason.

Wouldn't have helped if there were, would have been rounded up and put on the next one back to Bristol probably....

Very unlucky not to come away with anything today. Sounds like we had the better of the second half... But another defeat. Cue the usual tiresome meltdowns.

Unlucky City, undeserved defeat having dominated second half.

Brum not a nice team to watch.

Gutted.

Did not deserve that after the 2nd half performance. Very lucky to go in level at ht tbf but absolutely bossed it after the break, how many chances did we need?

Would've been incredible if that ended 0-0, could've been 4-4, but to be the ones to lose it...hard to take

After spending £14m just in the last transfer window? How ambitious.

We should be competing with the squad we have. Simple as that.

Top half should be our aim really, there aren't 12 teams in the division who are obviously better than anyone else, in reality its maybe 4 or 5. However considering where we were last year anywhere in the top half is excellent progression. Johnson said it would take 3 transfer windows to get the squad he wanted so next season should be when he has a side that he's planned for so to say.

I completely disagree. Half the clubs in this division have parachute payments. Then youve got clubs like Brighton and Sheff Weds who get much bigger crowds than us and already had a much better head start after top six finishes last year. If you genuinely expect us to be promotion contenders this year after finishing 18th last time, you are going to be disappointed. Its going to take some time, but anyone with perspective can see that we have been heading in the right direction.

I had three wishes for this year,

1 - Be competitive in this division (we are)
2 - Increase our fanbase (we have, much more than I would have expected)
3 - Play a brand of football that want the crowds to come back (not really thus far, only in patches)

Im fairly content with the clubs current position, providing we address our weaknesses in the January window. After the Kodjia and Bolasie money we have up to £15million to spend if needed. And who knows, maybe a playoff push will come sooner than we'd thought.

I wasn't expecting us to be challenging for automatic promotion this season; far from it, but with the amount of money we've spent on the playing squad adding to some of the individuals we already had here, the least we should be expecting is to stay in touch with the top six until January, and then give it a proper go with money at our disposal.

You say about us finishing 18th and not going to promotion contenders straight away, but it was never beyond the realms of possibility. I stand corrected but I believe that Brighton finished something like 17th in the 14/15 season, last season they finished 3rd. The bigger crowds argument can only go so far as well, we received £20m+ in transfer fees this summer, so if you're on about revenue, I'd say we have far more leighway in terms of FFP compared with the two in question, given that they both spent in excess of £10m last season as well.

I'm satisfied currently, a bit frustrated after today, but we have a positive young manager (the fans who were questioning him personally on OTIB/social media today are an embarrassment) and a good squad that is a few quality additions away from being a top six side, and we have the money to provide that.

New set of wingers and a right back in January and we'll be good to go. Possibly a new keeper if Lucic isn't ready yet, and a striker if Engvall isn't up to much which it seems he isn't given his lack of game time as well, but you can't expect that in one transfer window.

LJ's always said judge him and his squad after three transfer windows, so assuming we don't go down or stay up then let's see where we are next August. Should be a rollercoaster this season anyway.

I think theres alot of average teams in this league, and I would be dissapointed finishing any lower than we currently are. Just look at Birmingham, been poor when I've seen them on the TV and weren't up to much yesterday. Yet they are 5th.

That being said we have been average at best for a while now. We need to start picking up, playing for 90 minutes rather than strolling through the first half. Our first half record is embarrassing.

Hopefully we can get going next week from minute 1.
