Some games are simply must win. Tomorrow at St Andrews Birmingham City take on Fulham in a clash that could feasibly already be described as a six-pointer. Lee Clark's men head into this match following an unexpected point against Norwich City at Carrow Road although they will be ultimately disappointed not to have taken all three. Blues were in dreamland having taken a 2-0 lead in the first half only to squander the advantage within ten minutes of the second half courtesy of a double from former striker Cameron Jerome. The Cottagers have been abysmal so far and have accumulated a grand total of one point from their first eight games. Their most recent league outing was an insipid 0-1 defeat at home to Blackburn courtesy of a Jordan Rhodes strike in the 58th minute.

Since that reverse Fulham have parted company with their cheese loving manager Felix Magath. The German eccentric may have set the Londoners back five years and club stalwart Kit Symons is currently the man charged with arresting the slide and will have done his prospects no harm with a 2-1 victory over Doncaster in the League Cup 3rd Round. The bookies have former Birmingham manager Chris Hughton and ex-Celtic boss Neil Lennon among the favourites to take the reigns full time.

The Midlands side will be looking to turn performance into points and I fully expect them to line up in a 4-4-2 to take the game to their visitors.

Birmingham probable line-up: Randolph - Spector Hall Edgar Grounds - Cotterill Caddis Davis Gray - Thomas Donaldson

Fulham are difficult to predict as Symons will desperately be searching for a winning formula. Defender Shaun Hutchison is suspended for this clash after receiving a straight red in the Blackburn match. The Whites used a 4-3-2-1 in their last match but I think they'll be going for all three points against a team who are unaccustomed to winning at home so I've got Hugo Rodallega partnering Ross McCormack up front

Fulham probable line-up: Bettinelli - Hoogland Burn Bodurov Amorebieta - Christensen Parker Stafylidis Ruiz - McCormack Rodallega

I have to back Blues to win this one. They've got to start turning positive performances into three points. I'm predicting a nervy 1-0 win with a set piece or mistake most likely providing the winner.
